Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Awesome. He definitely has the face of franchise qualities you want, and with his MVP caliber play, we are thankfully set at that position for a while.

Just need Howie to continue to build around him, and for Hurts to keep the same drive to get better each year.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

His turnovers on deep passes were one of his biggest issues, and is now perhaps his biggest strength.

This was an area he must really have put the work in during the offseason, need him to do the same for throwing outside the pocket next offseason.

2 whole hours?!?! MVP! MVP!!!

Yeah I was gonna say, that didn’t need to be capitalized for emphasis. That could have been 8:30-10:30 and he spent the rest of his day doing something else

I never thought Jalen could improve this much since last year. Granted the team is stacked but he is a huge part of them winning and in a lot of games the reason they win. Not even sure he has hit his ceiling at this point. Last two games they pulled him and most of the starters in the 4th. They are really dominate now.

Eagles fixing their 3rd quarter woes has been a relief. Early in the season it was basically 2nd quarter or bust.

I was thinking the same thing after this week's game. Seems the entire first half of the season we were coming out flat on offense after halftime, but the past few weeks that hasn't been an issue.

Gotta love 'I don't trust Hurts in the playoffs' guy.

  • Dak is 1-3 in the playoffs (Dak is 32nd in interception rate this year)
    • His last playoff game and his last regular season game are both grade Z awful.
  • Cousins is 1-2 and has to go to Philly
  • Brock Purdy? GTFO
  • Geno Smith?
  • 45 year old Brady with a horrific O-line? His D is 9 10 now, not top 3. This is a shadow of the 2020 team. (unless they get Dak)
  • Taylor Heinicke 0-1 ? He got lucky on MNF on a dumb play (Watkins) and a criminal face mask no-call.
  • Jared Goff 2-3 and last playoff win was 2018?
  • Daniel Jones?

If you don't trust any of those QBs more than Hurts then who cares how much you trust Hurts?

Boo Hoo, I might trust Mahomes more in the Super Bowl? (Allen is way less trustworthy than Hurts with his 2022 hero ball)

The Eagles are the 32nd worst team with the 56th worst QB to start a game this year.

Playoffs are different. So it's understandable IMO. He'll have his chance to prove us wrong again

Disclaimer (because it seems I need to say this every time I don't praise him lol): I expect he'll do well in the playoffs

If he doesn't have two TD's on the first drive of the playoff game, he is a bust.

You have NO IDEA what a "normal NFL qb type throw” is or isn’t.

Some people just need to revel in their ignorance because they're too insecure to ever admit a mistake. Suffice it to say, this thread has done an excellent job of exposing the posters who actually understand the game of football and those are clueless about it.

Is it any coincidence that the hater crowd has gone from trolling and mindless criticism to outright just acting like a bunch of middle schoolers, lashing out in their frustration with a bunch of smartass remarks and gay jokes? I think not: immature people with immature minds basically at the point of meltdown.

Mmmmmm, triggered TATERs...:pizza:

Hmmm…maybe some of the credit for that should go to Brown, who’s made some ridiculous catches in tight coverage on deep throws. Things reagor could never dream of

AJ Brown is a scrub who would be nobody if not for Jalen Hurts.

AJ Brown is averaging 12 more yards a game and has scored twice as many touchdowns as he did last year in the same number of games, but tell me again how Hurts' play has had no impact on his production.

You think having goedert and Devonta instead of the scrubs in Tennessee has any impact on that? Or only Hurts?

The haters like to deflect from posts praising Hurts by insinuating they are just a bunch of fan boys with literal hard-ons. You really don't need to scroll back that far to see it. When confronted with facts to the contrary of their delusions, the haters respond with deflections in the form of laughter or jabs taken at the poster.

I actually think having more options in the passing game would decrease opportunities for a wr. But to your point, Goedert, Smith and Brown are all on track to have their career highs in yards per game, so yes, I think Jalen Hurts has something to do with that, mostly because I am not a complete idiot.

I never said Hurts has no part in it. He obviously does and has taken a tremendous leap this year. But to act like he’s the rising tide that raises everybody’s game is why there’s backlash. It takes a village, and the offense has become very complementary, which is the biggest reason for our success this year

It’s because you can’t offer any criticism of Hurts without being labeled a hater or racist.

For example the TD throw to Devonta this week. That was a god awful throw that could’ve landed Smith in the hospital if the safety wasn’t a moron.

Sorry, I didn't know it was offensive to you to give a qb too much credit.

Why not be objective instead a d riding loser?

You mean why don't I have the same opinions as you? I think the answer is pretty obvious to anyone who has paid any attention to this thread.

I don't understand how Hurts didn't get offensive player of the week

That is an AJ problem, not a Hurts solution.  Yards per game

2020 - 76.8

2021 - 66.8

2022 - 78.5 ( notice that is not even two yards more than 2020 )

AJ Brown is a stud.

Why isn't Devonta putting up massive numbers, the guy won the Heisman trophy with 117 catches for 1856 yards and 23 TD's.  With Jalen Hurts instead of a scrub like Mac Jones he should be setting every single receiving record this year.

False, and this has nothing to do with people posting stats corroborating Hurts' elite play this year. The hater reaction is double-down and deflect from the facts that don't fit their preconceived notions.

I don't see how it was a "god awful throw;" Hurts surely saw the void in coverage and tried to take advantage of it. Sure, if the safety took the correct angle and showed some hustle, maybe that play ends differently, but he was basically caught out of position. If he was in position, Smith could easily still have caught the ball but would have either taken a hit or been tackled to save the TD. At worst, that's a 50/50 ball where the QB is supposed to trust that his receiver can go up and get it. I don't really have an issue with the throw, which was basically accurate. Sure, it's a difficult throw into a tight window, but Hurts has making those throws all year. As long as it's working, I say let 'er rip.
