Stacy Blatt was in hospice care last September listening to Rush Limbaugh’s dire warnings about how badly Donald J. Trump’s campaign needed money when he went online and chipped in everything he could: $500.

It was a big sum for a 63-year-old battling cancer and living in Kansas City on less than $1,000 per month. But that single contribution — federal records show it was his first ever — quickly multiplied. Another $500 was withdrawn the next day, then $500 the next week and every week through mid-October, without his knowledge — until Mr. Blatt’s bank account had been depleted and frozen. When his utility and rent payments bounced, he called his brother, Russell, for help.

What the Blatts soon discovered was $3,000 in withdrawals by the Trump campaign in less than 30 days. They called their bank and said they thought they were victims of fraud.  "It felt,” Russell said, "like it was a scam.”

But what the Blatts believed was duplicity was actually an intentional scheme to boost revenues by the Trump campaign and the for-profit company that processed its online donations, WinRed. Facing a cash crunch and getting badly outspent by the Democrats, the campaign had begun last September to set up recurring donations by default for online donors, for every week until the election.

Contributors had to wade through a fine-print disclaimer and manually uncheck a box to opt out.

The Trump campaign preyed on the elderly for donations. Sad!

If Trumpbot doesn’t request a Trump greeting then I’m going to be disappointed.

He is somehow unraveling further and becoming more insane. Didn't think that was possible.

75+ million will vote for him in 3 years.

The Trump Campaign stole money from their donors by having the recurring donation box checked and they pocketed the money. Trump used the money as an interest free loan.

The corruption stinks.

It's because he is still surrounded by yes men.

His lies only need to go as far as them, and he's happy.

He won't run again. I'll owe @ToastJenkins a beer. He would lose to Biden again and he knows it. However, MTG will probably get around 70 million as the gop nominee.

Former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, raked in $15,846 in US taxpayer money by charging the Secret Service $396 a night for hotel rooms during a Christmas trip, The Washington Post reported on Monday.

The rooms cost almost double the limit of $205 a night under federal rules, which the White House can override. Trump stayed at Mar-a-Lago for eight days last December as he golfed and aggressively fought to overturn the result of the election.

I could have sworn his son promised us the Secret Service paid at most $50 a room.

It is almost as if they were never telling the truth at all. Do you suppose it is possible they lied about OTHER things?

well sure, it's easy for the Radical Left CRAZIES who rigged our Presidential Election and want to destroy our country to wish a Happy Easter without acknowledging they are Radical Left CRAZIES who rigged our Presidential Election and want to destroy our country.

Like we care how the Satan-loving cabal of pedophile liberals 'celebrate' Easter.

Trump officials celebrated efforts to change CDC reports on coronavirus, emails show

Trump appointees in the Health and Human Services department last year privately touted their efforts to block or alter scientists’ reports on the coronavirus to more closely align with then-President Donald Trump’s more optimistic messages about the outbreak, according to newly released documents from congressional investigators.

Pointing to one change — where CDC leaders allegedly changed the opening sentence of a report about spread of the virus among younger people after Alexander pressured them — Alexander wrote to Caputo, calling it a "small victory but a victory nonetheless and yippee!!!”

In the same email, Alexander touted another example of a change to a weekly report from the CDC that he said the agency made in response to his demands. The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports (MMWR), which offer public updates on scientists’ findings, had been considered sacrosanct for decades and untouchable by political appointees in the past.

Two days later, Alexander appealed to then-White House adviser Scott Atlas to help him dispute an upcoming CDC report on coronavirus-related deaths among young Americans.

"Can you help me craft an op-ed,” Alexander wrote to Atlas on Sept. 11, alleging the CDC report was "timed for the election” and an attempt to keep schools closed even as Trump pushed to reopen them. "Let us advise the President and get permission to preempt this please for it will run for the weekend so we need to blunt the edge as it is misleading.”

Alexander and other officials also strategized on how to help Trump argue to reopen the economy in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, despite scientists’ warnings about the potential risks.

"I know the President wants us to enumerate the economic cost of not reopening. We need solid estimates to be able to say something like: 50,000 more cancer deaths! 40,000 more heart attacks! 25,000 more suicides!” Caputo wrote to Alexander on May 16, 2020, in an email obtained by the subcommittee.

