I don't think it's as much as you think. He isn't targeted a lot and he does get open. He has 3 drops on the season. He's only had one game where the drops hurt us (vs giants). Like pretty much all our WRs, he has blocked well, which is a big part of what the coach wants our WRs to do. Clearly his overall production is disappointing, but the overreaction to that is typical. If we throw 25 passes and 13 of those are targeting Smith and Goedert, that leaves a small portion available for the rest of the receiving targets. Unless you are faulting Reagor for the ineffectiveness of the WR screens he has caught, I think play design/overall execution have been bigger problems on those plays than just Jalen Reagor.

We must be watching different games. The Reagor I see on film can't create any separation and is a terrible blocker. He's limited to the slot because he can't beat press coverage and is terrible at feeling the soft spots in zones. His route running is laughably bad. Add in the fact that he can't break tackles or make people miss, his contribution to the offense is a net negative.

Look at him compared to Watkins.

Targets, Watkins 55, Reagor 54. Catches, Watkins 38, Reagor 31. Average yards per catch, Watkins 14.8, Reagor 9.0. Total yards, Watkins 563, Reagor 280. Watkins is a fine number 3. Smith is a clear #1. Reagor is not a starting NFL wide receiver.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

I admit I foolishly watched his JJAW one….. I will never do that again. 😂🤣😂

Yeah I disagree. I don’t believe the player is reliable enough and that’s why Wentz, Hurts, and even Minshew basically ignored him. Frankly if he were more reliable the Eagles would throw it more, to him. At this point his touches are basically screens, reverses, and returns. We are also not seeing the burst of speed we have been promised he has. I think this team becomes a much better football team if they had a much more reliable option than what Reagor is currently providing.

Reagor could play better. I'm not saying he's perfect. I just think this scheme isn't going to highlight supporting WRs. As Hurts continues to grow, I expect it to open up. Whether that happens with Reagor or someone else, probably depends on how hard Reagor works to play better. I simply don't think he's as bad as some people are making him out to be. Amazon's "All or Nothing" series should be about fans instead of the players. You can pretty much take any player on this team not named Kelce and there will be a divide in the fan base on whether we should be all in on a player or move on. Just like people have made up their minds on Hurts before the season even began, people do the same thing to most of the other players.

Reagor has 12 starts this season. There are better starters in the NFL, that doesn't change the fact that he starts games. Watkins has developed nicely to this point and I'm excited about his future. If you want to talk about "film", feel free to post some showing what you see. If not, I still welcome your opinion, but I won't be  convinced to abandon mine.

Reagor "starts” games, because the Eagles don’t have any other options. Other than Smith they drafted JJAW, Hightower, Watkins, and Reagor. The only other option is Ward, and frankly he’s not a good option either. Reagor being the best of a bad bunch isn’t a compliment nor does fans supposedly being impatient with the player (according to you) has anything to do with how he’s perceived. His problem is he’s not good enough period. Let’s stop making b.s. excuses, and blaming the fans for him stinking. It’s all him.

How am I blaming fans? He starts because the coaches believe in him. It has nothing to do with how the fans perceive him. If he was sooooo bad, Ward would be starting. Ward has shown he can be a solid contributor. If you think the coaches aren't putting the best players out there to win games, then I guess you have a problem with them.

He starts, because there isn’t a better option. That doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be upgraded. Do you think he starts if there were a better option this roster?

I trust the coaches will play the best players in order to win games and prolong their own careers.

Well let’s see Reagor go out there and prove he is the best player for the spot rather than you telling me he is.

Ward is a way better option, not the answer... Still though he is for the most part reliable

For whatever the reason this team doesn’t think Ward is the answer. I think they need an upgrade at the position and not some draft pick.

I agree but, for right now? I rather Ward out there then reagor

I’ve noticed they have been using him more. I get the feeling you will see him a lot tonight. He could flip the script tonight and take over for Reagor. Fingers crossed.

I think this game is showing that Minshew is not some golden ripcord at the QB position, and that Jalen very likely is the best QB on the roster (especially with his experience level)

He starts because the team invested a high pick on him and want that investment to pay off.   He starts because management does not want to be wrong.   A move driven by ego.

This game was a pretty clear litmus test for the state of the wr position. Smith? Really good. Watkins? Good against backups. JJAW, Ward, Reagor? Not great.

We need a wr2. The Cowboys were playing backups in the secondary and Reagor was still invisible.

Get Hurts a #2 and then judge him. Teams will just focus on stopping Goedert and Smith until they do.

He’s playing with backups…

Has anyone suggested that he is?

One thing you can't argue about is Hurts has strong work ethic. I look forward to him coming out focused next week.

I think he really wants to stay a Steeler, but I hope they do make another run at him. He’s just 25 and he can play.

Smith and Devonta would be deadly..

LOL Jalen lost to them by 20 WITH the starters. Minshew didn't play great the 2nd half but it was pretty much over and a total crap show by then. If you think Jalencan'tseethefield would have looked better I beg to differ.

Dude…that was week 3. That’s a lifetime ago in terms of an NFL season.

hahaha ok we'll go with the fact he hasn't beaten one team with a winning record this year then ;) I know....that was the regular season. That's a lifetime ago in terms of Hurts apologists.
