Trump will lose the broad case but gain the timing delay he desperately desires as it is sent back to the lower courts to workout the specific details. That’s how I see it shaping up based on todays proceedings.

Nah, they aren't going to rule in his favor on the immunity claim.  There is going to be a Jan 6th trial unless he wins in November.

yeah, they'll push this back to the lower courts to decide which acts were "official" which weren't. but cheeto got his wish...delaying until after the election.

Claiming POTUS has absolute immunity may be the least conservative thing I've ever heard. When I say Trumplikins are not conservatives, this is what I mean.

I'm sure giving president immunity will go over as well as giving police qualified immunity.

We'll see which of the justices dissent.  Thomas is the only one I'm sure of who will not join the majority.  Alito may as well but don't be too sure about that.

Here's some food for thought.

Truman dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. Should he have been charged as a war criminal for genocide or be immune.
Obama ordered a hit on Bin Laden and civilians were killed. Should he have been charged with murder or be immune. 
 
Seems to me the above examples are of Official Acts that a President should not be charged with a crime. 

Clearly, trying to retain power, stage a coup and overturn an election is not an official act, nor would ordering seal team 6 to kill your political rivals. Nor would receiving a bag of cash for an appointment for an Ambassadorship or a bag of cash for a Pardon. While those functions are official, Bribery is a crime. 

Seems to me, any crime should revoke any possible immunity claim. It's so easy a monkey could figure this out.

it just seems obvious that trump is admitting to the world, that he cannot perform the duties of POTUS without breaking the law.
