If only Hurts could complete a pass over 17 yards.....it''ll be the same next year...mediocre stats, a few  wins, be called a runner not a QB, have a couple important passes, and the enablers will shout, give him another years...no real receivers want to come here because he simply cannot throw NFL passes, even though he seems like a nice enough guy

There are running QBs and passing RBs. Guess which one he is.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Even though as this past season went by this past year, he ran more and passed less.

Do you think that is because we were running the ball at a historical level?

Because we had to? How did the first 7 games work out? Would it have been better to continue the last 10 games as the first 7 games went? We may have been 6-11 or something. OTOH we would be picking higher in the draft so there's that.

No.  I think it was because the coaches recognized that Hurts couldn't handle what they were asking him to do in the passing game.

Notice, I specifically said HE was running more.   HIS running is the issue, not the RBs running.  I am all in favor of having the running backs run the ball to take pressure off a young QB.  Sign me up for that.  BUT... that doesn't mean that I ever want my QB running the ball as part of the offensive game plan.

Back to needing the rushing to make a point lol I win

Even if those were all passing numbers he would still be 9th in yards passing and 11th in throwing touchdowns. Looking at it that way says he has a long long way to go

So we are adding rushing TDS and discounting certain ints. Can I deduct touchdowns that were accumulated after the game was out of hand?

Not allowed to count the touchdowns that were a huge miss either. Only the intercepted ones...

He can't complete a pass over 17 yardS?

He was 21st in the NFL in passes over 20 yards.  And every QB in the NFL with fewer also had fewer pass attempts and games.  27th in the NFL in passes of 40 or more and, again, every QB in the NFL with fewer had fewer pass attempts and games.

He'd be a below average deep ball passer for a backup QB.

Not with ANY level of consistency

Is it concerning that Hurts has fewer completed deep passes than every single QB in the NFL who played as much as he did?

No because he's a leader and the guys in the locker room love him and he needs 1 more off season, just look at Josh Allen.

He needs to up his SWAG game a little though.  Minshew has already fired the opening salvo.

So he was pff's 11th ranked qb for the year.  Imagine what his ranking will be once he improves in this are to the norm.  You are looking at things as if improvement is impossible.

I'm looking at it as scraping the bottom of the barrel to become below average isn't the improvement I'm looking for. He isn't good at what quarterbacks need to be good at. Your idea of a running QB ruins careers over and over again. If you aren't a passing QB, you are on borrowed time

Also, didn't you take enough abuse yesterday? Seen everyone got on you after I took off for my daughter's baby shower

And since you want to use the one source who has him that high (everywhere else has him 17-18ish), my question for you is what measurements they used to get him up there because all their measurables as a QB, he was low ranked.

Does it help typing out your laugh? do you type out all your emotions?  There is a huge difference between cunningham, mcnabb, and vick being mobile and having the ability to scramble vs planned runs.  The wentz injury was one of the flukiest injuries of all time.  If you're worried about injuries don't play football.

I asked you point blank why you thought running td's shouldn't be relied upon and you said sustainability.   You provided no proof of that and I turned your point against you and you said i take it out of context?  Td's have a high degree of variability and it doesn't matter where they come from as long as you get them.  Jalen hurts could have 50 1 yard td runs next year and pass for 0 and win the mvp.   You are very old fashion and narrow minded in what a qb can be.

Running backs generally have short careers. Some feel that most RBs shouldn't get a 2nd contract. Why is that? Injury? Wear and tear? Huh. Quarterbacks are afforded protection that other ball carriers don't get as long as they stay behind the line of scrimmage.  Can you remember a roughing the passer penalty where the quarterback was beyond the line of scrimmage? Me either. Once a quarterback is beyond the line of scrimmage the target on his back is just as big as any other ball carrier. I'd prefer that the most valuable/highest paid player on my team not have the same sized target on his back as a 3rd string running back.

I recall stories about the game being very fast for young QBs and over time the game slows down. Hope Hurts gets better because he may be all we get next year.

Fortunately Hurts is not and never will be the most valuable player on the field.

You'll eat those words when we try him on punt returns.

Hurts huggers will be upset with you.:D I was speaking more of the position than the player.

I think the correct term is Squirt for Hurts 🙂

I figured as much, ha.

Thursday night. Hurts Huggers gonna keep their tissues close by in case Howie takes a QB.

Feeding rumors from some fans that AJ brown might be traded to the Eagles, he's entering his contract year.
