Hopefully we see this Hurts the rest of the season. I truly believe in the 2nd half they purposely closed the playbook on O.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

The real racist people keep making it about race. Every good QB the Eagles have had since the late 80s have been mobile QB, so that doesn't fly.

It was an observation. Since then you have mentioned Foles and Wentz. There was also Jeff Garcia who had a good run during this time period. You compared Hurts to 3 black QBs in a context of you liking all QBs except him and cited that you don't like him because he is "Cocky." He is the least cocky of the 3 QBs you referenced. You wrote it and it reflects how you think. You invoked the term racist. Maybe you want to put your "bias" under a bit of self-scrutiny. I already know not to hold my breath and lots of us have been around since the first board. Doesn't mean squat.

Barkley was never a starter here, and few here even know Rodney Pete played for us (and based on some of the posts you’ve made, I would assume you were in that group).

So your point is you thought Vick was going to win something with us somehow but Hurts can’t on a significantly better team?

No Ty love from you all??? He was a starter ;) Yeah, I liked Vick.

WTF are you talking about with Pete?

In the 90’s. Why do you feel the need to go that far back to substantiate your hate for Jalen Hurts?

Hurts was an absolute star tonight.

I started with Randall who was the first QB I watched youngin.

And Pete had the game of his life against the Lions in the playoffs. Shame you never watched that. It was surreal.

That wasn’t exactly a quality team, and I did watch it. Why are you just making up random stuff and what does this have to do with you hating another human being

You said few knew Pete played for us A-hole. That's why I'm talking about him try to keep up instead of calling it random. Also, I've never hated any Eagles QB. I can't stand Hurts and don't apologize for it. Also, try not to throw out the race card randomly because it shows ignorance and real hatred towards other human beings ;)

We know. You can stop telling us now.

He asked. Stop quoting me or asking questions if you don't want the same answer.

No, I said making random stuff up because you called me a youngin even though I’ve been an eagles fan longer than Cunningham started for us, and that you apparently had the inside knowledge that I had never seen a game I had. Yet I’m the A-hole?

Are you saying you don’t view Hurts as the Eagles QB?

You assumed I hadn't seen Pete play or knew he was the Eagles QB, so I guess we both assumed things.

Pretty sure if you have to ask me that last question you are trolling or just an idiot. He did well tonight. Doesn't change my opinion of him, but I'm not bashing him based on his play tonight.

All we know is that he hates Hurts because he thinks Hurts is cocky. Those were his words. I'm not sure why we have to get into this other stuff that may or may not have anything to do with his opinion. Personally, cocky players don't appeal to me, but I don't find Hurts to be cocky. The NFL has changed so much in the last 20 years. There aren't many Barry Sanders left playing in today's league.

Anyway, so I'm just going to disagree with his take and his slippery slope predictions about the future.

Everyone assumes. I assumed but would never claim it as fact without proper knowledge.

You said you didn’t like him, and now you say you’ve never felt that way about any eagles QB. It’s either mixed signals or you’re trying to send some kind of secret code

Not mixed signals. He is the first, which is the point.

Would you say you’re actively rooting against Hurts to succeed?

Yes and no. I want the Eagles to do well, but what I don't want more than anything, which drives my dislike for him more than anything is them bringing him back for another year because "they got so close" and "he showed improvement". I want the real Hurts, which I believe we saw in Tampa to shine through, so the team I love can find another QB who can get them to where I want them to be. He looks good against bad teams, but he doesn't progress well normally against good teams, see the field, or have patience when things break down and not take off first. I felt the same way about Simmons with the Sixers, which also leads into this. They kept bringing him back for one more year it seemed when the writing was on the wall. Regular season he kept tricking people and giving false hope.

Could I be wrong? Sure, but it's my opinion, so I obviously agree with it. It wouldn't be the first or last time that I was wrong if it turns out that way.

Funny people that would be mad if we almost got there with Hurts would be creaming their pants if we almost got there with the other guy.

He played a great game but I'm not crowning him

Man they are out in full force in the facebook groups calling everyone fake fans, trolls, people who don't know football

Nobody needs to crown him anything. That’s what you all seem to fail to understand. You always want to make unnecessary predictions. That’s why all of you look so foolish right now. You were so convinced the guy COULDN’T DO IT. You all were wrong. Stop trying so hard to believe the guy can’t play.

What was so encouraging was that he accurately made good decisions.  He'll always have just an average nfl arm and not make wow throws but other guys have been successful with that by making good accurate decisions.  It's only one game but even as someone who kept emphasizing we have to wait and see I didn't expect this type of game so soon

Well I guess he would seem cocky for showing up all the dopes around here who have been trashing him for the past three years on MNF. Like you mentioned they were so hyped to come in here to go into their same old tired tropes. Hurts owned them all tonight and they’re mad about it.

Rodney Peete had 17 TDs and 27 picks as an Eagle.

He was crap. The team as a whole overmatched Detroit in the playoff game.

It was 31-7 Eagles before he threw his 2nd TD pass that game.

Peete went for sub-200 in 8 of his 12 starts that year, in a WCO. He had 8 TDs and 14 picks.

He was a dollar store Dilfer on a 1995 team that was top 5 in rushing and bottom 5 in passing.
