The FBI released new information on Wednesday on the suspect who left pipe bombs in Capitol Hill the night before hundreds of people stormed the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6.

The new information includes a virtual map and clear surveillance video that shows the route the suspect walked while placing the two bombs on Jan. 5.

The suspect planted the devices between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. that night. One device was placed in an alley behind the Republican National Committee Headquarters. The other was placed next to a park bench near the Democratic National Committee Headquarters.

Both are just blocks from the Capitol building.

The FBI said Wednesday that investigators also believe the suspect was operating out of the Folger Park area of Capitol Hill the night of. It's also a location just blocks from the Capitol office buildings. The FBI says based on the behavior in the video, they believe the suspect wasn't from the area.

The video recordings are very clear. The person's identity is not.

The suspect wore a face mask, glasses, a grey hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and black and light grey Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes with a yellow logo. A backpack was used to transport each of the devices.

Investigators have arrested and charged hundreds of people who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, but the would-be bomber has yet to be captured.

The suspect's motive is unknown, but former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund testified before Congress that he believes the viable devices were planted as a possible diversion ahead of the events the following day.

"We were dealing with two pipe bombs that were specifically set right off the edge of our perimeter to, what I suspect, draw resources away," he said in a congressional hearing. "I think there was a significant coordination with this attack."

Create a diversion so that the US Capitol Police don’t notice the thousands of Trumpbots breaking through barriers?  Lol

This could be interesting.

FBI seizes phone of Oath Keepers lawyer in 'seditious conspiracy' investigation: Attorney who was at the Capitol on January 6 slams the move as 'unethical'

  • Federal agents seized Texas attorney Kellye SoRelle's iPhone this week as part of an investigation into a 'seditious conspiracy'
  • SoRelle is closely associated with Stewart Rhodes, founder of the Oath Keepers - the right-wing militia group involved in the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol
  • The lawyer - who once likened ex-President Trump to a king in Lord of the Rings - served as Oath Keepers' general counsel and volunteered for Lawyers for Trump
  • The seizure is part of an investigation into conspiracy, civil disorder, false statements, destruction of government property, obstruction of Congress, and unlawful entry on restricted buildings or grounds, says search warrant
  • 17 members of the Oath Keepers are already facing charges of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding for taking part in the assault on Congress
  • In at least one other case, a search warrant application connected to Jan. 6 has referenced 'seditious conspiracy'
  • The FBI has made more than 600 arrests in connection with the Jan. 6 attack, and hundreds more cases are in the works
  • 'I have so much information in there - [it's] nuts,' SoRelle revealed, calling her phone as 'a repository of truth'

Creating a diversion that pulled resources away from the Capitol with pipe bombs. This is funny?

That in combination with the dozen other things the Trump administration did to make sure the Capitol police weren’t prepared for the attack.  You know it was a set up, right?

Former FBI special agent singles out Senator Josh Hawley for instigating Capitol riot

"What you see right there President Trump told them they were going to the Capitol that day. They didn’t pick the Capitol, he said it, his organizers they promoted it, his fellow congressmen in the GOP, they promoted it.

Good points.

Lot of buzz surrounding the rally this weekend for the "political prisoners." It's really telling that Green, Cawthorne and Gaetz have all made excuses not to be there. Especially Cawthorne.

To busy trying to delete their phone records from January 6th.

Washington DC is gearing up for the criminals about to descend into town this weekend.

REMEMBER, IF YOU AND YOUR INSURRECTION LOVING PALS ARE GOING TO COMMIT A CRIME AT THE RALLY, PLEASE POST IT ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TIK TOK AND PARLER.

Holy crap.

There were cops who posed with the rioters. Laughed with them. But it seems no one talks about that.

That probably had some influence on some of the officers taking their own lives.

Knowing now that Capitol police were actively coordinating with insurrectionists is absolutely terrifying. If they were part of it is it too much of a stretch to think that GOP members of Congress might have been involved as well?

Public hanging?

There was certainly help on the inside. You don't simply break through so many lines of security without some help.

First Jan. 6 rioter sentenced for a felony seeks to unwind plea deal

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/09/15/jan-6-rioter-plea-deal-forgery-511912

Quote

The first Jan. 6 rioter sentenced for a felony charge began mounting a desperate bid Wednesday to unravel his plea agreement, claiming through a newly retained attorney that his signature on the deal was forged.

But the federal judge in the case, Randy Moss, expressed skepticism about the claim and noted it could even put Paul Hodgkins at legal risk, since he said under oath that he had reviewed and accepted the plea deal.

The Trump loving insurrectionists are so Fing stupid.

Swear under oath and then try to lie about it.

If General Milley really did call China, he needs to be prosecuted. I can see the taking steps to prevent the lunatic behind 1-6-2021 from launching nukes, but calling a foreign power that way is just wrong.

I don't know.  Reading the 1st call was legit with 15 on the call initiated by SOD.  Not sure about the 2nd one, if there was one, will keep checking on it.

Just like in here, the division in the country is something I've never experienced to this extent before.  I read the comment sections too. Some real doosies. Here's one:

Poster 1: Dear Republicans, we die by the hundreds to coddle your guns, we die by the hundreds of thousands to coddle your medieval notions of medicine, and we were to die by the hundreds of millions to coddle your leader's wounded feelings?  I'd encourage you to die yourselves, for a change, but you're doing a tolerably good job of it without any help.

Poster 2:  Why are liberals so hateful?  They would literally kill or facilitate the death of anyone who doesn't agree with them.  Here's but one more example of the depth of their hatred.

Poster 1:  Sorry, but that's you---the murderous crowd waving Trump and Rebel flags who smeared feces on the U.S. Capitol statuary as they bashed in the heads of cops and held and a stiletto to our country's throat because they lost an election (and then lamely try to point to Portland as the equivalent of this foul insurrection), the sneering ignoramuses coughing on us in stores and airplanes,  crowing about their freedom and whining that they are patronized and condescended to as thousands die of COVID, almost all of them unvaccinated because of their own defiantly wilful ignorance and hillbilly superstitions--we are supposed to respect you? Go swallow a rock--we've had it.

Trump was willing to sacrifice his own vice president to stay in power.  You don’t think that spooked Milley a little bit?  I think he was doing the right thing.

I don't fault him for doing the right thing.

I do expect him to be held responsible for any illegal actions, regardless of reason;

Part of me just wants him put on trial so that all the juicy stuff he knows is put on the record. The Woodward books are interesting and all but it’s a lot different when someone is saying it under oath in a courtroom.

I'm sure all the Trump supporters will listen carefully and form a reasoned opinion if it's said under oath.

A lot of them are so far gone that they don’t even believe in the U.S. criminal justice system anymore.

Let the lawsuits begin.

Moment Roger Stone is interrupted during radio interview to be served papers for Capitol riot lawsuit

  • Stone was doing an interview with a St. Louis radio station when he got served
  • 'Alright, I have just been served in the January 6th lawsuit, live right here on your radio'
  • He has previously been named in civil suit by Capitol Police Officers
  • He had been in the middle of making the case for a Trump 2024 run
