Smh, I'll give you a pass this time. You should've had number 62 in your collection years ago

My jersey philosophy (ever since I bought and soon thereafter re-sold, a T.O. jersey after the 2004 season),  has been to only buy 'legacy' jerseys. My only exception to that rule has always been that I'd buy the jersey of the first QB to win us a Lombardi. So I now have a Nick Foles Super Bowl LII jersey hanging in my closet.

Two of the three numbers that I mentioned, would have not only a great Eagles connection for me but also personal ones. I played Center (on offense), so getting 62 would connect there. But at the same time, I also played DE (Bednarik wasn't the last of the 60 minute men!), so that's a connection for BG not to mention the fact that my number was 55! lol

I won't mention the fact that our colors were burgundy and gold :nonono:

I thought he had a solid season last year. But he definitely had weaknesses, and was a big question mark coming into this season, after the Bucs playoff game.

This year he is unquestionably one of the best passers in the league. He hasn’t had a bad game all season. The fact that there are still Eagles fans hating on him is ridiculous.

The only thing that might make me a little nervous is how great Carson was in 2017, and how that all went south very quickly. Jalen isn't Carson, but it still makes me nervous to have that kind of happen again.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Can you imagine the irony of Hurts getting injured and having to ask RTK multiple times if he wanted Minshew to win a Super Bowl ??

Hurts was on a mission Sunday.

He played his worst game last year in the Meadowlands. It looked like he was intent to destroy them this year. :showoff:

lol I'd have my doubts about Minshew's abilities to do it, but not about my desire for him to do it. With Nick, I felt 100% confident in his ability to lead us to the promised land!

Meh, who cares. We have the MVP of the league and a superstar QB in the making. I honestly feel sad for them, if you are anything but ecstatic about your team having an MVP QB at such a young age, your fandom died a long time ago, and you're just following the team out of habit.

you have come a long ways.  Glad that you have seen the errors in your ways.  WElcome to the other side.

The difference between those two is between the ears, in so many ways, imo.

Hurts got benched in the National Championship Game and insisted on returning to Alabama, knowing full well he was going to back up Tua, when everyone thought he would transfer. And then he came in and saved their season when Tua got hurt in the SEC Championship Game. Contrast that with Wentz, who couldn’t handle drafting a QB in the 2nd round. And then when he got benched after being dreadful for 75% of the season, he demanded to be traded, despite the fact he was going to be given back the starting job.

Hurts has shown himself to be open to constructive criticism, and completely reworked his mechanics. While Wentz has had issues with coaches, and still has the same weird mechanics and plays the same hero ball that has plagued him his entire career.

And just their demeanours. Wentz appears to be too wound up, while Hurts is always even keel and in control.

No they just think any criticism of hurts amounts to trolling.

Not long ago I was called a troll for believing in him..

That said, what‘s not to like right now?

Hater? Nah. Skeptical for sure though. Or was, can't really fault his play at all this season. Though I will say, he needs to do it when it matters most.

Last year's super bowl winning QB Matthew Stafford threw for 4,886 yards  67.2% for 41 TDs 17 ints 30 sacks 102.9 QB rtg

Jalen Hurts with four weeks remaining has thrown for 3,157 yards, 22 TDs, 3 INTs 108.4 rtg

According to ESPN Jalen Hurts is projected to throw for 4,128 yards and 29 TDs.

However, Jalen Hurts has ran for 686 yards avg 4.9 and 10 rushing TDs (fumbled 5 but didn't lose any). Also has 1 defensive tackle this season.

Matt only ran for 43 yards last year and no rushing TDs.

As far as Jalen Hurts post season record this season, which team do you think will be able to defeat the Eagles?

Small correction. Hurts does have 2 lost fumbles. He lost one in Houston, and one in Indy.

That's all fine and nice, but he needs to perform in the playoffs. I'm not saying he hasn't been great this season. He obviously has.

