Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

I trust that you will post the pics. You're like the sugar daddy of hoarding GQ man pics.

Ooohhh, you got me… I’m hoarding all the pictures on my very own internet.

Its your obsession remember?

Awesome Photo I saw for the Inquirer today.   Very proud of Philadelphia for always supporting and nurturing African American Quarterbacks.

And Rodney Peete was in Philly for 3 years as well, mostly as backup. Played in 15 games, started 12.

Yeah, I noticed they forgot Rodney.   Also Vince Young played for us. In the Early years  George Taliferro also played for the Eagles and Cliff Brown was on the Practice Squad.  So the organization has a long history.   At this point the Eagles most likely have the most starts with an African American Quarterback.

80's (Randall),

90's (Randall/Rodney/Donovan)

2000's (Donovan)

2010's (Donovan, Vick, Young)

2020's (Hurts).

Vick was drafted #1 overall by the Falcons and the eagles gave him an opportunity to play again.

But, the Eagles have invested their own draft picks as well.

McNabb #2 overall.

Cunningham and Hurts were both 2nd round picks.

And then there is HC Ray Rhodes.

Howie's front office is also one of the more diverse staffs.

I think McNabbs last year starting here was 09. Definitely love the history of this franchise and it's support of black QBs. Up to this point, they have had great success with them as well, not just out there to be out there for a PR stunt. McNabb with 5 NFC championship games and a Superbowl appearance, Randall and Vick being the ultimate weapons when hot, hurts being a top 10 running back.

Vince Young too!

But who won the Super Bowl, and this is not a race thing, it is a type of QB thing.  The pocket passer won the Super Bowl.

Oh definitely. Mobility is a last resort skill for championship QBs. If Rodgers wanted to be a QB who collected a bunch of yards, he could do it every year...he rather get 13 wins and an MVP or two. There are quite a few QBs now how who could with tremendous success, but choose to stay in pocket. not saying you need to be Brady to win the ring, but you need to be a QB 3-4 reads before you think of being a RB

Vince Young played 5 years at TEN.

Played 6 games, started 3 for Eagles in 2011.

???? Nick Foles has rushed 399 yards in his career and thrown for 14000.... pretty sure that's a pocket passer

Playoff run to the title, Foles had 971 passing yards and -2 rushing yards.

I'm laughing at the ridiculous obsession.  There's so many things that go into a team winning a super bowl. The Broncos won back to back super bowls running the ball with a pocket passer in Elway throwing for a whopping 123 yards with 1 INT in one of those wins. But hey, let's keep up with the narrative that you can only win one way 😄

The next running QB to win a Super Bowl will be the first.

The next running QB that has continued playoff success will be the first.

No sane Eagles fan would doubt the magic Foles had during that run. The only thing I'm mocking is the ridiculous narrative. We've seen plenty of pocket passers fail hard in the SB. Being a pocket passer doesn't have much to do with actually winning the SB.

Being a running QB definitely prevents it though

Yeah, IF Hurts gets there by running a ton it'll be impressive.  We have seen prior "running" QBs transition (Russell Wilson) go on to win the SB, but he didn't win solely because he was a pocket passer.  The funny thing is that he lost a SB he should've won by being a pocket passer instead of either running himself, or handing it off to Marshawn.

Yeah, how dare those pocket passers that failed lose to better pocket passers.

Argument is so flawed because I don't think Nick Foles, nor Eli Manning is a better pocket passer than Brady, and Eli beat him twice 😄

Foles made the plays, with his arm to close the game.  Eli made the plays, with his arm to close the game.

I already know what the argument would be if Hurts did win running. It'd be "we won due to the defense" or crediting every aspect of the team but him lol.

It was mainly their defense that won those games, but yes, Eli was a part of the wins. That still doesn't help your argument of losing to better pocket passers. Neither QB is better than Brady.

It's an offensive driven league. If hurts was productive in the game and we won, he would get the credit. It's pretty ridiculous to think otherwise. I've already said if he could put up kirk cousins numbers, who many of you for some reason think Hurts is already better than, then I would say give him a blank check and move on. I just don't think he has it in him to be that level of a passer. If you need to use total numbers to defend your quarterback, then you totally need a new quarterback.
