We researched everybody. Roseman is the King of due dilligence.

That only Miami stuff is just unconfirmed noise.

If you say so.

That we can agree on. It’s who he is.

Research AND initiated trade talks, only pulled out when Watson said he wanted Miami.

It's not, he had a phone conversation with their owner which the Texans allowed.

I'm not the only one, national reporters have been saying for months that the Eagles will go after a big name QB.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

The worst part of all this is that I still don't know if Hurts can be the guy or not. I am not defending him because I think he is great. I am defending him because I know he is young, it takes time to learn the QB position especially when he was not necessarily taught how to read defenses in college and fans are usually dumb with their opinions.

This is pretty much where I am at. I see some good and some not so good in his game. He hasn’t totally failed and he hasn’t really convinced me he is the answer either. Certain traits I love, certain things in his game infuriate me and I can’t say I’ve seen him steadily progress through the season. All that means is we just need more time to evaluate.

Right now, I’m probably in favour of flipping one of of our 1st to 2023 and deferring the QB decision (pending how we play the last two games).

If we make playoffs, maybe even win a game this whole trade talk will be off the table. I’m sure of it.

That's where we agree to disagree. I think that will only embolden the Eagles to go get a big time QB to take this team to the next level.

Yes, agree to disagree. I think both the team and the FO values Hurts a lot more than the media and parts of the fanbase does. And for good reason.

Watson wanted the Dolphins, but I think after this year they might be inclined to stick with Tua, giving us a potential opening.

Adam Schefter believes that Wilson would agree to come to Philly, I defer to him. NYG are sticking with Jones anyways, and the Jets are not giving up on Wilson after 1 year.

With Rodgers, doesn't hurt to try.

I think looking at how dominant our O-line is and the young weapons we have would be very enticing for a veteran QB.

Schefter also said about a week ago Hurts is likely the quarterback in Philly in 2022 also.

He didn't, he said he could continue to play himself into the "conversation" for the 2022 starting spot.

Give Hurts one more year to see how he improves. So far he can make some good plays, and is great with the run game and making splash runs from the pocket. He severely limits the offense though when it comes to finding open receivers and delivering consistent accurate balls with some velocity. If he can improve with this then we may have something. Decision making should hopefully improve more with time, but the accuracy will take a lot of work.

Accuracy is fine. If we get the drops under control this non-issue is fixed. Decision making is really up and down, agreed. I think that will get better with more experience.

His accuracy is inconsistent especially down the field. I don't see how it's fine right now. Not saying it can't get better, because he's already shown some progress.

If you find that funny, wait when Hurts is announced to be our starter next year. 👀

I think he’s saying the other guys aren’t a legitimate option and Hurts is basically the best of the rest. It seems highly unlikely someone not named Hurts will start in 2022. I mean we have seen a lot of talk about the Eagles and trade for high value players. Every big name they’re in the mix, but have they actually ever pulled the trigger?

What he is saying is those are the only guys that the Eagles would want ahead of Hurts. If the Eagles can't land one of them, then Hurts is the guy. Doesn't seem like they will draft a QB in the 1st and Minshew is the biggest non-QB controversy there is.

Same here and I hope they use the draft to load up on defense, sign a veteran WR and a low cost RB (would love to see D'ernest Johnson here), roll with Hurts with a year under his belt and see where we are at next year.

False equivalene

1. Both those teams actually beat good teams along the way. From the top of my head, Rams in the Super Bowl year who were great and Bills/Packers in 2018/2019. As someone mentioned earlier 7 of 8 wins are against teams picking in the top 10 next year. One is against #14. And even against those **** teams, we have caught multiple breaks by playing backup QBs or guys fresh off the street (Gilbert, Fromm, Semien)

2. The 17 game schedule works in our favour even more, given us an extra win (Jets)

Btw, the 2018/19 team were never good either. At least not by the end of the year as had been decimated by injuries. Was even a miracle we managed to beat those crappy NFC East teams, especially Cowboys who were far more talented as we had practice squad guys out there as starting WRs. Rod Davis was a a starter for christs sake.

