 Nope, the rally that happened down the street where the majority of the non crime-committing people came from.  Sorry, those who just stood outside shouldn't be tarred and feathered for being there.  And nowhere have I said that there shouldn't be punishment for those that breached the building and/or committed other crimes.  They absolutely should be punished.  I think what happened that day was an embarrassment to our nation, and you're right...the crimes that were actually committed are serious enough, no need to hyperbolize it.  Yet that's what the media has done for 10 months.

Well, you would have to show me a post on this board where someone suggested that the people who did not enter the capitol should be punished because I don't rememer seeing it. Quote it so we can discuss that topic.

That could prove problematic, as @lynched1would most definitely be intoxicated, setting up Toasty for date rape charges.

Remember remember the 5th of November or was it remember remember the 6th of January  ?  Just doesn’t have the same ring.

The Fifth of November

    Remember, remember!
    The fifth of November,
    The Gunpowder treason and plot;
    I know of no reason
    Why the Gunpowder treason
    Should ever be forgot!
    Guy Fawkes and his companions
    Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
    All up alive.
    Threescore barrels, laid below,
    To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
    A stick and a stake
    For King James's sake!
If you won't give me one,
    I'll take two,
    The better for me,
    And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
    Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!

She'd have to be easy to marry a ugly F like me.

It's almost eight am. Better have just one more drink.

Aren't ishlibs a little curious how many federal agents/informants participated in the greatest national tragedy since 9/11?

"Not a matter of if but how many." Let's Fing GOOOOO!

Hey dum-bass, if the FBI didn't have agents in a crowd we knew was hostile towards democracy and filled with angry radicals they would be derelict in their duty.

Riiight. Knew the pivot from "it never happened" to "it happened and here's why it's a good thing" would come from a reputable source. Thanks, riot kitchen!

You are SO Fing dumb.

The FBI created January 6th. They masterminded this plot to discredit Trump, using a crowd of almost all FBI agents, as well as a ton of Hollywood actors, they infiltrated right wing media, right wing nut groups, as well as Congress, to make it SEEM like Trump and his pals whipped up a mob into a frenzy.

Really, it was Trump's FBI.

Nope. No one said that. But it's telling that you have to go to absurd extremes to try to argue your case, though. If it turns out that a significant number of FBI agents and informants were instrumental in planning and participating in storming the capitol, that's absolutely a huge deal. No question.

Capitol Riot Suspect Evan Neumann Claims Asylum in Belarus After Fleeing FBI

https://www.thedailybeast.com/capitol-riot-suspect-evan-neumann-claims-asylum-in-belarus-after-fleeing-fbi

Quote

A California man who is on the FBI’s Most Wanted List for allegedly attacking police during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot has claimed asylum in the former Soviet republic of Belarus. Evan Neumann, 48, was charged in July on six separate counts, including assaulting officers and violent entry, after being identified from footage of the storming of Congress. But by then he had already sold his house in the Bay Area and fled to Europe, initially hiding out in Ukraine before deciding to cross over into Belarus—often described as "Europe’s last dictatorship.”

His hosts appear delighted to have him. Belarus state TV portrayed him as a victim of government persecution and described him as "the same type of simple American whose shops were burned by Black Lives Matter activists.” In an interview with the channel, reported by the Moscow Times, Neumann said he had decided to leave Ukraine after finding himself being tailed by security officials. He told how he encountered wild boar and snakes as he made his way across the swampy marshland dividing Ukraine and Belarus, before being arrested on the border on Aug. 15. He said that the charges against him were "unfounded.”

Sure, the FBI plant is fleeing the FBI to Belarus.

Uh huh.

Jacob Chansley — the QAnon adherent who infamously stormed the Senate chamber shirtless and wearing horns on Jan. 6 — should go to prison for 51 months, prosecutors said Tuesday in a late-night sentencing memo carrying their stiffest recommendation yet in any case stemming from the insurrection.

Seems like a proper punishment IMO.

Yeah 51 months is probably a bit lenient, but at least it's a significant sentence.
