Personally, it doesn't matter if he's the 15-17th "best" QB in the league.  What matters is if he's a good fit for this offense and his leadership can get them to win games.  We can look at the score, his passing stats, how much he ran or even put a magnifying glass on his "shortcomings" but we have to also give a lot of consideration to the fact that he has the leadership skills that teams want, he has the confidence and respect of the players around him and he has the athleticism that teams are looking for.......

Some of the things he has to improve are some of the hardest things for QBs to get better at.......and too many fans don't understand that he was really raw when he was drafted, he's in his 2nd offense as a pro and this was his 19th game.......he shouldn't have started last year, but that point is moot.

I mentioned earlier, that young QBs can do all the offseason work, but it's the regular season games where this improvement will show....and that could take a few games.  But it will be obvious when the eagles get half way thru the season and Hurts has not shown those improvements.

I think the Lions posed a bigger problem than most anticipated.....their pass rush was pretty good and the coverage was good.  They blitzed a lot and got the eagles back on their heels.  I think Hurts dealt with it as best as he could.

The vikings will be the REAL test........LMAO 😄

Anyone who has complaints about Hurts yesterday either a) didn't watch the game, b) doesn't understand the way the Eagles want him to play, or c) is so anti-Hurts that nothing else matters.

Detroit is an up-and-coming team - they're favored over Washington next week - and Hurts played with poise and maturity.  His completion percentage was down but he threw several balls away to avoid taking a loss. He used his speed tactically and effectively.  On balance, he played within himself and the team won.  A reasonable, informed observer would say he passed this one and will come home to open the season with a lot of confidence.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

The problem is the offense he fits is a gimmicky college offense that is not sustainable in the NFL.

He may be the 15th to 17th best football players at the QB position, but he is not a top 20 QB.

Gimmicky? The eagles were 14th ranked NFL offense and were ranked 6th in the final Aikman ratings.......not exactly a disaster when you consider they had a 1st time HC and a whole new staff, a very raw QB and weak receivers.

I guess I don't get the hate for Hurts given that he was very raw coming out of college, has made good strides in development and doesn't play in a pass heavy offense right now.  I guess I don't really care where a QB is ranked statistically, there are other factors that a QB can influence the efficiency of the offense and the whole team that could propel them to a winning season and a playoff run.  The coaches are the ones that have to play to his strengths while building on his development.

I don't think Hurts is a finished product......I think as he shows more, the more diversified the offense will get.

It sounds like Jalen Hurts’ performance yesterday is looking better with the benefit of analytics and film review. This is just basing off what analysts seem to be saying on social media.

Is this quoting PFF scores?   Last I checked, they had Mahomes ranked 8th this week.

They did get it correct in saying he had zero turnover worthy plays.   He took care of the ball.  But, he wasn't the third best passer this week.

Mahomes, Herbert, Cousins, Tua, Allen, even Davis Mills had a better day as a passer.

I just watched this guy talk up a storm in the locker room. STOP with all this talk and prove YOURSELF. You STILL look like last year. Talk, talk, talk- that's how he leads. You have until the Steelers game. After that, you are on your own. Imma "act as if" he is the guy he says he is until the Steelers game. After that, he better be ballin out. 🤣 🏈

Just saw the tweet thought id share.

We are getting out coached.

This should not have looked like such a sh$t show.

Maybe we schemed and got lucky because Jalen bailed us out.

But we didn’t dominate.

WTF is our problem?!

Something tells me his teammates felt he lead with his play yesterday.  He isn't without flaws but you clearly have something against him

The Eagles as an organization (beyond Sirriani) went with a philosophy that soft practices lead to long term health.  It clearly effects early season penalties & tackling. But it's their long term bet

Smith and Goedert better be ready next game. Hurts and the O need to incorporate the other players. They need to show the league we have more than 1 WR bc I'm pretty sure Brown will be doubled until Hurts proves we have other WRs to cause damage.

With that said. I just watched every completion to Brown and aside from 1 iffy tight window throw, it was easy to see why Hurts threw his way so much. Brown was pretty much like 7-Eleven. I couldn't see the angle of the deep ball, but I think Smith was also on a go route on the other side, just couldn't tell if he was doubled.

I think AJ Brown pushed off and got away with it on that 50 yarder.

Go look at the film. Discuss.

And, the Vikings are the biggest pooooosssies on the planet.

Honestly I think I would take Davis Mills right now straight up for Hurts.

When you complete 10 of 13 to a guy you keep throwing to him. It's that simple really

Meh.  That wasn't a complete list, but those were all guys that I'd say clearly had a better day passing than Hurts, without thinking twice.  Beyond that, I'm not sure, nor do I want to check.

Man it’s too bad we don’t have Wilson, his big contract, and draft capital given up for that whopping 16 points he got against his former team. We would be in such a better position right now.

For what this game was, Jalen did his job. Not a fan of 17 carries, but I'd say a few of those was completely bailing out the oline. Did I see a lot of progression from last year? Not really....but did he do what it took to beat the lions that day, yes. Hopefully they work on some things and he can come out and match Cousins next week. I'm not a "real test" person, but our defense will have it's hands full and the offense is gonna need 30 again to pull this off.

On a list of problems with that game, he isn't top 5. Not a stock up, not a stock down.

I just want Wilson to get sacked a lot so he can cry about it some more lol. He got sacked 2 times yesterday so he is on pace for getting sacked the same amount he has his entire career... Grass isn't always greener

Hurts has 0 passing TDs in 8 of 20 starts.

How much longer do we have to "wait" to see him improve?

He is what he is, a RB dressed up in a QB's uniform.

I mean, the great Aaron Rodgers had 0 TDs in a week 1 loss, and Brady had 1 TD/INT.  Burrow had 4 INTs and lost, but you want to whine about 0 passing TDs in a win? LOL