You keep saying that it’s the same team that has gone from 4 wins to playoffs but (outside of QB play which certainly was an issue last year), the two big weaknesses from the last two years have been significantly improved this year; OL depth which has gone from a weakness to major strength and Devonte alone providing a major upgrade to WRs albeit still work to do here.

This team had the potential to do more than the 18-19 teams. Frankly both of those teams were at some point 5-7 and won a bunch of games against bad divisional opponents. This team will likely have to face a good Cowboys team with something to play for. I still don’t get why it upsets you the Eagles have an opportunity to go to the playoffs thanks to another wildcard spot. It’s not like that spot is exclusive to the Eagles in any way so there is no difference in competitive advantage. You play the team the NFL schedules you to play. The NFL chose to have divisional opponents fight it out at the end of seasons. It make no sense as to why this bothers anyone now. And you can argue that Smith makes this team better, but let’s not kid ourselves, because the Eagles receiver position isn’t that much better than it was last year, and their offensive line has had multiple players in and out of the lineup this year too. Every starter, but Kelce has missed at least a game and every starter has missed parts of games. They were on their 4th and 5th string guards against Washington last week. This team was 2-5 at one point and fought their way back into this thing. Yeah they’re beating bad team late (just like their predecessor teams did as well), but they’re also blowing out these teams too which means they’re improving.

The likelihood of any of those guys wanting to come to Philly is slim to nil. He knows it. It’s not just want Howie and the Eagles want. Everyone of those guys can write their own ticket. Wilson and Watkins both have NTCs in their contracts. Not sure if Rodgers does, but an AFC team has a far better chance of prying him from the Packers than we do. Consider this: Wentz didn’t have a NTC in his contract, but the Eagles were basically forced by him to go to the team he wanted to go to despite reportedly having a better deal on the table from Chicago. The only option of the three I would want would be Rodgers though.

As I said, Schefter thinks otherwise with Wilson, he believes he will agree to come.

If Miami is off the board, Watson becomes at the very least a possibility.

Regardless, I believe the Eagles will do all they can on their part to trade for one of them, the rest is not in their control.

As an Eagles fan do you even want Wilson, giving up multiple first, and taking up that monster contract? Also Wilson isn’t coming here, and his alleged preferred destination has better draft capital than the Eagles, cap space, and an opening at the position. With that being the case I wouldn’t want to touch Wilson, because since returning from injury he hasn’t looked good.

I would, yes. I think Wilson would be a great fit in this offense behind this monster O-line, run game, and ascending skill players.

As for his preference, I defer to Schefter on that. Also Giants are sticking with Jones, thought that was widely reported by now.

The Jets also play in NY. Of course the Giants said they’re sticking with Judge too. Doug Pederson said he was sticking with his coaches too. 😂  Yeah I gotta pass on Russ and the 40 mil a year contact. I guess Howie can alway restructure and kick the can down the road some more though.

The Eagles would be foolish to give any of those draft picks for any QB, use those picks to beef up that sorry-arse defense, if they want a QB draft Corral or Pickett.

If the defense were stout I could see them going all the way with Hurts behind center.

Jets are not in play, they will stick with their own Wilson.

Mara family doesn't play games like that, they wanted it out there that Judge/Jones would be back, they will be.

I get it, I think a lot of fans don't want Wilson, I'm not mad at that.

Yeah I just don’t think the Eagles want to make this move either and that isn’t cause I think Hurts is some untouchable player. They’re always the "team involved” yet they never get the player. They were the team who had the inside track on Jalen Ramsey. Didn’t get him. They were the team who had the best chance to land Yannick. Didn’t get him. Every year the Eagles are that team who will make that blockbuster deal, yet don’t do it. I see all this as a lot of the same. The Texans clearly wanted to move on from Watkins. If the sides were mutual he’d be here.

Wait people still believe Jalen won’t be the starting QB here next year?

That ship sailed weeks ago.

The question now is whether he will put in the work in the off-season to take another leap. He’s clearly taken a leap this year so we have some hope.

I'm beginning to believe the issue with Hurts is preparation as it is with all QB, not sure who's slow in that area, Hurts or Sirianni.

It's no coincidence that Hurts had his best game of the year and Sirianni had his best called game of the year coming off of a bye, they had more time to prepare.
