We might be stuck with Hurts (or Minshew) for a while.

Unless we totally tank this year(which will be unlikely with the weak schedule and assuming we get three stud players in the draft), we're not gonna draft high enough to get one of the top QBs in 2023.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Where is all the trade buzz for Jalen Hurts or Gardner Minshew?

I see trade rumors for Nick Foles, but nothing on Hurts or Minshew.

I see rumors on Baker Mayfield's contract gumming up his trade with multiple teams interested.

I see nothing about Garoppolo over last 10 days. Last news, Niners want second rounder and may want to keep him.

No rumors about Eagles players? Curious.

Last I heard was a couple weeks ago where Indy was interested in Minshew.

So does no rumors make a trade more likely or less likely? I can‘t even tell.

Just wanted to stop by to remind folks to be enjoying this off-season. No need to stress. You are good at QB.

I had a dream last night that we got Mayfield for a bunch of nobodies.

I see your Jedi mind tricks.

We are NOT good at QB.

I don't know what the hell Howie and Sirianni are looking at.

We were awful at QB last year.

I posed this question on twitter and I'm curious to get takes here.

If you were the Steelers and had your picks of QBs at 20 (and wanted a QB) would you trade that pick for Hurts?

I think the fact that most people would answer that No when being honest tells you what they really think of Hurts. I'm not sure you could get more than a 3 for him and he is still young on a cheap deal with years left on it

Because you're terrible at evaluating QBs. That's why they're in the business and you're on the team's unaffiliated message board relentlessly whining from your couch about how a 2nd-round QB with 19 career starts is a complete bust before his 24th birthday.

Thanks for confirming that you're a fool, no need to waste anymore time with you today. It was embarrassingly easy to expose you.

When you need to resort to name calling, you have lost.

Ehh. I'm very down on Hurts, but definitely not a bust...just not a top 20 QB at the moment. I personally don't think he'll climb the ladder much higher than he is now, but definitely not a "bust". I say he is a backup QB with backup RB stats

Considering he was drafted to be a back up...I'd say he is on par to his draft position.

Yeah he's definitely not a bust. He was drafted to either be the back up to Wentz or a hybrid option. In his first year as the starter he helped the team win 8 games and got to the play offs.

I don't count the playoffs because of the seed, and honestly that helps the Jalen argument because then I don't throw that last game into the mix. We were outclassed by the previous Superbowl champion, and I just leave it at that. He isn't a starter quality QB atm, but will get one more shot at it this year. Nick has a scheme for him. Hopefully this off-season bears fruit, or we will be replacing him. Now if we draft a guy....different all together, but this moment now, we should prepare for whatever happens with hurts as the qb1, anxiety or excitement be damned

Hurts is not worth the 20th overall pick.  But I would want the Steelers to think he is.  I'd be happy to trade Hurts for that and roll with Minshew.

You literally brought nothing to the table but a peremptory, "DuRrRrRrR HurTz Iz BuSt CuZ i SaY sO!!!!!! I KnOw MoRe ThAn NfL CoAcHeZz!"

You're clearly not interested arguing from the facts.

"Eye test," amirite?

I don't even think you could get a 2 for Hurts now but people like to talk like he's the best option.

It depends on if the Steelers are a run first team. I think Hurts would be a great backup for Ravens

Yeah he is what he was drafted to be which is a solid backup

If Jalen Hurts is so good, where is his contract extension?

I'm no Hurts fan, but he isn't eligible until after this coming season.

First round picks can be extended to a 5th year after the 3rd year. Draft team extends their rights one more year.

Jalen Hurts was a second round pick and cannot be extended in that manner.

Depends on how desperate some team is for a QB.  If not, he hasn't shown anything to improve his original draft grades...still a good runner with a good attitude and mediocre at everything else.

I don't like to hate on him but he's a late 2nd rd pick who really never did anything to earn the starting job except be here during the Wentz meltdown. Then they avoided letting anybody else challenge (even just Flacco or Minshew).  They are wasting time with him
