You're probably right. He most likely will be the qb next year. I doubt he last beyond that. I've already prepared myself for another bad season next year knowing he will be the starter. That last part is hilarious

That statement doesn't even make sense. Hurts has his issues, but he's a work in progress. Anyone who definitively states that an NFL QB prospect "sucks" or is a "bust" because of some mixed results after only a full season's worth of starts clearly has no ability to analyze the position and is just more concerned with showing everyone how "right" they are.

He has improved zero percent on the faults listed in his draft profile.

Looks like Hurts is out and Minny is starting- IT HAS BEGUN- (a QB controversy) if Minny plays well, or passes for 280+ yards.

Agreed. I didn't realize me wanting the worse player on offense (who happens to play the most important position) off the team was such a crime. I'm sure the humpers did the same last year with Wentz

The Jets are horrible.  If Minshew doesn’t win going away and delude people into thinking he’s better than he is, then he has failed.

Well this is an interesting development. One problem with a running QB is an increased chance of injury. If Hurts wasn't going to be able to run affectingly with this injury it makes sense to sit him out. I also always thought that when the time was right that we would get to see Minshew this year. I always saw this as an assessment year. It's why I wasn't shocked to see them start out passing against the Giants. They needed to see if Hurts has progressed and give him a chance to progress. If they stuck with what had been working it would serve no purpose other than maybe having an extra number in the win column. While I don't believe Minshew is the answer, this is a good opportunity to get a chance to assess him. I see no controversy. In fact I see this move as protecting Hurts, not just from additional injury but from having two bad games in a row. An even worse case for Hurts would be to start and suffer further injury or having to be pulled from the game because he wasn't performing.

Ironically Hurts was injured in the pocket when he got sacked and not while running…. With that being the case it’s smart to sit Hurts, because 1) it’s the Jets and as long as the run game is working it shouldn’t matter too much, 2) as you mentioned Hurts being severely hobbled as a runner severely limits him and skill set. Also the Giants showed that even if Hurts wouldn’t run it on the read option the opponent can still hit the quarterback. No sense putting him out there to take more hits while he’s hurt, and 3) the Eagles have a bye next week. Let him rest for two weeks and see how he’s doing after that. The only way this team realistically considers benching Hurts would be if Minshew had the greatest game in NFL history, and still that has to be tampered with the fact it’s just the Jets.
