This is in comparison to before when it was easier to come here but illegals over stayed visas or crossed the boarder illegally so now quotas and more red tape are in the way. I forgot you have no critical thinking and need everything spelled out for you.

Not being in a cult, is not a cult. To get more specific for you. Polish immigrants overstayed their visas in the 80s leading to more verification necessary for not only people to immigrate here, but to visit as a tourist. Up until recently Poland was the only country in the EU that required a visa for tourist visits to the US because of the large amounts of people who were here illegally from Poland. There was a doctor in Chicago (I think) who was brought to the US as a child but was, or was set to be, deported due to being here illegally, supposedly unknowingly. Due to people like him, his parents, and thousands of other Poles my wife’s sister and nephew were denied visas a few years ago because "they did not have strong enough ties to their country”. Those ties include two other children, a husband, a teacher job, a mortgage, their entire family, pets, you know their entire life. But because of illegals from the 80s, a 10 year old was denied a visa to visit his aunt. Now that’s just visiting, and luckily Poland has since moved past visa status to be able to enter the US as a tourist, but that’s not even close to the amount of crap and money I spent to have my wife in the country due to illegals.

Still anecdotal and doesn’t refute the fact that the biggest barrier to legal immigration is our immigration policy. Another cool story, only this one is backed up by data. The link to the actual article and data provided is in previous reply. Conclusion "The legal immigration system is effectively closed off for most potential immigrants to this country, and very difficult even for those few who do qualify. To address illegal immigration and to protect the U.S. economy, Congress should make legal immigration much easier than it is today. It should start by removing the per country limits for employment‐ and family‐based immigration that discriminate based on birthplace, but ultimately, it should remove the worldwide limits on family‐ and employment‐based immigration, which only serve to separate U.S. families and undermine economic growth. In lieu of this, it should cap wait times at no more than five years, and it should create a temporary work visa program for year‐round jobs not requiring a college degree. It should remove the three‐ and ten‐year bars and allow immigrants to correct their status by traveling abroad and applying for visas. Until America returns to its historic practice of allowing immigrants to reside legally, it will suffer the economic and social penalties that come from illegal immigration.“

You really are stupid

You really are stupid The evidence you are using to correlate the two is anecdotal. You are also talking about one policy change and not taking into account the countless other policies changes that happened before that one. Why did Poles all of the sudden start to over stay their visits in the 80s? Sorry to hear it took so long to get your situation squared away, I blame the too restrictive policies, you blame the illegals. There had to be a law before it became illegal. Some restrictions are needed but too many politicians write immigration law for votes instead of reason.

Just because you want to disagree with anything that proves illegals cause immigration to take longer doesn’t mean it’s anecdotal.

Google.com can verify everything. I have you broad examples. That didn’t work for you. I gave you specific examples. Still not good for you. Google the visa situation for Poland. I’m sure someone as smart as you can find exactly what you need.
