Rodgers is one of the highest profile GOP figures to be arrested. Rodgers, of Midland, Michigan, faces several felony and misdemeanor charges, including assaulting a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon, according to court records. Rodgers previously sought election to Midland City Council in 2018 and 2020 and was active in the Midland County Republican Party. He was also a prominent figure in Michigan Republican politics.
