February 4Feb 4 A prominent black church in Washington DC now owns the Proud Boys trademark, after they vandalized it in 2020. LINK Quote Proud Boys lose their trademark ownership to a Black church they vandalized, court rules The ownership of the Proud Boys' trademark is now in the hands of a Black church that the White supremacist group vandalized in 2020. The Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., was granted ownership of the group's trademark in a Feb. 3 ruling from Judge Tanya M. Jones Bosier of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The decision also gives the Metropolitan AME Church a lien on the trademark and the power to block the Proud Boys from using the trademark or selling licensed goods, like T-shirts or hats, without the church's approval. The ruling on the Proud Boys' copyright stems from an incident on Dec. 12, 2020, when members of the all-male right-wing group attended a "stop the steal" event in Washington, D.C., and also attacked the Metropolitan AME Church by climbing over a fence to get onto church property, where they destroyed a "Black Lives Matters" sign, according to court documents. A court ordered the Proud Boys to pay the church $2.8 million, money that the group has failed to pay, the documents note. As a result, the court gave the Metropolitan AME Church ownership of the trademark, giving them the right to deny use of the group's name and yellow or black laurel wreath symbol. FAFO
February 4Feb 4 Only an idiot would think the FBI wouldn't have informants, either previously known or new, stemming from the Jan 6 protest-turned-insurrection. Not everybody there was on board with storming the Capitol, and I don't doubt that a number of Trump supporters who saw things go too far are among the FBI informants. Keep worrying about what the FBI was doing though, so you don't have to think too hard about what Trump supporters were trying to do that day.

They once sent like 20 agents to a nascar garage to investigate a garage door pull because people were convinced it HAD to be a boob attack on a driver They haven't been a serious agency for a long time

July 6Jul 6 J6 rioter, pardoned by Trump, was sentenced to life in prison for assassination plot. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/03/us/politics/jan6-assassination-plot-sentence.htmlA Tennessee man pardoned by President Trump for taking part in the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has been sentenced to life in prison for hatching a separate plot to assassinate the law enforcement officers who investigated his role in the riot. The life term imposed on the man, Edward Kelley, came during a hearing on Wednesday in Federal District Court in Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. Kelley was convicted at a trial there in November of charges that included conspiracy to murder federal employees and threatening federal agents.During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that in 2022, while Mr. Kelley was at home facing charges in his Jan. 6-related case, he formed a group "that was preparing for armed conflict against the United States government” — specifically, the F.B.I. Mr. Kelley, a former Marine, had been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.ImageEdward Kelley on Jan. 5, 2021. Credit...Department of JusticeHe made a list of nearly 40 people who had been involved in his arrest or who had helped to search his home as part of the Jan. 6 investigation, targeting them for assassination, prosecutors said. Mr. Kelley also planned to attack an F.B.I. office in Knoxville, prosecutors said, using improvised explosive devices attached to vehicles and drones. He was ultimately turned in by one of his co-conspirators who secretly recorded him.Just weeks before his conviction in Knoxville, Mr. Kelley was also found guilty of assault, civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding by a federal judge at a bench trial in Washington for his role in the Capitol attack.Prosecutors say he wore a gas mask and a tactical helmet when he showed up on Jan. 6 and scuffled with a Capitol Police officer, throwing him to the ground.Mr. Kelley then used a long piece of wood to shatter a window near the Senate Wing door, breaching the building, prosecutors say. After he got in, they said, he helped kick open a nearby door, allowing more members of the mob to enter the building. Before he was sentenced in that case, however, he was pardoned by Mr. Trump as part of the sweeping grant of clemency that the president gave to the nearly 1,600 people charged in connection with the Capitol attack.
