I'd guess the Appellate Court will issue a very brief stay. Tomorrow is Veterans' Day, and the Courts are closed. Maybe they hear it on an expedited basis Friday, but the rational thing would be to stay it until next week and allow Trump his chance to make the case. He'll lose, but there is clearly irreparable harm from turning it over Friday without the chance to appeal, and no real harm in waiting another few days.

I've been waiting long enough, thank you!   🤕

Oh look, it's this dude's time of the month. Pop in, call people names, and then disappear again without stating an actual position on anything. At least we've graduated from actively wishing death on someone, so it's a step in the right direction.

Look forward to hearing from you again in a month or so!

A New Jersey gym owner and former MMA fighter who punched a police officer during the January 6 riot was sentenced to 41 months in prison on Wednesday, becoming the first rioter sentenced for violence against the police during the attack.

Body camera footage shows Fairlamb following and yelling at officers on January 6, at one point shouting "you have no idea what the F you're doing." He then shoved and punched the officer in the head, the footage shows.
Prosecutors allege that Fairlamb was one of the first rioters inside the Senate side of the building. Four days after the siege, Fairlamb allegedly tagged Rep. Cori Bush, a Missouri Democrat in an Instagram post and wrote that he "shoulda lit your ass up," presumably during the attack. The post also contained screenshots of racist and sexist threats against the congresswoman.

Before handing down the sentence, Judge Royce Lamberth told Fairlamb he made the right decision accepting a plea agreement. "Had you gone to trial, I don't think there's any jury that could have acquitted you."
Lamberth said that other January 6 defendants in a similar situation as Fairlamb are "going to get a lot more" time in prison if they go to trial.

Capitol riot suspects had more ties to Oath Keepers than previously known

Poor choice of names for people who swore oaths to the US Constitution, then happily pissed all over the oath, and the Constitution, trying to overturn the election for a snake oil salesman.

An alleged Capitol rioter who stands accused of assaulting a cop with a flagpole was arrested Wednesday after another riot suspect helpfully identified him to investigators. Gregory Lamar Nix, 52, was arrested in Cleveland, Alabama, on Wednesday and hit with a long list of riot-related charges in a court appearance later in the day. Court documents alleged that surveillance footage captured Nix hammering a flagpole against the East House Doors of the Capitol on Jan. 6 in an attempt to gain unlawful entry, then striking a Capitol officer with the pole six minutes later. The documents state that Nix was identified by another alleged rioter when the footage was played to them by investigators in July. "The individual identified as Nix was an older white male with gray facial hair and was wearing a black and neon yellow hooded sweatshirt,” the document reads. A screenshot included in the document shows Nix flipping the bird at a surveillance camera. He’s due back in court next Friday.
