Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Was it ever really "played up" by people with actual sources covering the story? There' was some random twitter accounts that just post whatever and hope it sticks, but from the beginning it was "his status might be in doubt" and the worst I saw was McLane saying "he might miss two weeks".

Yeah it seemed like it was clouded and I was referring more to some of the reactions on this site. People were posting stuff about a broken collarbone and panicking for no reason.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

I’m not stating that Minshew gives them a better chance to win. I am stating that Jalen means a lot to the team and I don’t think they risk him in a scenario that isn’t must win. Can Minshew beat Dallas? Maybe. Can Minshew beat the Saints? Yes I think he can and if he can’t I believe Hurts can, because he always does. I have a hard time believing this team can’t win 1-3 games with or without Hurts especially with two of them being home games.

They can, but that’s not a chance I would want to take.

If you lose this week, and don’t play Hurts against NO, and somehow lose that game, then you’re going in to week 18 in a desperation must win scenario.

I don’t think they would do that.

The 1 seed is too critical.

Weird conundrum. I would want Minshew to beat the Saints to help the draft pick be higher, but if that wasn't in play I would 100% start Book if Minshew were to beat Dallas.

Minshew will clinch this Saturday, at it will be embarrassing as hell for the Cowboys.

This is an extremely talented football team. It is not one player that makes them great. If the Cowboys can win games with Cooper Rush then why can’t the Eagles win with Minshew. I’m not worried.

I will love it if he does.

BTW, he went to ECU before he went to WSU (I’m an ECU grad)

I’m not taking a chance with the health of Hurts and the playoff implications if they make things worse. Let him rest and heal up.

Oh, I am if it means potentially losing the 1 seed.

😂 Howie is gonna trade back anyways. 😂

It’s not going to bud. The Eagles probably could sweep these last three games with or without Hurts. They’re that good.

Probably, but still a pretty big gap in value when you are talking pick 4 through 10.

Beat Dallas at home with our backup while they have higher stakes.  Then beat the Saints with our 3rd stringer in a revenge game and secure a higher pick they gave us.  That would be hilarious.

Yeah I agree. I made that thread about this very conundrum. I want to beat the Saints more than I want to beat the Cowboys just so Howie can trade down anyway. 😂🤣😂

We will see….I would love for Gardner to win this week and clinch everything.

If that happens, then sit Hurts for as long as you want.

If it doesn’t go that way, then I want him to shoot up and play against NO.

Either way I could see Minshew winning both games, but my guess is when they beat Dallas they’re going to start resting guys anyway.

Pretty sure Hurts wants to play, hurt or not.  Dallas game, clinch the #1 seed, etc.  Siri has to manage this situation well and decides who goes and sits.  If it is not the Dallas game, the decision would be easy and just sit Hurts and play the back-ups.  They will sit most of the starters in the final game anyway.

Nope.  The Eagles need a win to clinch the #1 seed.  Regardless of the opponent, Hurts sits, and Minshew plays with the starters.

Cowboys players would 100% take cheap shots and try to injure Hurts.  No way.  Super Bowl is the goal.

It actually would be sweeter to beat them with the backup and shut up their fans too.

Sirianni is forcing the Cowboys to gameplan for Hurts. I feel this game will be all hands on deck except Hurts. Unless he wakes up on Thursday pain free I seriously doubt he plays.

They know he is not playing.  This is all for fans and the media.  If there was even the slightest chance, Vegas would move the odds to 3.5/4.

It would be the greatest thing ever! All the trash talk about Cooper Rush going into that first game too. If Minshew goes in there and lights them up at home it would be the greatest Christmas Gift ever.
