December 9, 20204 yr Count me in the minority, but I think Jalen and the team can come out with a win against the Saints. Count me in the minority also when I say it might be a beginners luck type of situation if Jalen performs well. I'd hold off on making any type of definitive declaration of Hurts' abilities, especially if he plays well, until he puts out enough film. It would be encouraging if he puts out a good performance. From what I've seen in his Alabama and Oklahoma highlights, he's shown the capacity to grow and improve. Maybe the trend can continue. 🤷🏿♂️

You would think they intentionally want Hurts to fail just to say "I told you so".....or its just they are really worshipping wentz in his one year of playing MVP level football..... Alot of the comments on this board about this situation is really starting to make my a** itch....

That's arrogance if he won't listen to others because he thinks he knows best. I agree though that I can't see him being the kind of team mate who blames others or calls others out. I tend to believe this for the simple reason that his mechanics have been broken. The coaches all see it. They are obviously trying to correct his mechanics but the mechanics haven't changed at all. That all speaks to a guy who is not very coachable. Wentz regressed toward the end of his rookie year as well and Pederson pointed to his poor mechanics as the reason. His mechanics are way worse now. The biggest question facing the Eagles is can Wentz be fixed? I strongly disagree with those here who say that if the line improves and we bring in yet more new WRs, he will magically get better...but who knows? I do think that we either move on with Doug and a new QB (either Hurts or someone else) or we bring in a new coach to try to fix Wentz. New coaches are a total gamble. I don't see us landing some veteran head coach. So we would be hoping some OC from a winning team can come in, and that Wentz will listen to whoever that is, and that Wentz can be fixed. I see a huge risk in doing that, with not a lot of chance for success.

There are people here who kept insisting that Chip Kelly was a good coach when so many of us knew he was a fraud.

I will still argue that Chip Kelly was right in a lot of things that he did. The uptempo offense, TOP does not matter, running multiple options out of the same exact play package, all the off season conditioning. He was a terrible HC but would have been a great offensive coordinator if he could have kept his ego in check.

If you didn’t want to talk about Wentz then go bash Hurts with your other crybaby buddies. Who's crying? I don't believe in Hurts, but I'd like for him to prove me wrong. Gave him props for what he did against GB, too. You must be young or have trouble with differentiating between conversations.

He ran the same 5 plays in San Fran where he won all of 2 games, and he is probably running the same 5 plays in UCLA where he has a laughable .280 winning percentage. He's a gimmick and a joke.

Only thing i want from the Chip regime is that training/sports science crew. As much as the players complained injuries were down big time.

Took the words right out of my mouth. His sports science was the best and we had so fewer injuries compared to now. That is about the ONLY thing ol chipper got right... Other than that he is a complete joke....
December 9, 20204 yr This Kid played a high level in College. 38-4 over 42 games. He played in Championship games as well. He even knows how it feels to have a backup win a Title. Yes the NFL and College are two different worlds but it's not like he was some scrub. Yes the Saints D isn't no Joke but Jalen could provide a different dimension with his skillset for this game. Again I trust Doug. I have to see his press conference but it's clear from watching several footage breakdowns including from Baldy. Jalen did even better than expected during Greenbay. This isn't going to be easy for a Rookie but Jalen is a winner.
December 9, 20204 yr Going against the NFL Top rated defense with the worst O Line in the NFL is a recipe for disaster. I do not expect an Eagles Victory on Sunday. Prediction: Saints 27 - Eagles 13.

At this point, I can't wait to see how he does.

I think he will absolutely get better. Why? Because if he is protected better and he is given weapons who make big plays then he's going to look better. But will he be fixed? No i don't think he will be fixed. His mechanics are an issue, he has flaws in his game that I don't think are going to be fixed. He is what he is. He's a very talented QB who has such flaws that he will as a result have highs and lows. And if not surrounded by legit talent then he will struggle. And ultimately that's not what you want, or need, from a franchise QB being paid so much.

But there's a very low likelihood of Hurts playing as well as 2017 Wentz any time soon. And my point was that he doesn't need to in order to be the preferred option right now.
December 9, 20204 yr I have stated I want to see Hurts play and see what he has. Wentz needed to be benched for a while. Having said that, I read this today and it pissed me off- Doug stated he is going to use the running game to help Hurts. So the question everyone should ask is? Why the hell did he not help Wentz- actually help the whole team, by using the running game, with Sanders being one of the teams best offensive weapons?? Someone needs to smack Doug upside his thick skull. How could he even say that and not expect people to get pissed off that he wouldn't even try to do that for the team and Wentz? I can't believe he actually said that. Fire this head case.

I guess the problem is there are so many holes on this team. I don’t think it will be used on the oline, tbh. Picking that high, the only oline position you’re going to select is OT, more than likely. And at OT, we still have Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata has been one of the brightest spots on the team, and we still have to find out what we have in Andre Dillard. I think more than likely it will be either: WR, DL, or CB. We know they won’t choose a LB that high, and the likelihood of them picking a safety that high is also slim.

I don’t think it’s very intelligent asset management to draft an OT that high when you have those three guys on the roster. Especially when the rest of the team is in utter shambles. Mailata deserves a chance to be the starter. We need to find out what we have in Dillard. And Lane Johnson could easily come back from his ankle injury and regain his form as one of the best OTs in the NFL. Jason Peters was the same age as Johnson when he tore his Achilles twice, and he bounced back to be one of the best OTs in the NFL for several more years.
