Defensive Coodinaters guide to beating the 2021 Eagles.

1. Stop the run game at all costs.

2. Make Hurts throw passes.

3. You can win with this strategy even if your team sucks and can only put up 13 points.

The media hyped Hurts up after the 2 consecutive wins but he is not an NFL qb. I understand it's his 1st full season but i compare him to McNabb and McNabb was a much better passer by this time in development already. Hurts can't go through WR progressions. I said it in this thread before. Hurts is just a guy. Not an NFL QB. He has a great attitude and is with good leader but his brain and his throwing arm are not connected.

Unfortunately we can't win going forward with Jalen Hurts. Hopefully he can prove ne wrong but I don't see it happening.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

I dunno how exactly to describe it, but I feel that Hurts has "it".

Foles had it. Wentz in 2017 had it. Vick had it too. McNabb never really had it.

I guess it's the feeling that even though he's not perfect, he's always going to be putting the team in a situation to win. And not make game killing mistakes.

So the guy who gave us a decade of pretty damn good football, 5 NFCC, and 1 SB appearance never had "it", but Hurts does. Right...

Welcome, you already make more sense than half the board.

You'll get quite a few likes on that post for being a newb. At least you get it

Dammit, I usually try to make as many enemies as I can in these places. Maybe I should start pimping Hurts.

The only "it" Hurts has is this: Fake it till you make it. He's just incapable of making it.

There's plenty of Hurts humpers you can be enemies with

If he wants to escalate it quickly, just mention Wentz in any way.

I don't think there was a huge difference between Hurts today and Hurts the last few weeks. In fact I think the difference was a couple of throws or a couple of drops. And I don't say that to defend Hurts, I actually say that to show that Hurts is not the long term answer.

Double dig

Wentz is soooo much better than Hurts.

Also, Hurts jerseys about to be moved to the discount rack.

Oh, man.  What are you trying to do? GrEazy will not like that!

Hurts played hero ball, made bad decisions, bad throws, 3 INTs and an embarrassing passer rating.

Still looks like a QB2 to me.

Hurts sucks to all the humpers out there

We all know who the main nut washer is. Hurts has a noodle arm. Turn him into a running back. It’s all he can do

So have we confirmed that Hurts sucks yet ???

Yes, but some refuse to read the memo.

In The Blog, 4for4 made a post that IMO sums it up quite well:

Hurts as RB2 >>>>> Hurts as QB1.

Seems rather spot on.

Many moons ago.

I’ve been saying for months that Jalen hurts is not an NFL quarterback. I really believe if he would switch positions to running back he would be one of the best running back‘s in the NFL. He just does not have the brain capacity to process through drives and read routes. He’ll stare down one guy and he never moves on with his progression. I wouldn’t even call what he is doing regression I just believe this is who he is and who he is is not an NFL quarterback he is a running back that happens to throw the ball as a quarterback. Hell I can call myself a quarterback but that doesn’t make me one. Just because some people called him a quarterback doesn’t make him one

Right now looks like a placeholder waiting for the long term answer.

I posted this in the GDT but belongs better on here so moving it across. This year was always mainly about finding out what we had in Hurts.

  • In an ideal world he shows traits of developing as a passer to complement the running ability and intangibles that we knew he had. I don't think we can say we have seen that.
  • The second best scenario would have been for him to stink it up, proving that he clearly isn't the QB here and landing us a high pick to find the next guy
  • The worst case scenario going into the year was that he ends up being middling/below average QB. Good enough to beat up on crappy teams screwing us out of a high pick but also not really developing much as a passer to give you any confidence in him being the guy longer term.

That first half against the Broncos gave me a glimmer of hope we might be trending towards the first scenario but two weeks on, we are right back to the worst case...no long term answer at QB, without high picks which means we may be trading a number of our picks to get the right QB or waiting till 2023

He just isn't at the level yet where he can win you games with his arm. That's an issue in the NFL, especially against any team which is above average. We just haven't played those teams in quite a while so the last few weeks have been somewhat of fools gold. It came crashing today against another pretty bad team.

Gotta agree with this for now.  If he’s making progress, we didn’t see it today.  That was a very winnable game if Hurts just plays like a game manager, not even a stud.  Some of those were God awful.
