I was going to vote Kennedy or stay home. I'm still leaning towards staying home, but as guilty as he may have been, as much as I don't like his personality and everything that has happened since Jan 6, it does smells like political BS that people who hate Trump are enjoying now, but the pendulum is going to swing the other way. Anyone who doesn't think some far right AG or prosecutor in TX or some other state isn't going to start targeting Dems is delusional. If they wanted him they should have focused on the cases in GA or FL, but instead we'll be going back and forth with political targeting in the courts for the foreseeable future. People will disagree, maybe it would have happened anyway, but the entire thing makes me sick.Does that mean I think they should let him go for everything? No, but again, FL and GA seem like more legitimate cases. Even Susan Collins, who is no fan of Trump (one of 7 to vote for impeachment) criticized it, so it wouldn't shock me if this does bring some GOP people who were going to stay home over to his side.

Again, that's coming from someone who voted to impeach him.

In an ideal world I'd agree. But those who don't see the threat this guy - and more importantly this guy's MOVEMENT - represents to our nation is not paying attention. There hasn't been a greater threat to our system of government since the civil war.

The actions the man has taken just since Nov 2020 should have rendered him until for any office let alone the presidency, but here we are.

The Bragg case is motivated by politics, but Trump is also guilty as hell there and elsewhere. So it's hard for me to look at this and garner much sympathy.

The FL and GA cases should go forward before November, but here we are. Aileen Cannon is sandbagging the case in FL, and you can't tell me politics wasn't at play when Fani Willis was targeted.

They couldn't focus on Florida because the Judge handling the case is one that Trump himself appointed and is burying the case. They can't focus on Georgia because the DA had sex with the prosecutor (which has no bearing on Trump's innocence or guilt) and that got delayed. They can't focus on the federal charges because the supreme court that Republicans cheated to get, and Trump appointed 3 of them, is delaying that one because they have to take months or perhaps years to decide if the president can legally murder someone without consequence. For all of the whining, crying and rheeeeing Trump and his cultists do about an unfair system, he's broken every rule, abused every ounce of his power, and further corrupted the swamp he claimed he would "drain" all to his advantage.

As for the pendulum. You're right. Win or lose, Trump will be the nominee in 2028 again. Maybe even in 2032 if he's still alive. But he will eventually...thankfully...die. The totalitarians who want our country to be like Russia aren't going anywhere. Whoever replaces Trump probably won't be a slightly retarded mental patient. Then we are all in real trouble.

Bull f'ing crap. If someone in TX or another conservative state went after Clinton that way you all would have flipped out. I'm sure you'll be cool with it when it starts with Biden shortly. Again, when a senator who voted to impeach him says it's BS I tend to agree. At the end of the day we won't see eye to eye. It's a forum where we'll state our opinions and move on.

There are no crowds flying Clinton flags. Nobody gives a crap. We make fun of your side for stuff like crapping your pants because Obama wore a tan suit.

If Obama or Clinton break the law, take them to task. Go after them. Nobody here is defending Bob Menendez, and a bunch of people here have to be liberals from NJ.

All the culty nonsense is from the right. Pretending Trump is sent by God. FFS, be real.

I agree.  I like him but this position is ridiculous and worthy of sheeting on.

Fair, and I don't take any of it personally. Again, I could very well be wrong it's just how I see it. I would have preferred GA or FL and I hope nothing does come of it but I wouldn't put it past them to start targeting for revenge. I hope it's a stupid opinion that is worthy of crapping on because I don't want to be right. I'd like things to go back to being peaceful in 4-6 years.

Just curious. If Trump wins the election,  will all of you accept it?

Of course. The first election I voted in was for Bush the elder's first term. The only other person that I voted for that won was Bush the younger.

They can mock all they want. I'm not replying to any of it.  Not being baited. I asked a simple question. If the response is mockery that's fine. Just goes to show that they have become what they detest.

Here's the difference: neither Clinton nor Biden have broken the law. At least not in the obvious and provable way that Trump did.

The right spent 2016 chanting "lock her up"

Now the right has spent four years now trying to pin criminal acts on Biden, with zero to show for it. For all the bluster of morons like Procus who gobble up every readily disproven narrative and unfounded allegation, zero evidence has been uncovered that ties Joe to anything criminal.

The right's witch hunt turned up no witches.

The left found a dumb fat feckless warlock with bad hair and a mushroom deek who left a trail of evidence any junior prosecutor could follow.

What you're seeing is actual justice being served to him for the first time in his life.

I prefer presidents who don't commit felonies.

The sane people in here can't give a simple yes response.  Are you implying they will accept it but won't openly admit it?

It wasn’t a serious question until the orange clown lost. FFS. It’s a ridiculous question coming from cult members.

Watch what happens. The pendulum is going to swing the other way.

I have no doubt that if Trump gets into office he will actually weaponize the DOJ.

Biden's DOJ, contrary to what the fox news autists believe, has been very slow and reserved in prosecuting Trump. He knowingly held on to classified material that he had no business having for years, mislead about having returned it all, and dragged his feet about giving it back. He literally gave the Federal govt no other choice but to raid Mar-a-Lago and press charges.

HE chose this path. The DOJ did not want to wade into this.

To be fair, I didn't vote for either of them last time, and likely won't this time. Either vote Libertarian or just write in a sane Republican.

Same here but I’m torn this time. I’m going to have to read up on the happy LP candidate. He did beat the MISES Caucus’s candidate.

Garland has been a disaster. What a feckless, ineffective nothing. The prosector going after Trump had to be a republican. The prosecutor going after Biden also had to be a republican. We need a real AG in Biden's 2nd term.

That's what both sides means to the Dems.

That's the thing. This AG has bent over backwards to try to undercut allegations of political motivations, but it's done nothing to blunt the lying right's charges of bias.

Hunter Biden, the son of a sitting president of the United States is going on trial Monday for gun possession charges brought by a Trump-appointed prosecutor. Bob Menendez, a powerful Democratic senator (who was the chair of the Foreign Relations Committee) is currently on trial for corruption after being indicted by Biden's DOJ. Biden's DOJ recently indicted Dem Congressman Henry Cuellar for taking nearly $600,000 in bribes. Dem Congresswoman Cori Bush is currently under investigation by Biden’s DOJ for mishandling campaign funds There’s no "witch hunt,” "political persecution”, or "two-tiered system of justice.” The orange guy is just a crook, and you know it. No one is above the law!

Exactly, which everyone saw coming. The government shouldn't be trying to placate the lunatic fringe right that will never be appeased.

Well, what the hell do I know? I'm wrong quite often so this wouldn't shock me either. I hated Trump, liked him, after the 6th I went back to not liking him, so I'm not neutral on him but I'm not a fan of him. I don't like that case and have read stories that do come from conservative outlets talking about using it against Dems now. It all makes me sick. If you all think nothing will come of it, great. If I'm right it's not ideal for any of us. We'll see.

I see it the other way. We've always talked about politicians getting away with too much, and your average American seems to have some level of contempt for congress, so if we're starting to hold them more accountable than usual, I don't automatically see that as a bad thing. If you're saying you think juries will start convicting them willy nilly without sufficient evidence, yeah that would be less than ideal, just as it would for any ordinary citizen. But I'm tired of them getting special treatment because they hold public office. I don't care if you're the president, a senator, or some podunk city council member, if you break the law, you should be held accountable.