"You need to take ownership of these numbers. This is singularly important to what you and I want to achieve,” Caputo added in a follow-up email, urging Alexander to compile additional data on the consequences of virus-related shutdowns.

I'll forever be saddened by the confluence of events that forced us to suffer through both the worst pandemic in a century and also the most incompetent president in our history. I'd call it bad luck, but that would absolve all the idiots of blame for thinking that moron could pull his head out of his ass for even a minute to be an actual leader.

I tell people all the time -- we were incredibly lucky that nothing challenging really happened for his first 3 years in office. Bush had 9/11 in his first year. Obama had the financial crisis. Bush Sr. = Gulf War. Most Presidents get challenged early on, but Trump could basically skate by and have no real crisis to confront while not even attempting to understand the job. It was dumb luck.

We paid for all of that luck in year 4...

think of it this way: if COVID hadn't happened, we might be in the 2nd term of Trump.

Video shows Trump meeting the man at the center of the Matt Gaetz sex-trafficking allegations

  • A video has surfaced of Trump and a man at the center of Gaetz's sex-trafficking allegations.
  • Jason Pirozzolo met Trump, then president, along with Gov. Ron DeSantis in Florida in 2019.
  • Pirozzolo is accused of paying for female escorts for Gaetz on a Bahamas trip in 2018 or 2019.
  • See more stories on Insider's business page.

Footage from 2019 has surfaced of former President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, being greeted at a Florida airport by the man at the center of the sex-trafficking allegations involving GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz.

A video posted in June 2019 by Ryan Gillespie, a journalist at the Orlando Sentinel, shows the then-president, who was in Orlando to launch his re-election bid, and Melania Trump disembarking from a plane and meeting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Jason Pirozzolo on the airport tarmac.

The Justice Department is investigating whether Pirozzolo, a marijuana entrepreneur and hand surgeon, and Gaetz broke federal sex-trafficking laws during a trip to the Bahamas in 2018 or 2019, CBS News reported.

Sources told CBS News that Pirozzolo paid for the travel expenses, accommodation, and female escorts for those present on the Bahamas trip and said investigators are trying to determine whether the escorts were illegally trafficked across state lines for the purpose of sex with Gaetz. Neither man has been charged in connection with the investigation.

It is unclear why Pirozzolo was present at the airport to greet President Trump.

Gillespie wrote on Twitter at the time that Pirozzolo was "an Orlando hand surgeon and GOAA board member," referring to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

The Orlando Sentinel journalist Jason Garcia on Thursday reported that when Pirozzolo applied to become a GOAA board member, he listed Gaetz as one of his references.

The department is also investigating allegations that Gaetz had sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl across state lines, which could also represent a violation of state trafficking laws, The New York Times reported.

Gaetz has denied all the allegations made against him in relation to the investigations and has said he was the victim of an extortion scam. He also specifically denied allegations relating to the Bahamas trip.

"Rep. Gaetz has never paid for sex, nor has he had sex with an underage girl," a spokesman told CBS. "What began with blaring headlines about 'sex trafficking' has now turned into a general fishing exercise about vacations and consensual relationships with adults."

Insider has reached out to DeSantis' office for comment.

Hard to pin anything on Trump here. Nothing that exonerates, but unless there's proof he had knowledge of Gaetz's activities and Pirozzolo's involvement in them then I don't see much on that front.

A prosecutor kind of touched on this last night: with Trump it's all about people. He doesn't communicate through email. It's all through code and intermediaries, so in cases against him, you need people to flip and spill the beans, which is why someone like Weisselberg is such a high-profile target in SDNY. So, here again, you wonder if there are people who know things that you can put in a position to make them talk.

What pisses me off is all last year and throughout an absolute s*** stain of an Eagles season, we had to listen to these brainwashed extremists and Trumpbots, members of this community... crowing about how the numbers weren't so bad, or how the flu has killed as much ...  and meanwhile the deaths just kept going up!

Honestly, it put me off even coming here for a long time.  Some of them are still so dug in you can't even talk to them anymore.
