Discussion and Conclusion

An extensive literature in labor economics has focused on wage differentials between immigrants and natives, but much less attention has been paid to differences in retirement resources and retirement security. In this article, we examine differences in the retirement resources of immigrants versus those of the native born. Our results suggest that preretirement immigrants have lower expected Social Security benefits than natives, and that retired immigrants have lower actual Social Security benefits.

You wanted to know how they’re a net drain, that’s an example, and it directly refuted a claim made by an article you posted.

I agree that SS can’t be saved, but realistically it’s not going anywhere. It’ll get monetized, and so the surplus liabilities created by legal immigrants will require extra monetization.

Do we really want to get into illegal immigration? Because if we are counting them, then we can get into court costs, crime, lack of insurance, use of public goods, etc. Ask yourself how illegals are paying billions into SS? The answer is simple really: identity theft!  

The bottom line here is that our current immigration system is not beneficial. That’s not to say we should have no immigration, but it needs to be radically altered for the US to get a benefit from it.

I posted several articles that covered many aspects of the economy. Of course immigrants, illegal or not, are not beneficial to all aspects of economy. You are cherry picking the negative and ignoring the positive.
 

The fact that illegals use ID theft to pay into SS isn’t an economic argument and doesn’t negate the fact that they pay in billions without receiving benefits.

According to the studies I have read about, yes I do think that. As I have already said, if you have information that suggests otherwise, I’ll take it into consideration.

Your claim was that they commit crimes and drain money from our courts that offset any positive economic impact they have,  and simply is not true. 
 

Regardless, I would like to decrease "illegal” immigration as much as possible but the "lock down the border” approach is as much of a failure of stopping it as the war on drugs has been in stopping drug use. In fact, illegal immigration becomes worse, the more restrictions we put on legal immigration.

granted that is more about income tax, but it’s encouraged for that. We probably won’t ever see data on illegals stealing social security benefits because that would require the government to show how much they screwed up. But only a true moron would think if they can steal SS numbers to work that they aren’t also stealing the benefits. Maybe not the same people but it does happen.

This article has zero to do with illegals receiving retirement benefits from SS.
 

And the IRS didn’t say they encourage it, they said they pretty much turned a blind eye to it under most circumstances. They claim that is not their department.

It simply IS true. We have to have entire federal agencies (Border Control, ICE, etc) to deal with them that cost billions of dollars, and that’s before they commit any other crime!

The article shows illegals are using ssn for more than paying into ss. I stated it doesn’t talk about retirement, but you have to be delusional to think they don’t. They’re going to steal SSNs, steal tax refunds (which the IRS is ok with), but they aren’t collecting social security benefits? You aren’t that stupid, stop playing dumb.

If you have evidence that shows that illegals are drawing billions from SS retirement them let’s see it. Otherwise, move along.
