Skip Bayless, who is one of the biggest Eagles haters out there, loves Jalen Hurts and praises him to high heaven every chance he gets.

That's pretty much all you need to know.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Well he was very high on him before the draft and wanted the Cowboys to get him. So what, he predicted we would draft him and was playing the long con?

I hate that clown, but that argument is pretty weak.

The best part about Jalen Hurts is how little he is compensated right now.

This gives Howie some flexibility to unscrew the cap.

Not writing Hurts off but with all the experts drooling over Willis, Pickett, Howell and Corral we might be able to grab a bargain QB in a middle
round that could pay dividends in the future, either as a back-up or trade bait or maybe even starter if Hurts doesn't cut it in the long run.

Depending on how many QBs get picked early, we might snag Carson Strong in the 3rd or 4th. He's currently undervalued - although his overall
scout rating is higher than the top-ranked QB draft prospect for 2023. His weakness is his run game but our RBs have that covered and
Strong is a solid quick-thinking pocket passer. He might be the best passer in this draft (Willis has an arm and looks great in drills
but under pressure? He was crap in the Senior Bowl.) Pickett and Ridder also look good but all three will probably go in the first.

Strong would be fantastic as a Nick Foles/Jalen Hurts type selection.  AKA take a flier on a QB after round 1 and see if they develop.  If yes, you hit the lottery.  If no, you are not married and it is no big deal to invest in another QB next year.

While Strong happens to be my guy in this draft...in a weak class...the above can be said for any of the top tier guys who don't go in round 1.  Pick your flavor.  Pickett and Willis seem to be the ones settling in with the best round 1 chances, but I like any of them as round 2-3 fliers and none of them as 1st round commitments.

How so? This is the last year that Hurts will be on that rookie salary. If they stick with him this season, they need to know for certain if he’s the guy going forward or not. If he’s just marginally better, they’re in a horrible spot. Because they’ll have to pay him big money starting in 2023.

Spotrac says Jalen Hurts contract is good for next 2 years, 2022 and 2023.

Gardner Minshew is going into the last year of his contract.

So, I think we're okay for now.

If Hurts lights it up this year, then we could try to sign him to a new contract before his last year.

Strong is the only QB that I really want out of this year's draft.  If he some how lands in Round 3... they absolutely need to pull the trigger.  I'd even say that they need to pull the trigger in Round 2 if he lands there.

Skip loves anyone from Texas.

Tua: better prospect and better in the same offense than Hurts.  Disappointing pro.

Mayfield: better prospect and better in the same offense than Hurts.  Disappointing pro.

Murray: better prospect and better in the same offense than Hurts.  Disappointing pro.

Mac Jones: better prospect and better in the same offense than Hurts.  TBD.

Hurts: Josh Allen was not good in year 2.  He needs more time.

Either Hurts gets better or he doesn't.

Either he will be our QB or not.

I would like to see him succeed.

Coach him up.

Give him WRs that are playmakers.

Build a defense that can get the ball back.

Oh look ... a list of young QBs trying to get better.

Glad we have the worst one on the list.  Great things ahead.

It's not shocking but still disappointing that a portion of the fanbase thinks it's no big deal to waste 2 years on a QB that was never a good bet to start with.

Don't worry.

We have Gardner Minshew.

If Hurts can't do it, Minshew will save the day.

Smith was open a lot and Hurts missed him

Anything else?

Give him the ball at the opponents 20 yard line every drive

Have the opposing defense play without cornerbacks and safeties

Let the Eagles play with two extra offensive linemen

Hell, reagor was open a lot too lol going back and watching all 22 film, I have grown more confident in Nick's play calling, and less in Hurts execution to that plan. People would run open and Hurts would be like "nope, taking off"

If we fix the WR and the Defense, then we have done everything we can do to make the team successful with Hurts.

And, if he doesn't succeed, then we have Minshew.

Minshew will win the SuperBowl !!

There is never going to be a perfect team, but, that said, after we fix all this . How long do we give Hurts?

Until Hurts gets benched.

If we DONT draft a QB in this draft, and if we dont pick up a Veteran (stays basically Hurts and Minshew)

They will keep Hurts in all year unless he either gets injured, or has 5 turnovers in one game, he could get benched. ButHowie will want to get every last bit of Val;ue he thinks he has in Hurts after Howie drafts a new QB next year, so he will want Hurts being a starter at end of season for trade purposes, to drive the value higher. (Garbage time stats against crappy opponents will only help his value)

If it was me- Hurts would have 4 games- after that he has to earn them.

If you really like Strong, why not take him in the first or second round?

If you think he will be a starter one day, does it matter when you pick him?

Worried that Mel Kiper will criticize us on national tv?

"Oh, wow. Howie Roseman and the Eagles just reached there . . . "
