They actually do if a judge decides so, which is how the law works. I’m not arguing that it’s a particularly good or effective law, merely that it exists and Trump had 4 years to change it and failed.

Right so you know the law process but would rather make a bad attempt to troll?

Lol what?  You just said a second ago that when Trump was in charge, it wasn’t a problem.   And then when I bring up how this stunt could hurt Desantis and the GOP at the polls, you then say "votes won’t change anything”. What?

Votes won’t change anything because no one is going to change the way they vote. In what alternate reality are sh**libs going to wake up and vote for Desantis?

Arguing for the government seizing private property to appease your feelings is very rational and normal. This is the content I’m here for.

This is what eminent domain laws are for — so that the government can deal with a crisis by seizing the resources necessary to deal with problems. I can think of no better exercise of such power than to enrich the wonderful sh**lib champaign socialists of places like MV and Beverly Hills with the blessing of being a permanent sanctuary to these wonderful souls. All two million of them, in their neighborhoods and their children’s schools, because they are more American than Americans after all. Diversity will be their strength, and the strengthening will continue until moral improves!

Tell me it's entirely about the skin color without telling me it's entirely about skin color.

Oh, we’ll see how much it’s about skin color when the good little sh**libs of 96% white MV start getting diversified by Venezuela’s prison population.

Oh right, aside from when they literally did just that from 2016 to 2020. Then again, you're probably stupid enough to actually believe there were "election integrity issues" and have doubts that many people could've possibly voted for Biden.

Ffs………..SWING VOTERS!!!   THATS WHO MATTERS WHEN IT COMES TO VOTES.  The base is the base, obviously they aren’t going to change the way they vote.
Do you think an idiotic stunt like this helps or hurts desantis when it comes to swing voters?

How is it that you think Biden beat Trump when Hillary couldn’t?  Do you think it was because Biden motivated the base better?   Or do you think it was because the same people who sat out of the 2016 election because they couldn’t stand Trump but also couldn’t stand Hillary were willing to hold their nose and pull the lever for Biden in 2020.  Because while he may be old and dumb, at least he’s not a POS like Hillary and you don’t feel dirty voting for him.
This cute little stunt by desantis has basically taken away any chance I’ll ever vote for him.  And I’m sure I’m not the only one.  I mean, you realize someone could go to jail over this right?  They essentially kidnapped these people.

Your mistake is thinking TEW cares about voting or is even interested in living in a democracy.  He'd prefer, and actively hopes the US transforms into, an authoritarian state.  He's said it over and over again.

Some who weren't in CVON on the old boards might think you're joking, but TEW literally said "Giving women the right to vote has been a disaster." He then tried to walk it back like he always does and said he only meant to refer to universal suffrage, but he was probably two full tumblers deep when he first said it and in vino veritas.

I mean, he basically says sheet like that every day.  A few pages back he said he'd prefer a dictator to our current democracy.  He doesn't really hide the fact that he's a fascist, which I guess is preferable to lying about it like most of MAGA does.

The only thing more preferable is if he grew a pair, scraped together a few nickels he hasn't yet spent on booze, and finally moved to join his comrades in Moscow.

They must be Delaware republicans, since no one else is queefing hard enough about immigrants.

I'm sure it burns the GOP that the Martha's Vineyards churches are welcoming the poor bastiches tricked into flying there by complete a-holes.

Something apparently not available in Texas or Florida.

Yeah, they let them stay for 44 hours.  But Texas and Florida are supposed to care for them for how long?

Last night I dreamt I was a wretched demi-bee and stung a lady right in the gumbo pot.

I loved her Cyril Connolly.

I don't know, how long is Christian charity supposed to last?

After all, if the godless NE liberal Christians can do 44 hours. . .

No, not an authoritarian state. Don’t put words in my mouth. In theory, the right dictator — a philosopher king as it were — would obviously be most preferable. But the practical idea is simply a republic with net tax payer based suffrage. That’s what I hope for, that’s what I’ve advocated for, not any kind of authoritarianism. Obviously it’s well outside of the Overton Window currently, but if you want to talk about what I want, at least get it right.

I do think broad based voting is a terrible idea. As does everyone with a clue, from the founders of our country who actively strived to prevent a pure democracy to my ancestors in Ancient Greece who literally invented democracy. Universal suffrage is a terrible idea. I’ve never shied away from that fact.

Swing voters don’t really matter, and we saw that with Trump. Trump gets in and everything, no matter how small, is fought tooth and nail.

You can get marginal improvements with different presidents, but nothing to actually solve the problem. The bureaucracy has agendas of their own. The state and local politicians have agendas of their own. The legislative branch combined with the electorate structure effectively makes the changes that are necessary impossible.

And  at them kidnapping people. Those people literally signed a contract agreeing to go to MV.

After waving the pompoms for him for two pages, now we're suddenly back to Trump being powerless to change things. Maybe it's not the booze, maybe it's a mental condition like borderline personality disorder or something. Poor fella clearly needs some help.

Florida isn't a border state. At most they deal with the occasional raft that manages the trip from Cuba.

And both border patrol and national guard troops, who Abbott has ordered for his "Operation Lone Star" political stunt, are federally funded.

Texas gets federal tax dollars put into the pocket of Texas based border patrol and national guard, along with federal facilities to house migrants OR federal tax dollars pumped into local motels and hotels.

The whole premise is preposterous.
