You’re right bud and I already know that there’s no chance you will ever like Jalen Hurts regardless how he plays.

I don't dislike Jalen Hurts at all.  I just don't think he is very good at being an NFL QB.

I watched Wentz and I thought I saw a top three player in this league. I was wrong.

Tell me all the Eagles QB records that Wentz holds, then tell me all the ones Hurts holds.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Wentz played quarterback for the Eagles for several years compared to the only two of Jalen. It doesn’t matter if you like the person. As I stated you don’t like the player and you haven’t refuted the fact I wrote he can do nothing at all for you to change that stance.

Sure he can.

Have an NFL arm.

Go though NFL reads.

Make NFL throws.

Beat good NFL teams.

Look functional in an NFL playoff game.

Stay in the pocket until it actually collapses

So how many times does he need to show this to you for it yo be acceptable keeping in mind that no quarterback is perfect and all of them make mistakes?

25+ throwing tds/10< ints  4000 yards passing with a 64% + completion and make it to his third read before taking off with better footwork and ball placement this year for me

Personally for me tangible numbers are quite meaningless. Heck Hurts throwing for 4000 would only be the second time that happened in franchise history so that shows it has nothing to do with actual winning. We have also seen guys like Sam Bradford complete over 70% of his passes and it led to absolutely nothing. For me to fully buy into Hurts I need to see the clutch side of the game. What is he doing when the game is on the line when it matters most? Is he making winning plays or is he just piling up useless numbers? This is what matters to me.

That level of argument is the same defense that Tebow fans made. Making THE play at the right time....id rather have a guy who can get us to 21 in a hurry and allowing the defense to pin their ears back and then use the short lass game and run game to eat clock. Hurts this year's pass numbers were heavy end game because the QBs I described did that and then they played a prevent. He played worse than his numbers showed so the numbers im pointing out would mean he got us into leads as a QB instead of throwing when the other team quit.

But it wasn't, because there were already early signs that Wentz was not up to the task. One of the holes to fill was backup QB.

No, it's not racist, because they did the same thing to Foles. I think it's a matter of wanting style over substance. Fans want the "sexy" pick, not the logical one.

I don't recall many fans as being down on Foles. I'm sure there were some, Foles would never rush for 800 yards per season, that was certain. When Chip announced the trade I was like "Chip what in the FFxk are you DOING ??!!?" I'm skeptical about Hurts because no matter his other attributes - and he has many - if he can't pass the damn football well he's not an NFL quarterback full stop.

For me numbers are superfluous. Winning is what matters.

Numbers are usually accumulated in winning efforts. Only person I can think of who gets tremendous numbers with out winning a lot is cousins, and I question the coaching he's had for pretty much his entire career. Jalen had lower back up QB numbers last year and that was end of game fluff propping even that up. I am hopeful this year he can move into the next tier which is adequate starter. I'd actually be fine with a 24/12 3800 yards if he truly is going through his progressions and is learning the position. I want to see him play QB, not guess his way through

I'm sure it will... Brady is learning how to escape the pocket to run to his right.

And he cannot do any of that.  So you are wrong and they are right.  He can not to anything at all to change your (or my) stance.

Tom Brady is one of the most obnoxious, ruthless, and selfish competitors in the history of professional sports.  Imagine how either wildly BS filled the report is or how bad Hurts must be for Brady to be willing to help out a QB on a playoff team in his own conference in his last year playing for a SB.

My projected stats for Hurts in 2022: 64.6%, 4,046 yards, 26 TD passes, 10 INT, 714 rushing yards & 8 rushing TDs.

So 8 more total tds, a huge jump in completion percentage and almost the same amount of rushing with way more passing yards? Literally expect him just to be that much better everywhere?  This would literally be top 3 all time dual threat seasons.

I’m with you there. He had a very bad showing for his first playoff game, but he did make the playoffs and that’s way more than some with much longer careers have. As I’ve written before I’m not sold on Hurts. I’m just not ready to write him off just yet either. Overall I believe this is a very important make or break season for him at least as it comes to the Eagles. He’s going to have every opportunity to prove he belongs. If he fails then he’s probably gone.

Kurt Cousins has put up monster numbers for years and he’s never won jack. Numbers are a joke. Do you want to know what numbers really matter when it came to Carson Wentz? It wasn’t his meaningless 4000 yards he put up that one year and quickly got bounced out the playoffs. No it was in 2017 in his making numbers on third down conversions and red zone scoring. That’s winning football.

So when he actually goes 62.5/3500/18TD/12INT plus the rushing stats of a big back (which is all an improvement), will you agree his time is over?

Double standard, no?

Those meaningless 4000 yards were a large part of why that team made the playoffs... but that means nothing.   Hurts, on the other hand, gets credit for making the playoffs and no mention of 'quickly got bounced out'.    🤔

Objectivity?  Nah, you just have your hatred stance and can't see anything else.   These were back to back posts.  That's the most ironic part about it.

Yes, those are others that are obnoxious and selfish competitors.  Brady fits right in.

Maybe I just disagree. I'm as tired of "hearing about" Brady as everybody else, but I don't find his approach to be selfish. He's competitive like all the greats and it drives him to put in the work to get to the top and remain there. He never tanked his team because he craved attention. If by "obnoxious" we really mean "always successful and we're tired of it," then yeah.
