Yeah, literally nothing to do with why A.J.B. is here long-term.

Did he have a no trade clause?

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

So no and he came here for the money. Playing with his friend is just a bonus

To believe that Hurts' status as the starting QB had no bearing on agreeing to a deal before he even played a snap would be either blind or willfully ignorant.

Hurts status is questionable in the long term and Browns contract is for the long term. Thinking Brown just came here for Hurts is willfully ignorant

AJ Brown just got paid.

By comparison, Jalen Hurts hasn't really gotten paid yet.

And, the Eagles may decide that he isn't the long term solution and decide that they will not offer any significant extension / payday.

I neither said nor think that.

Hurts still has 2 years remaining on his contract.

Define "his range."

AJ Brown has never seen his arm in a game, he has seen it in Tshirts and shorts with no defense.

I've seen him in games, and I think his arm strength is just fine. It's by no means elite, but it is more than adequate and can still be improved.

You can not improve arm strength.  You can improve mechanics, but his arm is what it is.

False.

With consistency or just how far? Consistency 15-25 range, deep ball? I would say can hit 50 in the air, but it will hang out there to give the defense looks at it consistently

Okay....so Jalen is a work out junkie. You telling me he has taken it easy up to this point and that he hasn't neared his max? Now I feel like you aren't giving him credit now for maximizing himself

Improvements at this point would likely be marginal, but like I said originally, the "lacks arm strength" claims are overblown. He has enough arm strength to win you most games. If he can improve his timing, footwork, and decision-making, a lot of other things will fall into place.

I can agree on about all of that. His timing and footwork drives me insane. The decision making I'm always a little more relaxed on because that comes with time. I just think the top two will leave him with little time to fix the other

Hurts has the arm. Of those 4 clips I posted above (1 of which was 59 air yards), some passes were on time, one was late. He doesn't lack the strength to make those throws. He gets as much air as Russell Wilson. The difference is Wilson doesn't hesitate to make that deep throw. Hurts did too often last year. It's a trust thing with him. That is correctable with coaching and experience.

Their highlights. They are meant to make him look great. I watch the game, not ESPN afterwards. He under throws plenty enough for people to be allowed to question his arm strength because it's behind enough. I think it's because he doesn't trust what he sees until it's too late. His arm is enough for the NFL, but it's really nothing special.

Those aren't stats. They are rankings. They are still important in evaluation, but rankings don't tell you what happened on a play. That graphic you guys like to repost every page doesn't explain the qualifiers to the rankings either and it conveniently doesn't list any favorable rankings where Hurts ranked much higher. I get that we're talking specifically about deep passes right now, so let's just say those rankings are extremely relevant. But my point is that he has the arm strength. His accuracy could improve, but It's my contention that if he just makes the pass without hesitating , his statistical accuracy will go up. Every hesitation allows defenders more time to make a play which they were doing last year.
