Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

So, there are conflicting reports. Schefter is saying the team will let him test the ankle before the game. So, beanbaggers can hold their nipple pinchin' for now.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

None of these reports are going to keep me from pinching my nipples on a Saturday night!

The Jets are horrible.  If Minshew doesn’t win going away and delude people into thinking he’s better than he is, then he has failed.

It really should be a layup for him.

I just hope people remember that before they start calling for him to be the starter the rest of the year.

Giants shoud've been a layup for Jalen.

This

Welp, there it is: If Minshew sucks, it'll be "whatabout Hurts??"

Wrong. It will be draft a QB or trade/sign one.

Looks like Hurts is likely out tomorrow so I guess tomorrow it will be Minshews time. Here comes the qb controversy 🙄

Lurie is said to still believe in Hurts, but Roseman’s assessment is less confident, two independent sources familiar with their thinking said…

The Eagles did preliminary work on [Deshaun] Watson and were open to the possibility of a transaction with the [Houston] Texans, even in light of multiple sexual assault allegations, sources said. While this would seem to go against Lurie’s edict, Hurts would have either left in the exchange or dropped on the depth chart. A move of such magnitude couldn’t occur without owner approval, of course. In fact, Lurie was believed to be the driving force behind his team’s interest, the two sources familiar with his thinking said. "Jeffrey has his principles,” an NFL source who worked with the Eagles said, "until it comes to quarterbacks.”

Unnamed sources are not reliable.

Looks like Hurts is out and Minny is starting- IT HAS BEGUN- (a QB controversy) if Minny plays well, or passes for 280+ yards.

Is this official? I know very little about twitter but I know the verified accounts are supposed to be more legitimate

"One problem with a running QB is an increased chance of injury or an injury such as this severely impacting a running QB's performance."

There....fixed 🙂

But that’s not where he got injured. Ironically our former 6’5 250pound quarterback got injured nearly every time he got the run, our 200 pound running quarterback got hurt in the pocket. Go figure.

Either way just let them both fight it out for 2022. I’d rather see that than trade assets for someone else.

Don’t agree. Someone using unnamed sources could be unreliable. Good reporters who use unnamed sources who end up accurately reporting are reliable.

This is also an in general statement, not McLane specific.

Yeah, unnamed sources have always been the typical way that insiders report on players' relationships and front-office dynamics. People aren't going to put their job on the line by leaking sensitive information and putting their name out there, and reporters aren't going to risk privileged access by they disclosing sources. Once you've spent years building up that level of trust with players and executives, you can destroy it overnight by dropping names. If you do, you can kiss your press pass goodbye and expect to never get a story to break again. Ultimately, you have to look at who's reporting it and consider their history and level of access. Guys like McLane and Gunn you can usually at least take the general sense of their reporting at face value while taking with a grain of salt the sensationalist stories, bare speculation, and statements couched in conditional phrasing that are the hallmark of contemporary sports reporters angling for Twitter clout (*cough* ESP *cough*). If anything, the report of dissension between Lurie and Roseman is refreshing no matter the way the lines are drawn, because for those of us hoping for a change in management of personnel, this is the kind of tension that could finally lead to the front-office shakeup that many of us worry Lurie lacks the self-awareness and compunction to undertake.

This is why I post articles in a thread related to it and don't start my own thread about it. I put it there to read or not read I don't give an F if someone believes it or not or how fake someone thinks it is.

Wow Hurts injury must be worse than we thought. Because I don't think the Eagles would be dumb enough to risk starting any sort of QB controversy at this point.

Eagles are the kings of creating QB controversy.

More like:

1.  Hurts' effectiveness is significantly compromised if he can't run effectively, and

2.  The team is headed into the bye week and if they give him the game off, his ankle will have 2 weeks to rest

Or Minshew lights it up for 300+, 3TD, 0 INT in a blowout win… then you legitimately have to consider who to start after the BYE.

I mean, it's pretty obvious.
