Take those assets and draft Pickett with one of them

I'm can't really argue with the "responds by sucking" comment. The Pickett one.... not all in there yet, but see what you are sayin.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Watch his tape. Imo, he's the only one worth drafting in the 1st rd. He'll destroy the combine and shoot up the charts. You'll hear more and more about him

Never trust a QB with 2 gloves.

I am called a white guy, according to how the world defines people- by skin color. I don't don't feel like a color at all. I feel like a human being. I was born with this skin color. I don't get all jammed about it. If I could choose what color to be, it would be a blend of all colors- psychedelic. ✌️

Imma head to Youtube. TY.

I'm not crowning anyone the QB for the remainder of the season yet. Minshew's first game was eerily similar to Hurts' game against Atlanta and that's also when our offense wasn't as established as it is now.  The Jets' defense isn't great and they had no tape on Minshew in our offense so they were playing on the fly. I'd be interested to see if the offense changes or if he has a similar performance if he gets another start but for now I'm not set in either direction.

It's just the world we live in now brother. Cancel culture, PC garbage. How about we all just live our lives like we use to and not worry about all this crap. Apparently that's asking too much

I admit that cancel culture, and people being overly PC nowadays is pretty annoying. However, even with whatever percentage of Cherokee you have in your lineage, you're in the minority.  There have been numerous polls done over the years, and Natives have often found the "R" word offensive by a large majority. In the polls regarding team mascots/names, the percentage of those offended has usually been by a slight margin. Either way, I don't think people who identify as White/Caucasian have any business telling minorities what they should, or shouldn't be offended by.

My grandmother for example is 100% Cherokee. She could give two ish about the word Redskin/s. Those polls are biased and I could care less. I agree with the last part. I'm going to leave this conversation at that

The fact is that enough people were offended that it prompted a change. It doesn't matter who it didn't offend.

Go Steagles!

I think Carson Strong belongs in round 1, as long as there are no major, tangible red flags with his knee.  (It's already a red flag just due to his past).

He has the best upside as a passer in the draft and it's not remotely close.

I have a question for the "Hurts deserves more time" crowd.

Clayton Thorson: 0 starts before the Eagles moved on.

Matt Barkley: 0 starts before the Eagles moved on.

Mike Kafka: 0 starts before the Eagles moved on.

Kevin Kolb: 7 starts before the Eagles moved on.

Jalen Hurts: 16 starts, still can't pass.

Why, exactly, does he have to continue to start?  Why are so many fixated on how he can improve?  If we just force-fed unearned snaps to those other out of their depth QB's too, they also would have improved in some capacity.

It's a shame that politics and tribalism affects something as simple as watching an Eagles game and seeing that Howie blew a second round pick on a QB who just isn't a very good QB. Likewise I watched countless games where Wentz played as bad as I've ever seen a QB look (dude couldn't even complete a pass to Miles Sanders less than 5 yards away) and right wing gun nuts would make excuse after excuse after excuse for him.

Maybe Hurts can stick around the league as a backup and he might get better, but I don't feel like watching his failure to make reads and execute basic NFL throws week after week. Especially when there's a better option.

i think it comes down to the core of Hurts' faults ....what is concerning is the gambling and situational awareness...can this be improved? I don't know...but in the Giants game we saw plays that should never happen..trying to force things that weren't there...this is a problem and needs to improve quickly...

I would have hoped that Hurts would have learned by now that 75% of the stuff he did in college will not work in the NFL..players are too smart and to good..and too prepared...
He has the drive,  the physical tools, and the desire to improve...but the issues i mentioned above are what need to get better if he is to have a solid NFL career...

just like with Wentz...he sometimes had the mindset:  The "gunslinger".....and it cost him and the team on occasion...

There was never any commitment made to any of the QB's with 0 starts. As for Kolb, we had Vick. If Minshew was being paid millions and had several pro bowl appearances behind him I'm pretty certain he would have been the starter this year. With Hurts and Minshew we are basically deciding on which sister we want to take to the prom.

Often used but flawed argument.

If I tell you I feel offended if you don‘t call me ‚your majesty‘ should you be forced by law to do it?

Or should you if I find enough people that want to be called that?

What law forced the team to change their name? As for calling you ‚"your majesty", as ridiculous as I think that request would be, I would do it out of respect if we needed to communicate on a professional level.

Well you are free to do what you want.

Just know I wouldn‘t grant you the same courtesy.

I mostly agree with this, but I don't think Hurts has an NFL arm.

I bet you would if you thought your livelihood depended on it.

You never answered my question....What law forced Washington to change their name?

Alright, social pressure then.

I think all the outrage is way overblown and in general a step in the wrong direction.

He's the leading rusher on the team, or he was. What the 'quarterback' being the leading rusher says is another discussion. Random Reglar (or whatever it's called) approves.

I am most surprised and pleased that you take that position, very good. I don't know any native Americans to ask their opinion. I do know that I usually take the media position and invert it. My understanding is that minority partners' pressure is what prompted the change.

Also they didn't draft Hurts to be the franchise future starter and Nick has no ties to him. He was supposed to be groomed as a good back up/gadget player. If he doesn't impress Howie or Lurie as a future long term starter why do they have to stick with him? Especially if he isn't capable of running the offense to what they are looking for.

The only one that is comparable is Kolb. He got moved on because Vick exploded.

The others were lower picks and nowhere near as talented. Hurts has shown something, namely being somewhat effective because of what he can do in the running game and he does have some good intangibles. There is upside there if he ever develops as a passer. Now I have serious doubts based on what we have seen so far whether that part of his game will come along but it doesn't hurt much to put him out there for another 4 games and have that also be part of his evaluation at the end of the year. For what its worth, I don't think he is our QB next year but there is more value in him playing than writing him off just yet.

There is no upside.  He can’t pass.  He is not talented.  You can’t be talented if you can’t pass.

Every time people talk about Hurts, all they mention is running and intangibles.  That’s pretty much the definition of not talented and low upside.

The only high draft pick there was Kevin Kolb.  He was moved on from because one of the most talented players to ever play the position was suddenly playing to his full potential after Kolb went down with a concussion.
