Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Yup. They created yet another QB controversy

What QB has been successful when he doesn't get those?

If Hurts has some success, there will be a controversy.   Of course, some of it will likely be obfuscated by Doug occasionally running the ball. ;)

And yes, the OL sucks, the coaching is subpar and mystifying at times, but something is wrong with Wentz.  He has his adversities, but really looks lost out there.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Kind of despicable that some people have already declared Hurts is a bum.

Once again with the holier than thou crap when you have crapped on Wentz since the beginning of the season. Get over yourself. And i gave Hurts a chance for three years. He didn't. You'll spend all day Sunday making excuses. "He's just a rookie"! Etc etc. I'll laugh if you blame the O line

How about we wait and see what happens before either crowning or crucifying Hurts?

We aren't going anywhere this year regardless. At least now the FO and Doug can assess the WRs and O line
to determine how much at fault they've actually been. And they can take time to figure out how to fix Wentz,
without worrying about him getting another injury. Which hopefully means he can be revamped and healthy
to start next season.

Maybe they'll bring in a QB whisperer and maybe Wentz will comply, realizing he's in a precarious place in his career.
Otherwise when his contract expires no one will want him.

And if Hurts sucks out this season, we'll know to draft a QB. This is a great draft.

I have already compiled the list of reasons they have shot down that are contributing to the teams offensive ineptitude, and I will be ready to strike on Sunday.  May have to go find some posts and have them ready to quote.

I think Doug gave Carson plenty of time to play his way out of his funk/slump. And Carson did not play his way out of it. So, make the change and see what happens. For a game, or two, or four.

I don't expect too much from the Rookie, as the Coaches, RBs, WRs, and OLine are the same.

IMO, if they bring Carson back for next year (which they will due to his $$)/the year after, etc., then the entire group of Offensive Coaches have to be gone. Start 100% fresh and clean and new.

If they bring Carson back and he’s throwing the ball too high, to the wrong team, and still taking bad sacks then that’s just another group of coaches who will be fired "trying to fix Carson.”

Never once hoped Carson would stink before a game. Only a scumbag would think that way. Something worse than a scumbag would say or write that about a rookie.

The things we do for love.

Everyone but Carson Wentz apparently........and of course Nick Foles when you want to blame 3 other teams why he looked like garbage with them.

Nice strawman. Nobody said everyone but Carson Wentz would be successful under those circumstances. But the vast majority of starting QB’s wouldn’t be the worst starting QB in the league with these coaches, these receivers, these running backs, and this oline. There are still good players at all those positions, and this coaching staff managed to win a super bowl.

I've never said Wentz isn't messing up. He's played like crap. But he's also surrounded by crap

If Doug does end up changing the offense to help Hurts then I hope a reporter asks him why the hell he never did it all year with Wentz

Carson Wentz is not last in rating or QBR.  In fact, he is higher than Nick Foles in QBR.

That might be more fun than the game.

Doug will blame Andy.

Not surprised the guy who ripped the rookie before he even started a game would not agree with my post. 🙄😂🤣😂

Oh for all you frustrated about Carson holding onto the ball to long, I can tell you from watching Hurts for three years he's about to say "Hold my beer".

You act like this will be the first time I've seen him. I'm estimating but I've seen him play about 35 to 40 games.

Makes me wonder if Wentz pissed in Doug's Cheerios this year.

Probably not, but people are in for a rude awakening if they think he's going to be a stud.

And trust me, I will gladly eat crow if he does well. I hope he does.

3 plates of crow coming up...

The plan is to hope Hurts does well, and trade him for a #1 pick. The "quarterback factory" and all that. Lurie's plan, in my opinion. It's impossible to let Wentz go. There is no confusion about what ails Wentz either... he is physically broken.

It’s hilarious that you think people should feel the same way about Wentz struggling out there for 12 games looking worse than a rookie and somehow we are supposed to feel the same way about an actual rookie if he struggles in his first game. Do yourself a favor and go become a fan of whatever team Carson ends up on.

He’s ahead of Nick Foles in one stat, congratulations.

And the vast majority of those sacks are when he’s held the ball for more than 4 seconds.

Seeing as how I was an Eagles fan before he was born I'll pass. Have you ever stopped to think " hey you can be a fan of a team AND a player!?"

I think he’s more mentally broken. Also, if Wentz is broken, we can’t trade Hurts for a draft pick if he’s actually good, no matter how much money Wentz makes.

So the one thing that bugs me about what doug said today during his press meeting with Dave Spadero, is how he says "it’s not about one guy” and "there’s plenty of it (blame) to go around” and "it’s about the team” ok so if it’s not about one guy and it truly is about the team, then why the F has peters been in this lineup over a handful of other guys that could be better and help the team be better??  That was such as BS line and it’s clear that he’s trying to protect wentz but it’s also very telling that it MUST be about one guy and that guy is wentz.  Because if you’re truly trying to make the TEAM better, mialata would have been starting week 1, alshon wouldn’t be dressing and seeing the fold over fulgham, maybe whiteside would get some coaching to help him be better, on defense jalen mills wouldn’t be here, Douglas and jones would be here, Nate Gerry wouldn’t see the field over TJ Edwards, oh and you would run the Fing football more than 9 times a game to help the TEAM move the ball down the field.

Don’t know. You seem to love that player far more than the team.
