Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

I don’t trust anything about PFF, but I would post this just to anger his haters. 😂🤣😂

Sounds about the same for the Eagles, but the players mentioned certainly have a better chance ending up there than Philly, because they would prefer to go there.

So would I, I hate the effing cold

I usually defend PFF but they have been way off this year, especially ranking the OLines which is the one thing you actually need them for.

PFF and their massive pay wall is garbage to me. That’s just my opinion of the place. Nothing annoys me more than when Collinsworth is part of a broadcast and I have to see the PFF rankings of players and all of his shameless promotions of his company.

Crappopolo was like 2 bad passes away from winning the SB.  I think Hurts is better than Crappopolo.  Tom Brady has polluted people's thinking, you absolutely can win SB's with good not great Qb's and great Qb's guarantee 1 Sb at best and you can spend decades trying to find one.  Rodgers , Wilson, Brees and Roth, like 70+ years of starting Qb and 4/6 best Qb's since turn of the century and they got 4 rings between them.  That's the same amount of rings as the quartet of Eli, Foles, Brad Johnson and Flacco.  Hell, Peyton manning won 1 SB.  The corpse of Peyton Manning also won 1 SB.

I agree

Also, the 49ers went through a stretch from 2011-13 where they made two conference championships and a Super Bowl with Alex Smith and Kaepernick as their qbs.

The Ravens got 2 with Grbac and Flacco.  The Packers over the same timeline have got 2 with Favre and Rodgers.

The chances of any of them, combined, hoisting a Lombardi are 0.  Why do you want to join the purgatory club?

When the best thing you can say about your own qb is a list of bad qbs and Kirk Cousins’ record, it means you need a new qb.

Great Running QBs WIN.   Hurts is a Great Running QB.

That should be simple enough.

Hurts and the Eagles could win a Super Bowl.

Stay the course with the Running QB who isn't great at passing,  because that's good enough to win the Super Bowl.

I’m not sure if this is serious or not.  If you are joking, which I assume you are, I’m sorry that my sarcasm meter is off.

No he’s serious.

Some good DC is going to keep Hurts in the pocket and force him to throw.  Then we will see where we are.  Like the guy but sometimes his accuracy is off, even on basic throws.  You watch some other QB’s throw and it’s like night and day with Hurts.

Curious how many QBs that depend on their legs as much as Hurts have won a SB.

I can promise you the list of those that don't is substantially longer.

The 2010 Denver Broncos finished 4-12 and missed the playoffs.  In 2011, led by Tim Tebow, the Broncos went 7-4 in the regular season and won a playoff game.

Kirk Cousins is 58-59-2 as a starter.

The Broncos would be nuts to move on from Tebow, right?  That would be real stupid if they tried to upgrade from a young, proven winner, who can't pass but was present for the turn around.

Saying Jalen Hurts is Tim Tebow is absurd.

Why?

Why?

While Jalen Hurts does not have a Mike Vick arm or Drew Brees accuracy, he certainly is quite a few steps above Tim Tebow throwing the ball.

If we had Tim Tebow starting at QB, we would not be 8-7, and we would absolutely be drafting a QB or trading for one.

Is he?

So we draw the line at the bare minimum for passing squarely at Jalen Hurts and above Tim Tebow?  We ignore the fact that Hurts can't pass in the name of W/L turnaround but that doesn't apply to Tebow, because HE doesn't pass well enough?  You see the issue here...

Hurts QB rating when you look at the inflation between 2011 and 2021 ranks comparably against his contemporaries to where Tim Tebow was.

For comparisons sake:

Hurts has a 58% completion percentage with 3,849 passing yards, 21 TDs, 12 INT, 84.6 QB rating, 1,102 rushing yards with 13 TDs.

Tebow through 18 games (had to do some projections as he only started 14):

He has a 47% completion percentage with just under 3,000 passing yards, 19 TDs, 12 INT, 73.2 QB rating, 1,057 rushing yards with 10 TDs

One is regarded as a laughing stock and one of the worst to ever play the position. The other is heralded as the future by some and a top 10 QB in the league currently by others.

I dont want to hurt anyone's feelings here - Hurts is better than Tebow. Having said that, their numbers arent that different to the point where its absurd, given how the game has changed over the last ten years. We took the lowest bar possible and people think Hurts is that good? Really?

What I'm saying is Hurts is not Tim Tebow. If you think Hurts isn't good enough now and wont ever be, that's fine and a judgement call by you. But calling him Tim Tebow is just not accurate and a reach to defend your position.

The statistical comparisons are silly. I've seen the same thing comparing him to McNabb and other good QBs in the past.

This is what the Giants seemed to do both games. Worked game 1, not so much game 2. Will be interesting to see how Hurts fares against a playoff team.

Steve McNair, in his first full season (three years into his career), had a completion rate of 52 percent, threw for 2,665 yards, with 14 TDs, 13 INTs, a 70.4 QB rating, 674 rushing yards with 8 TDs. Two years later his team was in the Super Bowl.

If we are going to compare Hurts to Tebow, we also have to compare him to McNair.

No one knows what Hurts is going to be. He may be Tebow or McNair.

The difference is, there are those of us who want him to be McNair, and those of us who want him to be Tebow. Personally, I think the ones who want him to be Tebow, and who are actively rooting for it, are crap human beings. I don't get why they would actively root against the interests of their team, to the point where, on Sunday, when Hurts was playing poorly, one of them specifically called me out to gloat about his performance. Luckily Hurts turned it around, but I see that poster took no joy in that, because here he is again, crapping all over Hurts. And for what? So he can appear to be smarter than those of us who want Hurts to succeed? Not realizing that we want Hurts to succeed not because we think he is anything special, but because it would be a good outcome for our team.

But I guess it is true what they say, some people just want to see the world burn.

So good luck on Sunday. Maybe Hurts will play bad enough for you to really let me have it. And then you can smugly sit by while this team misses the playoffs and desperately tries to sort out its qb situation in the offseason, along with 20 other crap teams, going to bed at night with the comfort of knowing that you knew Hurts was Tebow and not McNair, and that if only the team, and posters like myself, had listened to you, they would have been better off, because you are so much smarter.

Well, I don't know if Hurts is McNair or Tebow. I don't pretend to have that much football knowledge. And I think anyone who does is just throwing darts, and digging themselves into a position built on a mountain of ignorance. So win or lose Sunday, I will be fine. So do me a favor, and don't @ me again if Hurts plays bad. I don't need any more crap human beings in my life.
