January 12, 20214 yr That talk from Lurie about trying to do 2017 again and this is a transitional year along with the talk of Wentz as an asset. I think the Eagles are planning on going QB round 1.

So making that argument you COULD say we have played harder to get the same result with less talent. Don't know if I agree or not but I think that's the line of reasoning. No this started, because he thinks it’s not unusual for a Franchise quarterback to called an "asset” by the owner. I just wrote the Cowboys didn’t do that to Dak when they changed coaches. The overall point was its highly unusual for an owner to say something like that at all especially for a guy under contract. He then went on some silly rant about how the Eagles are so much greater, and frankly that’s not true.

No gonna happen. You must not have heard Lurie this afternoon.
January 12, 20214 yr Thanks Doug, took us to the promised land and won our first trophy. Sorry you got undone by Howie and that useless Carson Wentz...

I feel like I say that about almost every offense in the league nowadays. We as fans really should have gotten paid to watch what we saw this year.

Except for the Saints and Cardinals games, it was like torture. I don't see how any casual fan could have endured any Eagles game this season.
January 12, 20214 yr Howie Roseman is like having cancer and Lurie is treating it with all natural medicines
January 12, 20214 yr So long Hanna-Barbera Chin Ass Doug! You blessed us for a lifetime🏆🏈52. I'll never forget it, or you. Thank you for everything. You're welcome any time. Call before you come!
January 12, 20214 yr They probably let him go due to the very low fan attendance this year. Fans were so disgusted with the season that attendance was probably the lowest its ever been.

January 12, 20214 yr Lurie looks like that senile old uncle who you see once a year during the holidays.

We are now entering the dance so much later than all other teams involved in a HC search. May as well complete the rebuild now and can Howie too. Please!! Yeah i agree. Lurie seem to be shooting from the hip on this and that’s the same way we got chip kelly and how do things get to the point were you have to have a sit down to discuss the "vision” for the team going forward? I really dont buy that line one little bit. My bet is that this is 100% related to wentz’s suckage this year and wetnz’s butthurtyness after being benched bad situation we find ouraelves in at the present

I never thought I would say this, we are turning into Washington Redskins time period with Danny Boi running the show... Lurie sure does come off looking a bit wishy-washy, especially if you compare him with the Rooney's or even Mike Brown (in Cincy). Marvin Lewis won a grand total of 0 playoff games in his 16 years with the Bengals... 16 years... Doug won a total of 4 post-season games and the Super Bowl, in his 5 years with the team and he got fired 3 years after winning the Super Bowl. Not a good look for Lurie to be firing the only coach to win us a Super Bowl, after only 3 years and having reached the playoffs the previous 2 seasons. Not a good look.

You summed up my feelings exactly. While Doug definitely has some tendencies that are very frustrating, he had success for the most part and that doesn't come easy in this leauge.
January 12, 20214 yr Got to hand it to Doug. When he was hired, most fans disliked him more than they disliked Howie. When he was fired, most fans dislike Howie more than they dislike him. ------ Who knows what has been going on behind the scenes. No one tells the whole truth about that stuff, neither in press conferences nor in anonymous leaks, most of which give the truth a really thorough massage even if they're not outright lies. The fans believe what they want to believe. But boy, I sure hope Lurie's making the right call here. I suspect we're going to miss Doug. He got hit hard with injuries several years in a row, and this year was the first time he couldn't overcome them. I like Todd Bowles, y'all. I wouldn't be sad if he's the next coach. However, this team is a year or two away from being competitive no matter who comes in. There is some young talent here on offense, but basically none on defense. A lot of roster turnover is about to happen.
January 12, 20214 yr I heard a Sal Pal interview and it sounds like Doug no longer wanted to be here if he could not hire the staff he wanted to hire. Also, the Philly job may not be that high on peoples mess with an aging Oline, cap hell, and a QB controversy.
