Hurts did his thing, his connection with AJ is legit. 330 yards and 31 points is as good as you can expect from someone as talent limited as him.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

He ran 17 times. LOL.

16 times.  The last one was a kneel down.  ;)

Hurts was 18 completions on 32 attempts, 243 yards.

0 TD 0 INT

17 runs for 90 yards

1 rushing TD

I’m not impressed.

Why would you be? He will be tied for dead last in passing touchdowns after week one lol

I'm happy overall with how Jalen commanded the offense.   Jalen is a playmaker and weapon.   AJ is going to change this Offense so much.  It's already happening.  155 Yards for an Eagles WR....What?   He going to make Jalen much better than last year and it's already showing.    There were a few passes I think he should have done better on but overall he had the Lions number just like they did last year.   As for the "Should he run, shouldn't he run".   Jalen has trust his instincts.   A couple of those runs saved drives for us today.   I want Jalen to use the running when he has too but always try to utilize his weapons first.   Overall I give him a solid grade for today but always room to keep improving.   1-0 Baby.  Let's go.

7 yards by all the other WRs combined.

That's the worry for me.... What happens when AJ gets taken out of a game?

He did just ok. Definitely our weakness on offense. I'm just hoping he gets better

Look I'm disappointed Devonta didn't get in on the party too.  But AJ was the hot hand today.  Dallas had 60 yards so don't forget that.   Obviously Devonta not having a catch stands out.   Give Lions D credit they did some things and AJ just bullied them out there.   But I don't think Devonta has zero catches again this season.  Look in no way am I saying it was perfect, but I was pleased with the distribution overall and the fact we had 4 Rushing TD's again but by 4 different People was cool because it shows how many weapons we have for the redzone.

Smith dropped on and had a catch nullified. Was was on him, the other just bad luck.

Yeah that's disturbing that he barely looked at Smith. Did Watkins even play? Hurts gotta get better at spreading the ball around. Seemed like if AJ wasn't open he used Dallas as his safety valve

This quote from AdamHermann sums it up for me:

"Hurts had a solid game Sunday - 18-of-32, 243 yards, 90 rush yards and a touchdown on the ground - but he wasn't spectacular, and I felt like I was watching re-runs of his games from last season in both the good and the bad.

We heard so much during the offseason about how he would benefit from being in the same offensive system for a second year, how he would be able to step his game up with an improved supporting cast. But I can't say I saw any of that on Sunday. He still looks like the No. 15 quarterback in the NFL, and that could be good enough to win 11 games this year but I'm still not convinced it's good enough to win multiple playoff games."

I'm talking about the WRs.   1 reception to WRs other than Brown.  We put a lot of resources into the WR position over the years... but the most concerning thing is if Brown's presence on the team means that Hurts locks in on him... as great as it is to have a player of Brown's talent here, it might have a negative impact overall.   I don't want 1 WR to get 10 receptions and 155 yards while all the others get 1 reception for 7 yards, because the QB is locking on to the one WR that's his best friend.   I don't know that to be the case, but it bares watching.   Another day it might go a different way, but I don't get the exuberance over Brown's performance today.   It was a great day by him, but we've had that kind of performance from WRs in the past, and in those situations, other WRs have also had some targets and yards.

It is just one game, hopefully the distribution gets a little more spread out moving forward.

#15 in the NFL... are we still ranking Stafford and Burrow ahead of him in this post-game 1 ranking? lol @ the haters

Burrow definitely better. Stafford is better but closer to Jalen...I'd say Wentz outperformed him by a bit this week too

So Burrow with 4 INTs, 1 lost fumble and a game-ending FG range killing fumble in OT was better than Hurts? lol

So, you want Hurts over Burrow?

You think Hurts is the better QB?

You wouldn’t take Burrow in a trade for Hurts?

We were talking about week 1 rankings based on how they play, (as the author of the article quoted based the ranking on Hurts' play vs Detroit). I didn't make the rules, I just went with them.

First, the Bills are a much better team then the Lions. The Steelers are better as well, so your guy Hurts would have looked like utter trash against them. So, yeah, I'd take either of those QB in an instant over Hurts and anyone with half a brain would as well.

He looked like the same guy as last year. And that doesn’t cut it against actual good teams.

Week 1 Hurts was good enough overall to get the win. No TD's through the air but no turnovers either. We'll have a better sense of where his development is by mid-season.

The defense was terrible against the run today and 4 man pressure didn't exist once again. Gotta fix the defense in a hurry.

Were we? He said he looks like the 15th ranked QB. Wasn't week 1

Looks like the game manager with legs we are used to so far

So what number does Burrow look like? Stafford?

So week 1 plummets the two Superbowl QBs below Hurts? That's a joke way to look at it isn't it bud? Burrow will end the season well above Hurts. Stafford is better, but is catchable.... Not the way today was played by Hurts, but within reach
