My expectations?  Again just elevate from last year.   People have all these arbitrary numbers and stats of what Jalen should or shouldn't do. Sure you want his Stats to go up but to me there's not a magic number outside of winning.   At the end of the day.  When week 18 hits.  Did they win the Division?  Are they in the Playoffs?  Did they get the #1 Seed and Bye?  Did they win in the Playoffs?   Are they in the NFC Title Game?  Are they back in the Bowl 5 Years Later? It's about Levels.   He help to lead us to a Wild Card just like Donovan did in 2000 during his first year as the Starter.   Donovan did win his first Playoff game (Ironically against Tampa). 

The very next year, Donovan and the Team won the Division and two more Playoff Games along with going to the NFC Title game.  So after Year 3, 3 Playoff Wins, Division Title and NFC Title Game Appearance.   That's progression.   That's what I mean about elevation.  I'm not saying Jalen has to be Donovan.  I just want to see him keep progressing and the team not take a step back.  It's about doing better each year.  9 Wins was nice after coming off 4-11-1 season.  So many people thought they would flop and they turned it around.   Now it's time to elevate from that.  But I'm very excited and Jalen really did earn this opportunity to continue to Lead in this role.

If I worked with professional coaches, went to meetings, and worked out for a year...I could be a better QB next year than this year.  And if I staged my work right, I could probably be even better the year after that.

I'd still be a pop warner level QB, but I'd keep improving.

Since we don't have Joe Montana playing ahead of him, maybe Hurts can get that playing experience / growth expedited.

I really love how the entire crux of their argument rests on this is  his second year as a starter.  Like the guy hasn’t played QB since high school.  These are not cleaning some things up for the NFL issues, these are things that should have been solved long ago.

Just because a couple players out of dozens land in a perfect situation for them and have what appears to be immediate success, does not make that the normal progression for most young players.

If you had a free trip, first class, to the Four Seasons in Rome…but knew beyond all doubt the pilot was going to crash the plane into the Atlantic 3/4 through the flight…would you go nuts over the pilot or would you be able to distract yourself by analyzing the nice champagne and caviar they serve you at take off?

Imagine that... a player got benched and sat behind one of the greatest QBs to ever play, coached by one of the greatest QB coaches of all-time and actually learned how to play the position properly...  check out the quarterback he was in Tampa and what he became in SF.  Not the same guy at all.

It's ok.  He's had a relationship with Brian Johnson, an NFL QB coach, for his entire life.  And now they work professionally together.
