All this talk about receivers not wanting to come here because of the quarterback well it feels like this one came here precisely cause of the quarterback.

Lol I'm sure the 100 million dollar contract had nothing to do with it.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Not only did they not take a qb, they traded for Hurts' best friend.

Smith, Brown, Watkins and Goedert are arguably one of the best groups of pass catchers in the league.

And we will know whether or not Hurts is the guy after this year, and have two first round picks next year to get a qb.

Thursday night. Hurts Huggers gonna keep their tissues close by in case Howie takes a QB.

For all the noise I made about taking Kenny Pickett, the Eagles did what they said they would do and stuck with Jalen Hurts.

I guess I get to eat some crow for being a hater.

He could’ve gotten that from anyone.

Hurts has been put in a fantastic position to succeed next season. He has everything a QB needs: O-Line, weapons, run game, offensive coach etc.

If he can't elevate his play substantially, then it's clear that he just can't. At that point break the bank to trade up for a QB.

QB needs the D to make some stops.

We need to keep drafting Defense.

Apparently not Tennessee

Their loss is our gain.

I won't argue that. I'm not mad about the trade at all. Either hurts picks it up, or we become a destination next year

I’m not a believer in Hurts, but I really wish he would prove me wrong. Because with this line and these weapons, if Hurts manages to take a giant leap we would be in a great position. And still would have two first round picks next year and not have to use one on a QB. That would be huge.

And if Hurts does not progress and they decide to replace him, you then piss off his buddy who you just gave a big contract to.  You also have to battle with 4 other teams who have multiple first round picks to get the QB you want, and with next years QB class looking to be strong, just the two 1sts may not be enough to trade up and get your guy.

Well I personally think the Saints are going to be awful this year, so I expect that pick to be very high.

I feel like this post is missing one of your legendary "the Eagles cap situation is going to ruin this team" tantrums. Please try to do better.

I see you're handling this as expected.

He didn't choose to come here he was traded. Your point is foolish.

This team has everything it needs to be dynamic offensively.

Have not seen the numbers yet, will address the cap ramifications when I know what they are.

I am handling it fine, just stating facts.

AJ Browns best year was 2020, so for this to be a success, Hurts has to be as good as Tannehill that year.

65.5 completion percentage, 3800 yards, 33 TD and 7 picks.

What is going to be the impact on DeVonta Smith if AJ is dominating the ball ??  Remember, our second leading receiver last  year had 76 targets.  Do you think DeVonta will be happy losing 20+ targets next year ??

You've reached peak Negadelphian status. Congrats!

Not really.

We can fill at least 3 of those positions with a FA signing and the remaining picks.

If hurts is poor this year we have 2 firsts to trade up to get CJ Stroud or someone next year?

Not sure how thats setting us back 5 years or are you just being a drama queen?

This team sorely needs young defensive talent.  Hopefully Davis is the stud he's projected to be, but he's replacing Cox...the last and only stud defensive player they've drafted.  That's great, but they desperately need young star talent in the secondary.  Cheap free agents signed after the draft aren't the answer.

Hopefully he doesn't screw up the 2nd and 3rd rounds because he traded away 6 picks to get 2 players after preaching all offseason about acquiring assets to build the roster.

Why is that, because I can see the limitations of the QB.  Do you think Devonta is going to be happy being 3rd fiddle in the offense and getting less than 80 targets ??

Do you really think Hurts is going to take a huge step forward and throw the ball 35 times a game successfully ??

At this point, I desperately want it to happen, otherwise this thing will blow up.  You will have Devonta unhappy about a lack of targets, AJ Brown unhappy when they replace his buddy at QB.

No doubt there are zero excuses for Hurts this year.  Lurie doesn't want a running offense he wants explosive pass plays and scoring.  Hurts missed open guys a lot last year and was a one-read QB.  Now he's got Brown, Smith and Goedert plus Watkins going deep (and JJ-LOL blocking to make it all happen!).  Good group of RBs too and last year's top rushing offense.  Solid O line.

Your disdain for Hurts seems to have infected every part of your perspective on this team. You can't even be happy about having Brown and are going so far as to twist this into being a bad thing for Smith.

Hurts now has no excuses, and needs to have at least Ryan Tannehill production.  He is not an upper echelon QB, so I do not think expecting this from Hurts is unreasonable.

And before the Hurts Huggers start in on "but his rushing" Tannehill ran for 266 yards and 7 TD's in 2020.

That is almost 4100 total yards and 40 TD's in 7 games.  That is with Derrick Henry rushing for 2027 yards while leading the league in carries, by more than 100 over 3rd place, for the #2 rushing offense in the NFL.

To expect hurts in his third year to have the same output as tannehill in his 10th year is ridiculous.

Are we expecting tua to have as many yards as Tom Brady too?

of course he has to improve and if he doesn’t then he’ll lose his starting qb role next year. I’m sure he knows this and hopefully can do something about it.

You're really grasping at straws now. Tannehill's performance from two years ago is a completely arbitrary standard for determining whether Hurts and Brown will be successful as Eagles, and the idea of Smith, a guy who's had a pretty impeccable reputation for professionalism coming out of college, is suddenly going to become a malcontent over target share is just silly.

No excuses now. And they just gave 100 million to a receiver. Siri is going to make him throw the ball.
