They're still young. And like I said I actually like mowing. 

I don't have any commute anymore to speak of, and I listen to podcasts and get some quiet time to enjoy my little corner of the world.

If the entirety of it was escaping my family that would indeed be sad. 

What I do is mentally exhausting at times. Compound that with a mentality that enjoys being a father but also has a healthy dose of lone wolf, and I need a little time where I can enjoy what I've managed to provide for my family while not having my moment interrupted by the normal goings-on of a busy household.

To put it bluntly, I love my wife and family dearly. And to ensure I'm able to be the best husband and father for them I can be, having a couple hours a week where I can put my stamp (in whatever little way it may be) on my plot and take pride in that time is cathartic. 

In pure dollar terms I could spend those few hours locked in my home office earning .. many times, conservatively .. what it would cost to have José mow it for me. My network affords me the opportunity to do so with little effort. 

I make the conscious choice to do so because I want to. I miss mowing when winter sets in and look forward to the spring.

If I'm being truthful, I feel sad that you've not found a simple joy in providing for someone. It's intoxicating.

Or maybe it's the Train Wreck. Either way.
