Fun-fact: I posted that hoagie to a popular philly sandwich page known to locals, and I'm over 110 likes/loves/wows. Zero negative reactions, and that's more reactions than most get on that page. Tons of supportive comments, too. You guys are clearly jealous of my  sandwich-making skills. Eat it, losers! (or don't).

Lots of people put mayo on hoagies. It's certainly an option. You guys are clearly misguidded

WTF are you talking about?

Who the f taught you to make a sammich? You need a @paco and @binkybink77 sammich making class.

I'm self taught, and I'm a master.

The roll is the one thing that is not canon. It's a bastogne roll, which is similar to but more dense than a typical hard roll, but it's from an awesome bakery and worked well here. Made it a little harder to stuff the roll, though.

I had a white female co-worker who said because her ancestors were from Sicily and they're considered to be of color, so she said she's basically black. She was pale white. 🤷‍♂️

Sounds like someone watched True Romance

Black guy tried so hard to get him to acknowledge he was actually white and the dude just couldn't do it.  He hates himself so much for being white he can't even acknowledge it or highlight one positive aspect of his life because of his skin color.

while i'd never use mayo on an "Italian" hoagie, if you use oil on other types of hoagies you're F'ng weirdo. (which means all of you considering cvon)

he should've told the guy he loves being white because nappy hair is nasty.

Did you pull an eagleva and put the oil on top of the veggies? the same veggies that aren’t even in the damn roll? Wawa makes a better hoagie than you.

Yeah - the meat/veggies to bread ratio is way off there.  Also - no way you're eating that thing without wearing most of the veggies on your lap the way it's constructed in the picture.

Yea ya gotta gut the bread a little bit, fam.

better yet, cut down on the veggies in general.

On plus slide, he deserves credit for using what looks like legit porchetta and capicola.

I like the veggies in a hoagie - with the exception of winter tomatoes.

There should be a law against selling those hard, white, pieces of filth. In places where I can see the sammy being made, if the tomatoes look a certain way I tell them to leave them off.

I believe that things falling out of your hoagie roll means they put plenty in. This is normal. The veggies/hot peppers fall out from time to time and need to be stuffed back into place.

I am quite convinced that you have apparently never had a real hoagie in your life. This is how they look all the time. You take a knife and press the stuff down into the roll. Sometimes eating one can actually be difficult. The roll itself made it a little trickier than usual, but I didn't want the roll to split. Some people will gut a roll to make it all fit, but I'd hate to waste all that fresh-baked goodness.

The oil DOES go on top, lol, wtf? The last thing you do is squeeze some oil on top of everything and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and oregano. You're way out of your element, bra.

Soppressata (kinda similar), actually, but yes on the capicola. There's a nice Italian market down the street from me.

It is time for a trip to 9th Street and spending way too much money in Claudio's

The pink meat that looks like ham is soppresseta? You sure about that?

No, the ham is ham off the bone that they sell in the deli. That's the closest they have at my local place in terms of ham. I don't think you can see the soppressata too well in the picture, but it's in there, along with capicola and genoa salami.

Oh, then half credit then. The only cooked uncured meat allowed is porchetta.

Only if they have imported and can slice it so thin you can see through it. Otherwise you'll pull out half the meat and be chewing for a half hour in between bites.
