You can say what you like about the guy but you can’t knock his commitment to the team and how he feels about the other players on it. If he wasn’t genuine he would slipped up by now but he hasn’t. Very humble guy that just wants to win and the team to be successful

You also can't knock that the guys around him really seem to believe in him and they do buy in to him. That includes guys who have won the Super Bowl. That's huge and for me one of the key reasons why this team is so together.

Very humble guy that just wants to win and the team to be successful What I'd like to say about the guy is he is exceeding our wildest expectations on and off the field. He's the most exciting young QB in the league this year and is leading this remarkable roster to what is shaping up as a very special season.

He's exceeding expectations and he's just the kind of guy you want to root for and get behind. Every week he's doing things that show his absolute commitment to this team and to winning.
October 10, 20222 yr Well I think this is probably the biggest regular season game of his career against a team that plays him very well. He won’t have the large gap in talent across the lines as he’s had early on in the season (especially with our OL being banged up) and will be playing a very opportunistic pass defense. This is a game where we see just how much the young man has grown as a passer. Dallas has shown that they are adept at keeping him in the pocket and stopping our gimmicky RPO game so really curious to see what he comes up with.
October 10, 20222 yr Not a great game. There was a moment when he would start scrambling too much from the pressure and I was thinking back to the Bucs game When I thought we were about to lose I was thinking the game against Dallas would be a good bounce back against a division rival. That would test whether he can move on from a bad performance Just beat Dallas

October 11, 20222 yr Completes 72% of his passes, accounts for 300 yards of offense, and two scores is now considered a "bad game” from Hurts. I guess you could say that the expectations have been raised a bit for the fan base and that alone says the beanbaggers think higher of Hurts than they used to. Still scumbag loser fans aren’t going to change that much.

Still scumbag loser fans aren’t going to change that much. The expectations have been raised a lot. Hurts is now, at worst, a legit NFL starting QB. The question is now how much he's worth and if his passing is good enough to win a title when going toe to toe with elite teams. For that bar, completing 72% of 2 yard receiver screens and dragging defenders across the goal line en route to a 2 TD offensive performance aren't going to cut it. Weeks 2 and 3 will cut it. We'll see which type of performance stacks up higher by the end of the year.

I did an about face on Hurts and am discussing what I want to see moving forward to know he can get the job done. Spare me the dramatics. Hurts, last season was in his second year as a pro, having come off a rookie season where he took over the starting job the last 4 weeks. He started every game he was healthy in 2021, helping the team win 8 of those 15 games and squeak into the playoffs. The team completely revamped the offensive philosophy around his strengths and weaknesses. He demonstrated improvement on the field during the course of the season. He ended the regular season as a Pro Bowl alternate. He played his final regular season start and postseason game on a tweaked ankle that required surgery once their season was over. All the while, you insisted none of that was proof he was a "legit NFL starter." I'm not the "bitter" one. Jalen Hurts won the starting job and held the starting job all last season. At no point last year did the team waver on who their starter was. There were a few big name QBs that were available via trade last offseason and the Eagles had the most draft capital to make a move and did not. We were also in position to draft a prospect in 2021 and did not. Last year, Hurts was absolutely a legit NFL starter. This year he has grown even more and is on the verge of becoming a franchise QB. Just because you chose not to believe in Jalen last season does not mean he wasn't a legit starting QB.

The head MVP candidate 1651 passing yards/225 rushing 14 passing TDS/ 2 rushing (16 total) 4 ints 4-1 in an insane conference He is a tier 2 candidate at best and would get zero votes atm There is ZERO doubt he is playing great ball, but the hyperbole at this point is insane.

It's really not, some of us just had the good sense to remain patient with a young QB and promising prospect, along with the ability to discern that he had shown gradual progression since being drafted. Above all, some noticed that he had the character traits necessary to succeed as a starting QB, particularly the intangibles that could allow him to overcome some modest shortcomings in his skillset.
October 11, 20222 yr Hurts from his first start through last season: Rookie. Not a big enough sample size. Hurts by having two phenomenal weeks and a few solid ones: Lock it up, he's the MVP. Haters are proven wrong. Now overall yes, he's played better. That said the Minny and Washington games seem more like an outlier at this point in time. Gotta get back to that. This is a good week to do so.
