Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Featured Replies

Just watched the video from after the game where the railing with the fans fell.

Holy sh.. how cool can you be. He didn't even flinch, just stepped aside. Damn!

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

He has ice running through his veins. He may not be the most talented guy. He may not be good enough to be a long term starter in the league. But he's got the right temperament to deal with challenging situations.

Hurts would be more consistent if he could pass.  His game is running around like it’s recess.  Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t.  That’s why he can’t string together good games.

The other issue is that talented quarterbacks get the opportunity to suck for a couple years. 6’5” guys with howitzers.  Jalen Hurts is not talented.  He doesn’t deserve the opportunity to suck for 3 years.

During this playoff push he's strung together good games and has earned and deserve the opportunity to prove that he won't suck for 3 years.

I really don't know why people think he sucks. Is he an elite QB? No. Is he ever going to reach that level? No probably not. But he doesn't suck. He's better than a number of starters in this league and he's proven you can win with him.

Today was good.  Last week was not.  That’s not a string.

I’ve been critical of Hurts when he doesn’t play well, but I thought he was fine last week. He underthrew a couple deep balls but also had some dropped passes that hurt him in the first half. Overall I think he had a C+ performance. Not great but not bad either.

So if Hurts could put together a complete game we might actually win a playoff game.

yes

I doubt they beat any of the potential wild card opponents, but I guess you never know. Maybe Hurts has the best game of his career to date and the defensive line is able to feast to get some sacks and maybe force a couple turnovers.

6tds 5ints in the last 8 games with only 2 games of over 200 yards passing....

I went back to just look at things... He's even worse than I thought. Luckily we have a coach smart enough to cover our deficiencies, which seems to stem from the QB position. Cool, he can run. You know who else can in this scheme? Anyone.

Burrow has half of Hurts passing touchdown counts in just the last two weeks. Like come on! Why does Philly accept such mediocre QB play. Because he's an underdog story? It's ridiculous

Yeah it’s like these guys are so zero focused on their hate for Hurts they don’t even realize that the team has struggled as a whole and not just Hurts. They’re also seeming to forget how this team has struggled to put full games together since 2018.

Hurts doesn't suck, saying so is ignorant.

Hurts likely won't ever be a top QB in the league or anything. This playoff game will be a great challenge to measure not only Hurts but the coaches & entire team. This was an evaluation year and they exceeded expectations, now we get to evaluate in a playoff game. It will expose what they need to get to the next level & compete with the better teams.

If they build up defense & continue to lead the NFL in rushing can they win with Hurts? A dual threat QB who isn't the best or most accurate passer but makes enough passing plays to win?

Or is he a liability holding them back from being a contender?

I'm interested to see some answers to that in the playoffs.

I'm convinced Hurts could win the Superbowl this year and have 6 total TDs in the game and there would still be guys here saying he sucks and we need to get rid of him.

Um Foles won a Super Bowl and most of the same people who are trashing Hurts said get rid of him too. 🤷‍♂️

Is he better, or equal to Dak?  After watching this season, Hurts does all the things Dak does (good and bad), for a lot less money.

If they switched teams, I'm not sure the teams would be affected in any way.

I’m still not 100% sold on Hurts, but if he doesn’t succeed it certainly won’t be due to lack of trying. What jumped out to me in his postgame presser was when he was talking about Boston Scott coming out to Houston to work with him, and he nonchalantly mentions that he told Boston that he goes out to the field to throw at 5AM in the offseason. Kid definitely has the right work ethic to improve.

Hopefully the improvements this year push him to work even harder. He increased his completion percentage by 10 percentage points which should hopefully indicate to him that he hasn’t tapped his passing potential.

What would suck for both us and him is if he believes that he has arrived.

That’s honestly not even a slight concern to me based on what we know about his personality. He strikes me as a guy that will never be satisfied and think that he’s "good enough.”

If he can just work on that deep ball accuracy in the offseason, it will do wonders for his overall game.
