When a young QB has to improve.......he can do all the off season stuff....weights, film work, study.......and then training camp and preseason games and nowadays, starting QB's hardly play, if at all, in the preseason......but it's the regular season that the improvements start to show themselves.  But it also may take 3-4 games to show all aspects of his improvement.

Yup.  A young QB that needs to improve shouldn't be treated as a vet QB that's been there, done that.  He's not Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady.  He's not even Patrick Mahomes or even Dak Prescott.   He's got a lot of growing to do and the coaching staff shouldn't have just punted on those preseason reps he could have gotten to start to show those improvements.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

That's the worry for me.... What happens when AJ gets taken out of a game?

Hurts will make Smith his first read then run.

I saw some nice throws by Hurts to AJ Brown.

I saw Hurts getting rid of the ball rather than giving up sacks. Was that intentional grounding I asked out loud a couple times.

I saw him run more than I wanted.

I saw a helmet to helmet hit on him. Should’ve gone through concussion protocol.

One play that stands out for me. In the 4th quarter on a play, Hurts actually got away from the Blitz. And instead of looking downfield, HE RAN BACK INTO IT. He can't read past his first look still and that's a problem. It's gonna be: AJ isn't open so it's time to run!

It's called "getting freaky"

I know there were designed runs.

But how many plays did Jalen Hurts bail the team out with his legs when there was nothing there but maybe a sack.

Like there were 6 runs off blitzes that resulted in 50 yards and 4 first downs.

That’s works against bad teams. Not against good ones.

That 3+15 was insane too.

56% completion percentage. Low percentage has always been and still is an issue with Hurts.

Low completion percentages and missed opportunities due to running will be part of his game I believe. Just doesn't seem to keep his eyes up once he starts moving. Wish he would watch some Mahomes film where he will roll a certain way to give him the angle he wants and then throws it

The Jalen Hurts experiment is going to come to a screeching halt on one of those slides.  There will be a defender that is going to take his head off and just accept the penalty.  He (and Siri) have to be out of their mind to expose him like that.

Its a good point. There were a couple of hits he took yesterday where you kind of wince for a second. Sliding in to oncoming defensive players is not smart.

I'm not a Hurts fan, but we don't need to destroy him (especially if he's be best we have).

Well, Ian Book is the best we have, followed closely by Minshew.

If that's how he wants to play oh well.

If I were the coach playing this out and just trying to win how we can, I would start telling Hurts to run through contact.  It's probably safer than giving himself up late and getting hit mid slide.  It'll generate a few more yards too.

Slide sooner.

He's a running back.  Treat him like one and let him loose.  Why mitigate what he does well and the entire reason he's on the field?  Vick didn't slide.

Because you're a Notre Dame fan, or because you love his career 12 completions out of 20 attempts PLUS 2 INTs?

I get you hate Hurts, but what did Minshew do to deserve that?

Quick Question:

Cowboys are on the line.

Do you trade Jalen Hurts to Dallas?

Not saying what we get back.

But, would you be okay with Jalen Hurts playing for the Cowboys?

Not Micah Parsons. Not Dak Prescott. ( He gets traded to Seattle let's say. )

Just conditional draft picks. Howie working his magic.

I did like how he did his very best to avoid sacks and throw it away

Yeah for sure. I get why he's sliding and it is the right thing to do in some situations. But a lot of the time he isn't doing it in the right situation.

One hit away from being injured. He takes too many big hits. Starting to remind me of another QB who tried being superman and started getting a ton of injuries that played here recently. Take off the cape, hand the ball off, find your receivers and stop the superman bullshi_t.

I don't think so.  I think if they do that, I'd have to cancel my Sunday Ticket as the Eagles would be literally giving up on the season.

You know Ian Book can't play the season, he probably doesn't know the plays.

Minshew would be good for a few games, but not enough to make a real push?

Now I say I don't think so, because every thing has a price.  You make the deal sweet enough, and I'll trade away anyone.
