Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Featured Replies

Jalen has been amazing this year. My ONLY Criticism is that sometimes he runs forward INTO sacks.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

But then sometimes he runs forwards and makes plays so I guess you trade the two off a little. And ultimately he's been looking after the ball so yeah the sack can suck but it can keep a drive alive.

Obviously we likely can't and I acknowledge that.

You don't think QBs making 40+ million a year hurts the rest of the roster?

Of course it does, but it’s better than the alternative of trying to get buy with a mud-tier guy or constantly burning high draft picks.

That’s why Howie is doing so much this year with Hurts still on his rookie contract. But the reality is we have to pay him.

That's really my only point. I realize we probably will sign him for big money. I realize that he is a better alternative than starting over.

I just don't like it and again, has to do with the money more than it does him.

Did he throw for 2 TD passes? I recall the one to Quez but the other was a run right? Not that it matters as they all count for 6.

He threw for a TD and as you said ran for a TD and the Eagles scored 17 points so you tell me……

Yeah fair point. Not that it really matters but I know the NFL love to cream over pass TDs and not so much rush TDs.

F it I'd start over. Improved? Some. The guy who will lift a trophy? Possible, but it won't be easy. He doesn't have it when things break down. He runs into sacks, runs the wrong way, stares down WR, and his legs bail him out at times...but that crap will not work in the playoffs against a good defense. He still struggles making quick decisions and moving through options.

Honestly, I'd freaking trade him and get a haul while his stock is up. He's just not the guy to me to pay him what they would have to. If they give him a massive contract it will be horrible for this team going forward.

We agree. The Hurts devotion isn't deserved and is stupid. He's still a RB playing QB that can't think quickly enough. You don't pay him. They won cause he could run today not his arm. That crap stops in the playoffs.

I wonder if it’s just him trying to refrain from tucking and running too quickly? Sometimes maybe he gets caught in between.

The Eagles have played 10 games this year, and he’s been at least "pretty good” in all 10. How many other QB’s can we say that for this year? Maybe Mahomes?

Bad news for Josh Allen then.

Yeah, that Chiefs game last year really showed he can only run.

69.9 QBR for Hurts, highest of the day from the ones they have released so far.

You still think "Hurts can only run?" He's 2nd in the NFL in passer rating. That's above Mr. Allen.

Finally have a QB who doesn't wet the bed in the 4th Quarter.

73.8% completion? 120.8 QB rating?

Those are some impressive running stats.

Depends. Is he facing a team like Dallas that stops the run and makes him turn to crap? Yes, he is screwed. Does he put up a decent pass here and there? Sure. Can he do it when a team knows he has to throw because the run is shut down? I wouldn't be my life on it. Happy they have him? For now. Want to give him a big contract? No freaking way. He can't think fast on his feet and that is a major freaking problem. I wouldn't pay him.

Not saying things are doomed but I'm not saying he walks on water and all is well either. I wouldn't sign him to an extension and that's why. I don't have faith in him yet. That's why. He isn't a POS but I don't love him long term.

Through 10 games, he is 2nd in the NFL in QB rating and hasn't had a single terrible game yet this season. He has helped win games with his feet. He has helped win games with his arm. He has helped win games with both. He has shown the ability to win in different ways, yet you pretend you haven't seen it. I don't care if "you" wouldn't pay him. It isn't your decision. Smart GMs will try to keep star QBs in the fold as long as possible so they don't end up like the Cleveland Browns spending a high draft pick each season on one for 20+ straight years. When you find one that fits and your team is winning games, you build on that, you don't tear it down just because.

Nothing we talk about in TATE is our decision, so no crap.

Hurts this year is 24th in xCOMP%, but 7th in actual COMP%. He’s 5th best in the league in COMP% above expectation.

He was also dead last last year in "time to throw” at 3.12 seconds. This year, he’s 22nd at 2.79 seconds.
