Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Looked like he under thew 2 of the deep passes

Hard to say without the all 22 and knowing what the routes were. It looked to me like the receivers both expected the ball to be exactly where it ended up each time, so I tend to think they were fine.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

I wanted Wentz out, so that's a totally separate argument.

The only quarterback Hurts replaced was that guy so I have no idea where you’re coming from. Maybe Hurts is the guy of the future. Maybe he isn’t, but the truth is none of that matters. This football team is what it is right now. No one can tell me they had "high expectations” for this season even if Wentz was back for this season. Bottom line is you can choose to be "miserable” over things beyond your control or you can ride the wave to the playoff push. I’m done. Be miserable on your own.

Haven’t seen the all 22, but to me it seemed like he overthrew the pass to Watkins. If he actually throws it shorter Watkins probably catches that pass in stride and scores.

This is a contradiction.  If the present is all that matters, then why do you keep talking about last year?  "The football is what it is right now" and the Eagles are a team that the oddsmakers give between a 1-2% chance of winning the Super Bowl.  You are happy with that.  That's the definition of low standards.

Or, you can go with the argument you've touted all along...look at the big picture...they sucked last year and are much better this year.  Except, if you look at the big picture, you look at the future and see that they can't compete for a SB with a QB that literally cannot pass.  And this is the scenario where the vast majority of fanbases would be quite miserable themselves if they suddenly found out that Hurts was magically their guy moving forward.

I can't get excited about a plane ride that I know beyond all doubt will continue to crash every year until we get a new pilot/engine/whatever...simply because we've made it further into the flight than expected before the inevitable crash.  But if you have the capacity to watch their slop on the field with excitement simply because the record under the Eagles logo on the screen looks better than expected, then more power to you.  I can't do it.

Yup, it's tough to tell if it sailed on him and Watkins made an adjustment or if that was the route. What was nice to me was that it was eerily reminiscent of the goal line throw to Reagor.

Also, these are the opportunities we have to capitalize on. Teams will play a lot of single high zone against us to stop the running game and keep Hurts from scrambling. Those throws will be there, it's just a matter if he can keep trusting himself to throw them and the receivers can keep reeling them in.

All this yet you’re failing to realize the Eagles are in the playoff picture which means they’re in a position to compete for a Super Bowl. In a better position than a bunch of those so called quarterbacks who know how to pass that you love so much.

Yes, 1-2% apparently.  And you are happy with that.

Overall it just feels to me like he needs to be more consistent. He’s going to get a lot of the criticism because he’s the quarterback, and despite the good things he might do out the his haters will never change. As you can see he’s taking most of them kicking and screaming all the way to the playoffs. With that being the case everyone needs to be more consistent. Enough of the drops, and bad penalties too. That penalty the Eagles took on 4th down by the defense would be a killer against a legit quarterback playing on the other team.

Happier than say being Detroit who over the past decade had one of those quarterbacks you were gushing about, but couldn’t win anything with. Also I understand that this team isn’t that good. Funny Kirk Cousins is one of those types you’re probably gushing over too. Since he’s been there (and with weapons like Diggs, Thielen, and Jefferson) the Vikings haven won squat.

I think the mistakes will clean themselves up as the players gain experience, both in the NFL and in the system. All six of the skill position players are on their rookie contracts, and three starters on the oline, which is incredible when you think about it.

Agreed there’s a lot of youth to this roster and in the coaching staff. I don’t think it was realistic by anyone to expect this team to be contenders right now. Kind of like when Chip took the Eagles to the playoffs in his first season although admittedly that team did have a lot of young talent entering into their prime. This squad basically has a lot of young players and a lot of past their prime players so it is kind of an accomplishment what their doing right now. Overall I’m happy with their development considering where they came from. With three first round picks, and some salary next season they have a chance to take some real strides next season.

I question anyone who is angry that their 4 win time has climbed out the cellar into a playoff contender in less than a year.

Eagles wins are against teams with a combined 42-74-1 record.  Those teams are currently picking, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th and 14th in the draft.  Eagles have feasted on 7 of the 10 worst teams in the league.

All they are doing is hurting the future by lowering draft position.  5-6 weeks ago, people were talking about 3 top 10 picks, now the Eagles are currently projected to pick 14th ( which will be 16th when the Dolphins beat the Saints tomorrow, 20th and 23rd.  We are picking in that range that gets us some more Derek Barnett's, Andre Dillard's and Jalen Reagor's.  This team need a major talent infusion, and we have a bad GM now picking in the range were he struggles mightily.

This coming from the same dude that gushed over Wentz beating a bunch of trash teams to make the playoffs in 2019. 🙄 Anyways this is a young football team and getting playoff experience for them could be helpful. Also they have three picks which they can use to manipulate the draft anyway they choose. Ultimately I highly doubt Howie will pick three players in the first regardless of the position of their picks. Truth is none of that matters right now. That’s an off-season problem and if Howie blows those picks then he should be on the hot seat for wasting all the draft capital and salary cap space that was made.

I disagree.  This will give the owner the impression the GM is on the right track and the roster is better than it really is.

They’re the ones who told us they’re retooling to begin with. Actually the real issue if they think they’re closer would be to waste all of their capital and cap space to go out there and overpay for a quarterback like Russell Wilson. That’s the real danger of them thinking this roster is better than it really is.

Yep, I’ve said this for a while now - the softer than charmin schedule is a major reason for us being in the playoff position. And not only that, last couple of weeks, it’s been even worse as we’ve basically played PS QBs.

The GM is on the right track. Rebuilding year. 8-7. 3 1st round picks. THE CAP IS FINE LIKE I SAID. It just eats you alive that you’re wrong and have been for a year and I love it🔥🔥🔥🔥

Eagles used a last placed schedule to win the Suoer Bowl, and went to the playoffs in 18-19 by basically beating up on the crap NFC East teams at the end of the schedule those years. I ask why didn’t it bother you then, but it bothers you now?

To be fair there is a lot of bad teams this year.

Spot on and on top of this many don’t want to hpgive Howie credit, but his 2021 selections have been great assets to this football team. In fact his Most of this team right now is basically Howie picks especially on offense, and right now they’re one of the better offenses in football.

And back then it wasn’t? I mean it wasn’t called the "NFC Least” for nothing.

Yes but I'm talking about the whole league and specifically the NFC a lot of bad football

Just sound like a lot of teams (not just the Eagles) are taking advantage of bad teams. I don’t think Cowboys fans are complaining their team is demolishing WFT right now. Only in Philly we do that I guess.

If we can give the pissing contest between the Anti/Pro Hurts crowd a rest, this is actually a good breakdown of Hurts' performance from an unbiased party.

A lot, lot, lots of , lots of,  of commentary. But the in the last few seconds.... Seal of Approval...Makes me feel more confident..that I am seeing the same things as he does and liking Hurts.

I wasn't complaining I'm just making a general statement. 16 teams in the league are .500 and below so half the league sucks.

When it comes down to it you can only play the team in front of you on the schedule. The Eagles are 8-7 and in a playoff hunt. People are mad about it. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
