I watched a lot of it on YouTube last night. Has the left been soft on illegal immigration? Yes. In England it seems more so than here. However in both the UK and here the right has had complete control of the government and failed to do anything. Why? They don't want the problem solved. Its literally the only thing they have to run on and if it isn't a crises, they can't run on it.

The Political Establishment in the UK and Europe has been soft on illegal immigration for a long time. It started with the deposing of Gaddafi (he stopped the illegal immigration gangs) carried on with Syria and Merkel making a call to fill gaps in the German job market with educated Syrians. What shde did with her large influence in the EU, was open the floodgates up to all and sundry to get into Europe. The EU is very pro illegal immigration and with the Schengen Zone, counties are essentially pushing migrants to each other, moving the problem on.  Its why they hate Orban and Hungary so much

The discontent over here is part anger at the political establishments unwillingness to conten with illegal immigration, part the growing power of Islam in the country as a voting bloc and  the historial crime and violence from the Islamic community. Its no longer home.

Some examples of where discontent is historically emanating from and it's grim grim reading.

And to be honest, many moderate Muslims who just want to live their lives are tarred with the above extremist brush, which doesn't help things at all.

The below is why some people call that channel Sly News. Because they are sly and lying buggers.

This one is the cherry on the sundae.

Its all very sad, all very predictable and if it doesn't calm down from the PM, he's gonna make Liz Truss look like Maggie Thatcher.

That's been going around fort the last day or so. It's had to disagree with it because of this

Not sure what comments were made, but very heavy handed

That is the tip of the iceberg from the political classes "online safety bill". The last Govt introduced it, but the current Govt had no objections to it. Without open social media, a lot of the unrest from those who aren't far right would have been hidden and de-amplified.

There was more unrest overnight and more two tier policing,  The ongoing issue and the boats from France, aren't going away, no matter how much our new Govt want it to.  If you want entertainment, look up an MP call Jess Philips. She's a special level of dumb

Elon Musk is now trolling the UK Govt

The better term for it is anarcho-tyranny, and it’s a feature, not a bug.

Kind of.  We have a rule of law, but it's the consistent application thereof, which is the issue. The powers that be are showing deep confirmation bias; white working class rioting is far right and must be punished, minorities rioting, we need to sit and listen and not punish them.  At this point, its systemic but the difference now is the toothpaste is going back in the tube any more.

For some of us, this quote is where are with the Govt "“I wanted to rub the human race in its own vomit, and force it to look in the mirror.”"

Yep, the prospective VP has already expressed interest in banning speech here. Won't be long before they try it.