Now do it in the playoffs.

Yep, MVP awards and regular season records mean nothing if the Eagles don't, at a minimum, reach the Super Bowl.  This will be a different team next year, this may be his best shot to win a title.

Happy for it. I always liked his intangibles, but never would I have seen him take such a quantum leap as a player. MVP of the NFL is in Philadelphia, geez.

I know there was a lot of shade thrown to the eagles sneaking into the playoffs last year, but it seems like Hurts really took that loss personally. You see it in his press conferences. You see it on the sidelines.

And i do think his mindset will be completely different. He was overwhelmed last year. I really doubt that will be the case this year.

I never thought Jalen could improve this much since last year. Granted the team is stacked but he is a huge part of them winning and in a lot of games the reason they win. Not even sure he has hit his ceiling at this point. Last two games they pulled him and most of the starters in the 4th. They are really dominate now.

Could very well be the case. Let's hope he cruises to and through the SB like he has this season.

Cowboys game will go a long way. Not even sure the girls will get past jacksonville. Agree this is the best shot right now to win a title. It's there for the taking for this team. Better team than 2017 imo.

Interesting observation on the MVP award:

Combine and average the QBs' rank of the following two categories:

1. Differential: Total TDs (Passing/Rushing TDs ) - Total Turnovers

2. Standard NFL Passer Rating

————————————————————————

Combined stat leader each previous year and if they won MVP:

Year__Combined Stat Winner (MVP?)
2021__Rodgers (Yes MVP)
2020__Rodgers (Yes MVP)
2019__Jackson (Yes MVP)
2018__Mahomes (Yes MVP)
2017__Brady (Yes MVP)
2016__Ryan (Yes MVP)
2015__Wilson/Brady tied (NO...Newton got MVP but had great year too)
2014__Rodgers/Romo tied (Yes Rodgers MVP)
2013__P Manning (Yes MVP)
2012__Rodgers (RB Peterson MVP, so n/a)
2011__Rodgers (Yes MVP)
2010__Brady (Yes MVP)
2009__Brees/Favre tie (NO Manning)
2008__Rivers (NO Manning)...River FAR better..Manning bias
2007__Brady (Yes MVP)
2006__P Manning (RB Thomlinson MVP..so n/a)
2005__P Manning/Palmer (RB Alexander MVP..so n/a)
2004__P Manning (Yes MVP)
2003__McNair/Manning (Yes co MVPs)
2002__Gannon (Yes MVP)

————————————————————————

2022 rankings thus far:

1. Hurts

2. Mahomes

3. Tagovailoa (MVP candidate??)

4. Burrow

5. G Smith

6. Garoppolo

7. Allen

8. Goff (rising)

9. Herbert

10. Lawrence (rising up the charts)

Its fairly rudimentary, but does seem to line up with how voters evaluate their MVP choices.

That is something.  Getting him next year on my fantasy team.

Gotta love 'I don't trust Hurts in the playoffs' guy.

  • Dak is 1-3 in the playoffs (Dak is 32nd in interception rate this year)
    • His last playoff game and his last regular season game are both grade Z awful.
  • Cousins is 1-2 and has to go to Philly
  • Brock Purdy? GTFO
  • Geno Smith?
  • 45 year old Brady with a horrific O-line? His D is 9 10 now, not top 3. This is a shadow of the 2020 team. (unless they get Dak)
  • Taylor Heinicke 0-1 ? He got lucky on MNF on a dumb play (Watkins) and a criminal face mask no-call.
  • Jared Goff 2-3 and last playoff win was 2018?
  • Daniel Jones?

If you don't trust any of those QBs more than Hurts then who cares how much you trust Hurts?

Boo Hoo, I might trust Mahomes more in the Super Bowl? (Allen is way less trustworthy than Hurts with his 2022 hero ball)

The Eagles are the 32nd worst team with the 56th worst QB to start a game this year.
