Bengals won one of the toughest divisions in football, and their defense gives up more points than the Eagles.

Chargers have the same record, and their defense has given up 90 more points than the Eagles.

Both team also have a higher strength of victory than the Eagles.

Just words bro. Absolutely worthless to me. Keep that hate flowing through you, though.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Actually, they are facts.  But because they do not fit your narrative, you will dismiss as just words.

Let me say it again.

Chargers have the same record as us, a higher strength of victory, and their defense has given up 90 points more than the Eagles.

Hurts gets more help from the defense than Burrow or Herbert.

Use small words and phrases for these guys.

We can win WITH Hurts, but not BECAUSE of Hurts...but these guys are just happy we don't win IN SPITE of Hurts. That's good enough for them. We'll be bucs before Brady got there. Talented everywhere but where it matters.

No narrative. I support my qb who is fighting for my team, who i also support.  Keep hating, yall. Enjoy the misery.

What part of any of which you quoted wasnt small words or phrases? Even failing at being condescending.. Stay in school, kids.

Stand up guy. True leader of men.

These guys are truly going to have a meltdown when they finally realize Hurts will be… no check that already is the starting quarterback for 2022.

So you are saying that all we need to do is to find a top qb willing to sign here as a free agent (requiring no draft capital) at a deal that pays him millions of dollars under his actual value (annual cap hits of $25 million, 15th in the league).

Okay, now that we know what you expect the team to do, how do you think they should go about this? How do we get Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson without giving up any draft picks?

I mean, your plan is great. Except for the whole "it's not even remotely realistic" part.

Yes narrative, here is your post.  You said the D is not carrying Hurts.  I merely pointed out that the two QB's you mentioned, Burrow and Herbert, are getting less help from their defense than Hurts gets from his.  Support him, do you, but don't create false narratives.

1 hour ago, EagleMatt said:

And look and their teams record vs ours. Not so different with such great qb play. Not like our D has been carrying Hurts, quite the opposite.

So my narrative was.. we're doing just fine with a garbage no talent hurts when compared to other teams with epic qbs of similar record. Got me there, i guess.

I really dont care for this back and forth with miserable fans, tbh.

Support your qb who's fighting for your team. Or continue to be in the presence of misery. ✌

Turnovers created by the defense help the offense. Turnovers by an offense hurt a defense.

We are 28th in turnovers. We are 24th in creating turnovers. Hurts helps his defense more than the defense helps the offense. Ball protection is one of his strongest traits. Failing to create turnovers is one of our defense's biggest weaknesses.

Lack of turnovers is something Hurts can hang his hat on. Young QBs have a propensity to turn the ball over often and in bunches. Outside of one game, he’s been disciplined in that area.

WTF? Herbert's D was balling out for 2/3'rds of the season.

Let the haters hate. The disappear when Hurts wins.

They have given up 27 or more points 8 times

That’s just not true. Chargers D  is one of the five worst, certainly bottom 10 Herbert is carrying that team to the playoffs. Both him and Burrow have been absolute studs at QB - you couldn’t ask for more of a young QB.

Hurts has been good and certainly better than expected but he isn’t carrying the team the same way. He is improving and has earned time to keep getting better but at this stage our winning formula has been to play great complementary football with the run game, D and efficient 3rd down / red zone conversions . If Hurts ever got to the level Herbert and Burrow are at now, we’d be set long-term at QB, and I really hope he does. Our D has actually been quite good, granted it’s because we are playing a very weak schedule but that’s been a big reason for the whole team’s success.

Our D generally lacks playmakers - this has been a weakness for a few years. While we aren’t great at creating turnovers, where they have been great this year is scoring (some of this luck), particularly in the win streak. From the top of my head Slay has what 3 TDs plus Singleton had that int score. Last I checked, think we were #2 in defensive TDs.

Agreed. We really do not force enough turnovers and we don't get enough sacks. I think last year we did but then we gave up big play after big play. This year we've not given up the big plays but that's come at the cost of sacks. Ultimately there needs to be better balance.

For as great as TJ Edwards has been this season this is why the Eagles need more explosive playmakers at the linebacker position. Gannon’s defense needs better playmakers at linebacker, safety, and better pass rush ends. Eagles current starting linebackers are both undrafted free agent guys who aren’t really known as playmaking types. Singleton has flashed occasional playmaking skills, but he’s a guy who can get exposed. The Eagles need to do something they have an aversion of doing. Go after safeties and linebackers earlier in the draft. They still need a pass rusher also.

Agreed. As far as LBs are concerned, adding one of the top ones in the draft does wonders for them. Suppose we drafted Dean (just as an example).

Suddenly you have Dean, Edwards and Taylor with guys like Singleton as depth. They wouldn't be world beaters, but addressing the rest of the D and suddenly, it's not too shabby of a group.

They really need to add two.

I don't disagree, but we aren't taking 2 LBs in the first.

Burrow and Herbert are on loaded offenses.  Bengals WR trio is the best in the NFL, Ja'Marr chase is a day 1 elite WR.  Higgins & Boyd as 2&3 in ridiculous.  Mixon is a top 5 back.  oLine is decent, does its job and defense is slightly better than Eagles.  Burrow has been great, but the Bengals are full year ahead of Eagles rebuild wise.

Herbert also has pair of well established stud 1k yd Wr's with huge radiuses in Allen and Williams, Ekeler is also a top 5ish back going on 1500 total yds.  Oline again is decent, does its job and Jared Cook on the side is solid.  Awful run defense defense but they make big plays against the pass.

Hurts has an emerging top 10 TE in Goedert.  He's got Davonta Smith, a nice looking rookie but at this stage in his career a very low end #1 WR.  Sanders is a nice back who's healthy half the time and yes the OLine got on track in 2nd half of season and has been awesome.  Everything else is role players & trash.  Decent defense with few big plays.

BTW, Bengals 10-6, Chargers 9-7, Eagles 9-7.  Now don't get me wrong,  Herbert and Burrow are certainly on brighter paths than Hurts, but there is zero evidence so far that they aren't just another Phillip Rivers and Carson Palmer.

I would settle for a linebacker and a safety.

To me they need to address all 3 levels of their defense and do it in the first (or ok maybe one of them can be a second round pick). Go and get a DE, LB and a S. Bring back McLeod and Harris, bring back Nelson and develop McPhearson for another year.
