So Andrew Weissman was saying the same thing but he also said don't count it out. The Reasons why? The 10 felony contempt rulings, the out of court statements and threats against the Jury, and the Judge's daughter, and the fact that he shows absolutely no remorse, are 3 reasons the Judge could use to sentence him to time in prison. Also, the Jury verdict was unanimous, guilty of all 34 charges could carry some weight towards jail as well. If prison, i'd say something like 3-6 months of lock up and 2 yrs. Probation. Would be reasonable for an 80 yr old with no prior criminal record. In the balance I think the argument for prison is slightly stronger then reasons not to put in him in jail.

May 31, 20241 yr So once SCOTUS rules on Immunity, (hopefully in June) the D.C. Case will pick back up. That' seems to be the only shot at having another trial before the election. Fanni Willis case is in Appeal. Who knows when that will be decided. No hearing date has been set yet. Judge Cannon is intentionally stalling the case in support of the criminal defendant who appointed her.

SCOTUS will wait until the end of their current session and kick the DC case back down to the lower appeals court on some procedural B.S. to simply buy time for Trump. They're not going to make any ruling that will give the case back to Judge Chutkin.
