Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Featured Replies

There are now 3 QBs that can take Jalen’s job. Why so many? Ask management.

Where there is smoke there is fire.

Hurts has earned nothing so far.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Nope. I’m sure Jalen had little to do with him coming here.

Definitely was involved in getting him here. I am far from a Jalen guy, but his relationship with Brown influenced him getting here

I feel it's a built in fail safe. If hurts craps the bed, they have someone cheap and capable to hold the forte down until the next guy is drafted and ready.

It could take most of the summer to move a QB. Other teams need to sort through their options. QBs get hurt.

Mayfield and Garropolo are on the QB market. And many teams with needs drafted a player.

Wait and see.

What's wrong with you, making sense in this thread?

Perhaps they just undrafted the next guy.

Didn’t you see Debo just turn down a contract? What do you think only the Eagles could pay this guy? AGAIN IF HE DIDN’T WANT TO CATCH PASSES FROM HURTS HE WOULDN’T HAD SIGNED THE CONTRACT!

(1) Maybe he's not concerned with catching passes from Hurts beyond this year.

(2) I'm pretty sure there's nothing reported in his contract that says his pay varies with who is throwing the ball to him.

Good possibility. Hurts playing style leaves him vulnerable to injury. Could just have multiple back up plans

You are right Hurts hasn’t earned anything.

But seriously, you think Minshew and two UDFAs show a lack of confidence? Come on.

The Eagles are not sold on Hurts. Stocking up picks for 2023 is an indication of that.

But he’s going to get 2022 to show what he can do.

Let’s hope he seizes it, because it will. E great for the Eagles if he does.

The Eagles draft capital is what got him here.  If the Packers offered both of their firsts, the Titans would not have given a crap about Hurts or Browns feelings and traded him to Green Bay.

That's a fair point too. Question I have is would they of went after him specifically without Hurts. Trust me, I'm not defending Tebow 2.0 as a QB at all, but I feel their relationship had some level of influence

Maybe, maybe not.  But a first round pick plus for a second round WR will get any teams attention.

Them holding on to minshew is having a great backup so the teams ability to remain competitive stays intact when the running back goes down. Strong without the knee issue would of been one of the top 2-3 QBs off the board.

Especially when you can get a cheaper version with that pick. Trust me, I get it. I'm not even all that excited about acquisition right now. It isn't even Brown's fault, just not confident in the running back getting it there

Come on - Brown is a top 10 WR, it doesn’t matter where he was drafted. And he had to agree to the extension as well.

Top 10?

Yeah, bet they had to really twist his arm to make him the 4th highest paid WR in football.

And this whole Hurts and Brown friendship is not a positive.  It could turn into TO and McNabb, DeVonta could feel slighted that he isn’t being targeted for non football reasons.

He wasn’t top 30 in catches, yards or TD’s last year.

Come on dude - Brown is top 10, he was injured for 4 games last year otherwise would have been right up there.

Stop finding negatives in anything Hurts related. TO/Mcnabb comparison - come on.

Hurts has this year and if he’s not good enough, you will get your wish.

I think we've become so scarred by injuries that now if a player misses a game we panic. Players miss games and yes that's not ideal but it's a physical sport and that's going to happen unfortunately.

Yes, that sixth for Minshew and the undrafted dude with the bad knee - Hurts sure is in trouble.

Hurts' performance as a QB has him in trouble.

If he doesn't improve this year, they will see what the next up QB can produce.

Doubt it. Unless he really sucks like Wentz in his last year they will give the season to him before he gets replaced.

And no if he gets replaced afterwards it‘s not by Minshew nor Strong.

I don‘t see it though. With this offense people here better be ready for Hurts to stay. For a long time.

You say with such confidence what is speculation.

Have you confirmed this with Howie Roseman and Jeff Lurie?

That‘s me. Always rather make a point and butt heads. Feels more productive.

Yeah, literally nothing to do with why A.J.B. is here long-term.

A.J. Brown: 'I get to play with my best friend, I'm so excited'

A.J. Brown seems very excited to play with his "best friend" Jalen Hurts.

The 24-year-old new Eagles wide receiver was spotted arriving in Philadelphia at the airport by John Clark aka Johnny Airport of NBC Sports Philadelphia on Monday morning.

"I get to play with my best friend, it's going to be real special." Brown told Clark. "I’m so excited, playing with someone who thinks like me. I talk to him every day regardless of this football stuff."
