Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Featured Replies

I decided to go back and look at some of the older posts on this thread just to see. This thread was made sometime around the GB benching of Wentz and man some of you were furious!!! 😂 I mean some of the hate take on Hurts was ridiculous. Some of y’all were actually rooting for him to fail. Fast forward today and some of you  🤡s haven’t changed in two years. You were wrong then. You are wrong now. Just be straight about it. Stop trying to change the narrative, because you all have been exposed as frauds. It’s okay to walk back a bad take, but to try and act like you’re the victims now is a joke.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Hurts first INT was a bad throw - second one I'm not sure it was entirely on him, but probably still shouldn't have been thrown

So I assume from this you’ve never been wrong about a player?

Of course I have been! I’m just man enough to admit that. Are you?

I’ve admitted numerous times I was wrong about Hurts.

Then I’m proud of you. Hope to see you around here more often supporting the quarterback of the Eagles rather than super critiquing every small detail of his play.

Naw, he, like any player on the team is open to criticism. In fact in the blog I just criticized Quez. Why don’t you defend him with the same vitriol?

I like Quez actually, and think he’s a fine option as our number three receiver, but if someone is trying to tell me Quez is better than Smith sorry I’m not buying it. Another example is PFF trying to tell me Graham is better than Reddick. Sorry I don’t agree. That doesn’t mean I don’t like Graham though. For the record I’ve never rooted against or wanted any player on the Eagles to fail.

Well my criticism was about Quez always running horizontally, especially on the quick hitters/screens. It makes no sense to keep running those plays if he won’t turn upfield quickly. We saw smith run one perfectly.

But that doesn’t mean I hate Quez, or even the coaches for repeatedly calling a dumb play. Do you see the difference?

Yeah that’s a legit criticism other than the "he’s just a running back” bs people would write about Hurts. Just so you know I criticize Hurts.

I am going to attempt to have a reasonable discussion with you.

There are 32 teams in the NFL, all 32 of those teams have a RB.  Jalen Hurts, a QB, ranks 25th in the NFL in carries.

After the pounding he took yesterday, you don't see why folks are concerned about a QB running that much, especially with Lamar Jackson breaking down so quickly ??

First off Joe Burrow lost his season to a knee so should we tremble in fear of getting a pocket passer? How about since Stafford went down or Jimmy G? This is ridiculously small minded. Jalen’s injury last season came from the pocket and not while running. I will state I don’t love Jalen taking so many shots. I’d like to see them use Miles way more than they do. Still this is football and guys get hurt. Nick Foles got hurt way more than people want to admit and he wasn’t fleet of foot. Wentz was always hurt and didn’t run the ball nearly as often as Allen or Hurts does. Furthermore let’s be honest. It’s not Jalen’s running that you were trashing there. It was his throwing. You didn’t respect him as a passer and you never thought he would improve. Keep it real.

I thought we had moved passed that.  Did you not see my you were right post on Friday, I mean, I even gave you your award.

Statistical fact, you are more than twice as likely to get injured outside the pocket.

First one looked like a wobbler, wonder if it even went where he was intending

You don’t find this stat to be a little misleading? For example Troy Aikman’s last play in the NFL was a roll to the right where he got blasted. Career over. Now does that mean he’s a scrambling quarterback? Nope, but he would account for an injury outside of the pocket. Also look at your total injuries. 204 inside the pocket! Look at the amount of in the pocket plays verses out of the pocket plays. The volume of the amount says it’s more likely to occur. I’m curious to see how many of those pocket pocket injuries lead to season ending injures as compared to out of pocket injuries.

Umm…that’s how percentages work tho…

And percentages can be misleading. 😂

I am looking at the percentage, and as more QB's run, the difference between plays in and out of the pocket will be reduced.

Look at Kyler Murray, running with no one withing 20 yards of him, boom, ACL torn.

Hurts took a beating outside of the pocket yesterday, against the Bears, who are last in the NFL in sacks, pressures and QB hits.  He should not have even need to get his jersey washed after the game.

QBs are protected by the rules in the pocket. Defenders attack them different, have to tackle them differently to avoid penalties.

Outside the pocket, QBs enjoy none of those special protections and the stats support they’re twice as likely to get hurt

Twitter rumors that Jalen is hurt.

Well, no one close to anyone legitimate reporting it, but, the play he was slow getting up he took the full weight of the DT on his right shoulder.  The Vegas line moving means there is something.

Weird too because he some big throws after that right?
