Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

And there it is, he will play better if we are nicer to him :roll::roll:

Hurts might help US, if he can hit his 1st read, to the #1 WR on the team, when he is wide open. Is that asking too much? We think not. 😆

It is very possible that Hurts isn’t the guy, I fully accept that.

But all QBs have bad games. The idea of giving up on him if he has one more and turning to Minshew is just plain wrong.

As bad as he was we win that game if Ward and Reagor don’t drop very catchable TDS.

Let’s see how he responds over the next five games

And what if he's up and down like he has been? I won't be surprised if he gets further injured this coming Sunday.
I don't trust that he's not still injured and should take the week off. He's clearly another showboat who would
love to be 100% of the offense. If he sucks against the Jets I'll be off his bandwagon. We don't need a
Cam Newton clone. Or a battered cripple who insists on strutting his stuff.

If he lights it up I'll say let him roll. The Giants game might have been a Thanksgiving hangover.
And yes, Reagor sucks bigtime. We should give Smith and Watkins all the playing time they want.
They're the two best WRs on the team.

The Jets game will tell us a lot about Hurts as well as the coaches.
The rest of the season will tell us how much they've learned.

I don’t see Hurts as a showboat. He’s not Newton. It will be interesting how he plays if he’s limited by his ankle.

In all likelihood he will be up and down the rest of the season. We won’t have a definite answer. Half the board will swear he needs to be replaced. A handful will proclaim him the Franchise guy and the rest of us will be somewhere in between.

But the Eagles can’t force the situation. Wilson would cost a ton and take up a lot of the cap. I don’t think we would be able to surround him with much talent. He’s also been pretty bad this year.

Agreed. They shouldn't force anything via a trade or the draft. If a QB they like falls to them in the draft then OK take them if you really like them. If not then just hold off. Sign a veteran, go with Hurts or give Minshew a go next year. This team is not an elite QB away from being a contender.

The Eagles aren't going to sit around and wait for Hurts to get better. If, at the end of the season, there are as many questions then as there are now, they will look for a replacement.

As UK says though we are not an elite QB away from being a contender. The QB draft class is poor. Rodgers, Wilson and Watson (and I wouldn’t want Watson here anyway) would cost a ton in terms of draft picks and limit our salary cap severely.

It may well be that they are not sold on Hurts and would like to upgrade. But they can’t force it and the best option may be to roll with Hurts/Minshew next year.

Easy there.  Hurts is an NFL quality Qb, hands down.  The dude will make tens of millions over the next 10 years as a pro Qb.  The question to be answered is weather he is good enough to captain a perennial contender.  Probably not, he's very probably a fringe starter or top tier backup.  But that type of player can surprise you if you take the time to develop him.

After his stint here Hurts will be a back-up quarterback

With all the smoke about the Eagles' interest in Watson...which certainly seemed like it was true....that tells us that Howie and Jeff wanted to upgrade on Hurts even before the season started.  After watching Hurts this year, I can't imagine their thinking has changed.  I can 100% guarantee you that they will want to upgrade the QB position come the offseason.

If you're hoping we just address other needs and roll with Hurts or Minshew next season, then you better hope that Howie CAN'T, for whatever reason, trade for Watson, Wilson or Rodgers.  The good news is that Watson basically already said he only wants Miami and I seriously doubt Rodgers will want to come to Philly.  Wilson will be the wild card, but will have other suitors as well.

If Howie doesn't land any of them, things will get real interesting in draft season.

I think he can be in the fringe starter class with guys like Bridgewater, Tannehill and Daniel Jones.

Not a chance lol

And worse of all, he is hurting Smith's development due to his lack of being a real, smart. strong armed QB. With Smith's speed and talent, how many deep balls have gone to him??? They need a true QB to develop  Smith

So you think if we had Burrow or Mac Jones we still wouldn't be contenders?

And as for Watson or Wilson, that's a HUGE NO!!!

Saturday we'll see the best college QBs displaying their talents in the championship games.
Those big games pitting the best in each conference head to head is where we see who has the cool
demeanor and mastery of their skills to go all the way.

I can't wait to see Alabama's golden boy Young face off with Georgia's Stetson Bennett.

The Big 10 and ACC championships should also be must see games.
Four awesome teams in very good conferences.

I know, it's fun to kick those when their down and constructive criticism can be good but I'm reading too many mean spirited posts.....I guess it's a Philly thing.

don't you have some YouTube research to do on the flat earth theory vs the truth ?

I was curious as to a comparison of Hurts to another former Eagles QB and how they compare in their first 16 starts (as a passer, I didn't look at rushing).

Jalen Hurts 6-10 Record

280/484  57.9% 3,354 YDS 18 TDs 11 INTs  82.1 Passer Rating

Kevin Kolb 6-10 Record (not all with the Eagles)

294/492  59.8% 3,669 19 TDs 17 INTs 81.4 Passer Rating

Of course if someone wants to grab the rushing stats, Hurts would have that all over Kolb. But I was just curious about passing stats.

He's the most targeted player on the Eagles by a wide margin. In other words, he's Hurts' favorite target. I doubt he's hurting the rookie's development.

Omg tag me next time something like this gets posted so I can laugh earlier

Hurts and Taysom Hill are pretty much the same guy.

Yup. No way Lurie with his obsession to find a franchise QB sits around and waits for Hurts development.

Correct we would not be contenders with either of those. We wouldn't be a contender with Mahomes or Brady, Herbert or Rodgers.

Anyone else catch that stat this morning when Jalen Hirts passes the ball to any receiver not named Reagor his QBR is around 65, but when he passes to Reagor his QBR is 5.8? Jalen Reagor is like a quarterback black hole right now.
