Jalen Hurts - shoulder sprain injury; expected for playoffs

Yeah.  It’s not like Hurts is doing what all those other running QB’s are doing. Because he’s an Eagle.  So since he’s your teams QB, he’s right and the rest are wrong.  😂.  Running 17 times is reckless.  I said it’s only a matter of time and he got hurt.  And he’ll get hurt again.  Keep telling yourself he’s "careful”.  He takes shots just like every mobile QB.  Just stop with the blind homerism.  It’s sad.

Minshew couldn’t practice.  He was at a funeral. FFS.

Homer? Yeah ok I literally he made bad decisions keeping the ball more than he should have. If you're any kind of Eagles fan then you agree that his 3 rushimg TDs were the right choices he made. I'm actually trying to talk football here rather than hate on the guy.

Did you not agree with his decisions to run on those scoring or 1st down playd or are you the guy that waited 15 weeks to finally say I told you so?

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Huge boost to our secondary for sure.

I've had time to think about this and I feel if Jalen is still sore or dealing with it then he should sit this week.    We have 3 games to win 1 game (Plus Minny and the Cowboys have to win out so I doubt they do that).  I'm not going to say this game "Doesn't matter" because that's wrong.  A Win here clinches everything.   But this game isn't the end all be all as it was marketed to be for weeks.    This has been the best team in the NFL All Season long.   This Defense is strong and good enough to win us one of these games down the stretch.   We just need Minshew to play mistake free football and manage the game.   We need Jalen for the Super Bowl Run fully healthy.   If he can go and coaches feel he's healthy enough then fine but as of right now.   Him missing a game in this new 17-game format when the Birds have the Best Record and are up 2 games on both the NFC and AFC (3 games up on the Boys)....this isn't a big deal to me if he misses this game.

Him getting hurt was inevitable.

In tackle football? Who knew?

He got hurt last year and will again if he continues to take those shots.

Just ask Garoppolo.

The guys who statistically proved you are more than twice as likely to get hurt outside of the pocket.

Cry all you want about Hurts running 17 times to beat Chicago, but we did just barely beat Chicago.  It was a higher probability win that @Dallas and it gave us this 3 game cushion.  I say let Minshew play the next 2 games, there's a good 80% chance or so he wins one of them and clinches HFA.

Eagles have developed a game plan for both QB's. I am expecting Hurts to play. A sprained shoulder isn't going to stop him.

Making that injury worse will stop the Eagles ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl.

If it can be made worse.

The Eagles aren't going to let him play when they are 1 win or 1 Minnesota loss away from clinching the 1 seed. Also, Minshew is more than capable of winning at least 1 game.

Well they haven't ruled him out. So until they do, I believe he will play.

And it will be super embarrassing for the Cowboys to lose to Minshew after they cried we only beat Cooper Rush in the 1st game.

Spuds is an idiot.  The betting line has not moved, the MVP odds still have him 4th, if they thought there was a chance, Vegas would have adjusted the odds slightly.

Based on what the players in the locker room have said, and former players like Ike Reese, it is more than 80% he will not play.

If there was a chance, he would have been at least a limited participant in a walk through practice yesterday.

The line is down from 6 to 4.5

I still think it's a long shot that he plays, but Vegas has hedged.

Will be interested in seeing if Hurts gets in a limited practice today or tomorrow

^^^ Correct.

I posted the timeline in the weekly line thread. Vegas had the intel more than three hours before the story broke in the media.  By the time Schefter and McLane tweeted it out, both at precisely 4:20 pm, the line had moved from 1.5 to 6.  Vegas is miles ahead.  Siriani's "Jalen heals faster than anyone else.  He's not like the rest of us..." nonsense is...nonsense.

Minshew Mania is on...

I'm not saying we're going to beat Dallas but I definitely have confidence in Minshew to play well and get the job done... I'm sure he knows if they beat Dallas and clinch the 1 seed it buys him 2 more games to show other teams what he can do being he's a free agent after this year...

With the news the line was going to move regardless if Hurts plays. More people will bet for Dallas after the news. Also, the line already went down to 4.5.

Do you want a less than 100% Hurts playing, against the Cowboys and Micah Parsons who will be all lathered up after the scuttlebutt about the system comments last week, and limiting his running to protect him ??

Gardner Minshew can beat the Cowboys, and give Jalen a week to get right and then play against the Saints.  It is still in the best interest of the Eagles to beat the Saints, and then the starters can sit week 17.

If you want Jalen to play this week at less than 100% and risk additional injury, I want to hear the reasons why.

I for one think he's going to play.

But IF... Minshew plays, this will hurt Dallas I think.  Like any team when they see the backup starting, they will think this is a lock... especially at home.  Minshew may not be able to run the RPO's but I think he can move the ball effectively enough to put up points.  Dallas secondary is a**, so he can throw on them.  They are also banged up in the run game too.  This would be a good week of heavy Miles and the run game.

I have never said I want Jalen to play. I agree with your reasons to not play. I play him in the fantasy playoffs this weekend. I’m saying the vegas lines have no indication of him playing or not. I’m also saying there is a decent chance he plays regardless of what we think or want.
