Fair enough but the offense didn't score well as I remember (could be wrong)

Scored enough to win a playoff game.

Just interesting that you changed the criteria immediately after making it about something else.   650 yards was in 3 starts.   1754 yards was in 11 starts.    (incidentally, the yards/game has increased a lot for the 'average' QB in the last 10-12 years.  So, these numbers aren't that far off compared to Hurts' on a per game basis.)

The point is... Hurts best skill is running.  Tebow's best skill was his running.  Different styles of runner, but still running was their strength.  That's why they are/were called a RB/FB.  And that style doesn't work long term in the NFL.  That hasn't changed.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

i think Hurts got first team reps a year ago as well. Flacco was his backup during preseason.

Yeah I'm probably off with my prior statement.  I believe he's had 2, and received 1st team reps in both. We're just now seeing what improvements (if any) he's made since his 2nd camp.

I'm not even a big Hurts believer long term but the hate is just over the top.  He had one of the best passes of his career to AJ and hit a few nice passes over the middle.  He also left the pocket too early a few times and was inaccurate a few times.  We'll see what happens this week.  I just wonder why some act like he ran over their dog. Someone was criticizing his post game speech. Said he should just play on the field. That's hate

20 TDs is a stretch. He's shown nothing at all to indicate he can get there.

Only strengthens my argument that it won't be hard to move on from. Never forget Grossman won 13 games before as a starter lol

It wasn't an actual answer, it was avoiding the question

Because you always change up your question(s) to include new hypotheticals, and it's tedious..  I'm not answering the same question again with a new factor added each time. I've already stated what will determine if he's here or not.

Hurts very first start:

17/30 167 yards, 1 TD, 18 rushes for 106 yards

Hurts first start this year:

18/32 243 yards, 0 TD, 17 rushes for 90 yards

We were sold a bill of goods this offseason that he had been working on his weaknesses, his pocket presence, his mechanics, etc. Meet the new boss, same as the old.

Where's the improvement???

If we were being objective, you could say he threw for 80 more yards, lol.  See, there's obvious improvement! 😏

No it was simple. Do you think 20 passing touchdowns will be enough to keep the job? I added only information, not variables so the general answer you gave wouldn't work. If you are unable to grasp that, it's fine. You can always take off after the first read

Had less passing TDs and less rushing yards. He's regressed

Hurts was sacked 26 times in 2021. Just once yesterday for a loss of 4 yards. Throwing the ball out of bounds to avoid sacks.

The pass attempt chart showed he was passing left and right. Mostly right last year.

I also think he is throwing deeper than last year where I recall lots of behind the LOS throws.

let's say it's 20 passing touchdowns, but he has 4500 yards? And what if 15 those TD's go to Brown, but it's because Davonta gets injured in week 4 and misses 10 games? Also, Dallas gets hurt in week 8 and misses 6 weeks? Also, what if the O-line is 15th best, and Hurts gets sacked a lot, and the defense is ranked 28th? What about if Sanders gets hurt and goes on IR early in the season so Hurts contributes to the run game more? What if Sirianni gets fat off of philly cheesesteaks and misses a game due to a food coma?

He hit AJ in stride over the middle a few times. Again I'm not sure he'll progress but you'd think he threw 3 INTs and fumbled the game away in a loss the way some are acting

If you have to go to this extreme with hypotheticals and mental gymnastics, you have already proven that Hurts should not be the QB after this year.

Sounds like a losing season and which he was unable to throw them back into any games and should be replaced

Wrong:

Jalen Hurts

Compare that to last year. I did not say zero behind LOS throws. I said less.

Maybe I shouldn't say deeper. Maybe just beyond the LOS.

He had deep pass. One pass right at 15 yards (that was a terrible pass, saved by Brown, and should have been an easy TD with a decent throw).

Go look at literally every other passers chart, nobody, not a single one threw as short as Hurts did Sunday.

BECAUSE I ALREADY ADDRESSED HIS QUESTION! Then he started adding in, 'but what if he has a top O-line? (not saying yesterday, they stunk)" and then added other nonsense. I already answered, I'm not addressing it again.

It's not what if. He has a top oline and top receiving group

They sure didn't pass block like a top line, but the run blocking was solid. Maybe they'll show how good they are later in the season.

I'll trust in three potential all pros, a 2nd year primed for at least a pro bowl season

2022 NFL Player Passing Stats | ESPN

I sorted by AVG yards per pass attempt.

Hurts came in at 7.6 yards per attempt, same as Wentz. They were ranked 13 and 14 overall in that stat category.

And, thank you for the link to the passing charts. Awesome.

Carson Wentz

Jalen Hurts

Wentz - Intended Air Yards Per Pass attempt, whether completed or not:

7.1 Yards

Hurts: 4.1

Too bad Wentz couldn't beat Jax when it mattered last year 😄

LOL, you realized you were wrong, and now you changed the argument.
